00:00Hello my name is Jake Kirkham, I'm the MP for Truro and Falmouth and I'm here in Qubit tonight because
00:06we're starting a parliamentary petition about the Qubit crossroads, so the crossroads between Qubit and St New New East.
00:14For years and years residents have been saying that it's dangerous, there have been accidents here, Cornwall highways have made
00:21some improvements but we still think more needs to be done.
00:25So I've started a parliamentary petition which will be for signature at the shops and pubs in New New East
00:33and Qubit and it's for people to sign to say that we think these crossroads aren't safe, aren't up to
00:40highway standards still and need more improvements.
00:43And that will help me, I will be able to go up to Parliament, I will be able to speak
00:48about it in the chamber and then present this to the Speaker of the House.
00:53And that will help us put more pressure on national highways and of course on Cornwall highways to try and
00:59get those improvements that people desperately need to this crossroads.
01:02I'm scared.
