00:00You know, we here in Europe, like the people of the United States, we are shocked and appalled by the
00:11death of George Floyd.
00:13And I think that all societies must remain vigilant against the excess of use of force
00:21and ensure that all such incidents are addressed safely, effectively, and in full respect for the rule of law and
00:32human rights.
00:34We have to be sure everywhere, especially in societies which are based on the rule of law,
00:41democratic representation and respect for freedoms and liberties,
00:45that the people who are in charge of taking care of the order are not using their capacities
00:57on the way that has been used on this very, very unhappy death of George Floyd.
01:08This is an abuse of power, and this has to be denounced as we combat in the States and everywhere.
01:19We support the right to peaceful protest, and also we condemn violence and racism of any kind,
01:30and for sure we call for a descalation of tensions.
01:34We trust in the ability of the Americans to come together, to heal as a nation,
01:40and to address these important issues during these difficult times,
01:44and allow me to repeat that all lives matter, black lives also matter.
