Battle heats up to stop hundreds of new green belt homes.

Residents in Kingswinford gathered in force to oppose plans for 557 new homes on agricultural land, calling developers ‘greedy’ and questioning new planning laws.

‘This won’t help those desperate for housing,’ said Molland, ‘it’s just luxury homes with minimal affordable units and unsustainable infrastructure demands.’

‘Roads are already terrible,’ Williams said, ‘and schools will only serve the new development, leaving others without access.’ Smith added residents’ fifteen thousand objections were ‘taken out of our control.’

Campaigners fear rejected plans could bypass local democracy, with the government potentially overriding council decisions on grey belt land.
