00:00As you probably already know, yesterday the Commission granted a conditional marketing
00:05authorization for the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Moderna, which is the second vaccine to be
00:11authorized in the EU. This authorization follows a positive recommendation based on a thorough
00:18assessment of the safety, effectiveness and quality of the vaccine by European Medicines
00:24Agency and it's endorsed by the member states. With this Moderna vaccine, we will now have a further
00:32160 million doses. This comes in addition to the 300 million doses of the vaccine distributed by
00:39BioNTech Pfizer, the first vaccine that was authorized in the EU on the 21st of December.
00:45And more vaccines will follow. Europe has secured up to 2 billion doses of potential COVID-19 vaccines.
