00:41However, this does feel like a legitimate chance for a new beginning for the Raiders,
00:46but notwithstanding they're inarguably one of the toughest divisions in the NFL, the AFC West.
00:50They still got Patrick Mahomes they got to deal with.

01:31So my question for you is, how long do you hold off using a Mr. Mendoza this season?

01:42Do we do the Jordan Love, Patrick Mahomes thing and see if we can hold off so we can really
01:47hit that hit rate that everybody loves to espouse?
01:50I mean, I think you, I would assume, yeah, I would assume with Kirk Cousins, the conversation they had to
01:57have with Kirk Cousins was like he's going to have a legit opportunity to be QB1.

02:03And I don't know if you predetermine, you know, okay, by week four or week six, like we're just definitely
02:10going to make the change.
02:11I do think it has to be more in real time based on how's the team playing, how's the team
02:16performing.
02:17You know, if the guys are bought in, you know, to Cousins as a leader and as a voice of
02:23the team and of the offense, and if they're going good, if the Raiders are 3-3 through six weeks,
02:304-2, why change it at that point, right?
02:33I think the only time you probably have to think about having the conversation is if things are going really,
02:39really bad, and you're not going to watch Kirk Cousins get destroyed all year and get beat up.
02:46And so, yeah, you don't want to throw Mendoza into a bad situation, but you as a Raiders fan, you're
02:53not going to sit there for more than five or six weeks if it's going.

03:16That's a gauntlet of a month.

03:20But it's, I mean, hopefully Cousins can, you know, build some rhythm and some confidence in those first three weeks.

03:29Maybe you see Mendoza against the Jets on November 1st.
03:32But before that, I don't know if you should pull it off that quickly.
