00:13behavior and you will have regret. A group of women and girls on a women's history walking
00:18tour in Wollongong have been allegedly surrounded and harassed by a gang of teenage boys on e-bikes.
00:26They surrounded the group and started asking if they could join the tour. When the guide said no
00:31they continued to push and heckle. They didn't stop. When the women moved away the boys followed.
00:37They mocked them, they harassed them. Someone in the tour eventually called the police. The teenage
00:44girls on the tour were the least shocked of all. They felt like this was completely normal behavior.
00:50It makes me feel sad that this type of behavior is so expected. Despite the social media ban for
00:56children, a cyber psychologist with the University of Wollongong says teenagers are still being
01:03influenced by social media. It's what gets clicks gets reinforced and unfortunately there's a
01:10negativity bias there. The outrageous, the angry, the abusive. It does get more attention. It gets
01:15more clicks. It gets more likes. This is a, this is a simple Pavlovian conditioning. That behavior gets
01:21rewarded, that behavior gets more. The odds of it happening again are higher and higher and higher.
