Elders auctioneer Dean Coxon said he couldn't have been happier with how the cattle presented.
Transcript
00:00Give me the 20 calves, they are baby.
00:02Seven of them in the yard, 460 kilos.
00:04On the no-mo.
00:05It's our feature spring drop weaner sale.
00:07We've had a beautiful autumn here to finish these calves on
00:10and couldn't have been happier with how the cattle presented.
00:13And we've had a solid day with great competition
00:15and a good day for everyone.
00:17We had some heavy feeder steers at the start,
00:19making around that $5.40 and even a bit more,
00:22which was really good.
00:23That's a fair bit dearer than our last sale.
00:25We cleaned up a fair few older cattle
00:28and they've probably made around the $5 mark in the steers.
00:31When we got into the genuine spring drop calves,
00:34they've made anywhere from $5.50 to $6,
00:37maybe more for some of the lighter ones.
00:39But yeah, a good run of those cattle
00:41look like they've made $5.60, $7.80,
00:44around that sort of mark in the steers.
00:46Heifer job was just as good.
00:47We had pen after pen and beautiful Angus spring drop weaner heifers
00:51that have made high fours to early fives
00:53pretty much right through all the weights.
00:55So yeah, certainly a satisfactory day.
