Campaigners have criticised the decision not to explore reopening the sports hall ahead of redevelopment. The City of London Corporation says alternative facilities are in place while plans for a ten point four million pounds upgrade continue.

00:22begun. The centre closed in April after its operator went into administration ahead of
00:28refurbishment plans. Officials say alternative leisure provision has been arranged during
00:34the closure period. The £10.4 million redevelopment is still planned, with further consultation
00:40on design continuing in the coming months.
