00:00It's great that we've managed to achieve the target of getting everybody in the one to nine groups vaccinated by
00:08the deadline, by the time.
00:10A little bit ahead, actually, 32 million people now have got their first dose, which is terrific.
00:19And we're going now to the 45 to 49 group. They're being asked to come forward.
00:26It is very, very important for everybody to understand that the reduction in these numbers in hospitalisations and in deaths
00:35and in infections has not been achieved by the vaccination programme.
00:40People don't, I think, appreciate that it's the lockdown that has been overwhelmingly important in delivering this improvement in the
00:50pandemic and in the figures that we're seeing.
00:54At the moment, I can't see any reason for us to change the roadmap, to deviate from the targets that
01:04we've set ourselves.
01:06And you know what they are. May the 17th, June the 21st, the next way marks on the roadmap.
01:16But it is very, very important that if we're to get there in the way that we all want, that
01:22people continue to be cautious.
