00:00So the next five years we're expecting temperatures to be above average basically everywhere in the
00:06world, especially over the northern hemisphere and over land as well. It's unprecedented to
00:11have such hot temperatures in May before the like meteorological summer has even begun.
00:17We've got a very high chance of at least one year in the next five
00:21exceeding 1.5 degrees so there's a 91 percent chance of this. Nothing will drop off a cliff
00:27when we reach 1.5 degrees and every kind of 0.1 degrees has more and more severe impacts.
00:34But it is very important to try and limit our warming as much as possible. The arctic in
00:39particular is warming 3.5 times faster than the rest of the globe. As the sea ice and snow
00:46melts in the arctic so you get more solar radiation being absorbed which means that basically the
00:52temperatures are increasing. So you're getting like this positive feedback loop happening. As
00:58temperature warms more sea ice melts the worse this makes it. So the science is very clear,
01:03the climate is warming. We need to take urgent action to reduce this as much as possible.
