00:03AutoZone posted higher fiscal third quarter earnings and sales, but said
00:06weather weighed on results late in the period, according to the Wall Street Journal.
00:10The company earned $38.07 a share on sales of $4.84 billion, topping the consensus estimate
00:18of $36.22 a share, but falling short of the $4.86 billion revenue expectation.
00:25On a constant currency basis, same-store sales grew 3.9%, with domestic same-store sales
00:32up 4.1%, and international growth up by 1.6%.
00:38CEO Phil Daniele said unseasonably cool weather slowed heat-related categories, including air
00:44conditioning, starting, and charging, but said those categories should rebound as summer arrives.
00:50The company also flagged weakness in its international business due to slowing economies
00:55in Mexico and Brazil.
00:56Shares fell 12% to $3,008.19.
