00:18mind-bending, eye-popping things that do stuff. I'm talking make you go wow that kind of stuff.
00:27So buckle up for the latest in thing-a-ma-box.
00:38Kevin the Wi-Fi's out. The gadgets from the movie are designed by Eric Guillaume who comes up with
00:44those great ideas and the great thing about how he designs them is that he has
00:49this young spirit. He wants those designs to become so true that he puts all his soul
00:54into it and when we look at it I say oh god we gotta make that.
01:00One of the things that we do with our gadgets in the Despicable Me world is we try to build
01:05surprises into them. So there's always some sort of a twist it's a gun but it
01:12makes people you know turn into a block of ice. With Lucy's gadgets for instance you
01:19think she has a cute fun car but it also turns into a submarine in an airplane. The look of
01:27Lucy's
01:28gadgets is informed by anti-villain league so everything is very sleek and high-tech.
01:32Give us a call. The fun of the AVL their technology is so awesome that really anything we needed her
01:37to have she could have. It's like she's been shot with a mild moose tranquilizer.
01:45What we wanted to do with Lucy was really push the kind of gadgets that you would see in the
01:50Bond films but bigger than life. She's got an amazing purse it's a real bag of tricks.
01:56She's got lipstick that's also a taser. Which I'm currently inventing for the real world.
02:03You know you really should announce your weapons after you fire them. For example.

02:12She's got x-ray goggles.
02:14How are they working? Tell me. Tell me.

02:20And we also thought the AVL's got technology probably superior to Gru's.

02:57One of the things that I really like about the Gru design world,
03:01the anti-villain league is super cool, super slick.
03:05And you take that slickness and you put that next to Gru,
03:08who's much more rough and tumble.

03:11You get the idea that his gadgets work on burning coal sometimes.
03:20These are just more fun and big and visual and, you know...
03:24Well, we're guys, so we like Gru weapons.
03:26Yeah, so we like big weapons.
03:27We would never have become dead using a lipstick taser.
03:29What, am I going to carry a lipstick taser? We can't do that.

03:39The gadgets any good super agent should have in their arsenal.
03:42Because, you know, good guys always have the better gadgets.
03:45It's true, I work for the good guys now,
03:47and I have a car that comes equipped with a whole extra tire
03:51in case one of the other tires pops.
