00:00And she was just a myth.
00:01She didn't have any kids before this whole year.
00:04And so, I stayed broke over there and stayed with her.
00:08And she never took enough back to me, she never told me she loved me.
00:11She never really did anything for me.
00:13I just scraped and fight over this kid to survive.
00:18And the first year was the toughest because I miss my mom, I miss my brother and my sister.
00:21My whole life was turned upside down.
00:24And I'm crying out, I'm sad all the time.
00:26And then the second year, I kind of got used to the neighborhood and I was running the street with
00:30these guys in the neighborhood.
00:32And they was way street smarter than I was.
00:34I used to see them going to the store, they'd give me cookies and candies and stuff, a cold drink.
00:39And they wouldn't buy them, they would steal them.
00:41And so, I began to steal things in the stores.
00:44Going to the stores, stealing cans, stealing things.
00:47And I saw every door, the Lord was visiting.
00:51And I could feel the President of the Lord coming to my room.
00:54And I knew it was him.
00:56And he would just stare at me.
00:56He wouldn't see anything.
00:57He would just stare at me.
00:58And I would toss and turn until I fall asleep.
01:01And the next day, I would be bad all over again.
01:03And I knew he was coming.
01:05And he would show up.
01:06And he would just stare at me.
01:08And so, that kind of got out the window.
01:10And a lot of them began to convict me of the things they were doing.
01:14I told him, I said, I think I'm going back to New Orleans tomorrow.
01:19Should have never came here.
01:20He said, no, he's going to get done.
01:21I said, no, he won't.
01:22Came back to the city.
01:24I felt a deep depression again.
01:26I was living the past, the rejection, the hurt, all over again.
01:29So, a couple of days later, a friend brought Russell to my house.
01:33And I told my friend, why is he a brilliant guy?
01:36Why is he a brilliant man?
01:37And so, my friend went to the bathroom.
01:40And Russell walked up to me.
01:41And Russell told me, man, the law told me to tell you this.
01:43He said, the law told me to tell you that he loves you.
01:45He wants to take your hurt and your pain from you.
01:47He wants to set you free.
01:48He wants to use you.
01:49And Russell told me this.
01:51And he left.
01:52And me and my friend, we parted.
01:53We did all the things.
01:56And I went from relationship to relationship.
01:58Never really could get it right with a woman.
02:00Had many girlfriends.
02:01But I'm just too rough and too rugged.
02:03Didn't know how to love.
02:05And I met this girl.
02:07They married two kids.
02:08We had a kid together.
02:09And she told me one day, she said, Daniel, you're a good man.
02:12But I don't want to drink and drug him from the kids.
02:15He's going to spurt you up.
02:16I'm going to kick you out of the house.
02:18And I went to work one day.
02:19And I tried to quit drinking.
02:21I tried to quit drinking.
02:22I tried to quit drinking.
02:23I couldn't have strongholds on me.
02:24And I went to work one day.
02:26And I came back.
02:26All my clothes was on the front door.
02:29And I told her, I said, what's my clothes doing after you?
02:31You got to go.
02:32He was quitting now.
02:33I became homeless for three and a half years on the street.
02:36I just gave up on life.
02:37Drinking, drugging, and acting up.
02:40And I'll be going through the neighborhood.
02:41And I'll see people prayer walking.
02:43I would turn around and go the other way.
02:48And I would run into the neighborhood of people.
02:51I'd be going through a drug.
02:52And I'd go to the street and walk up and say, hey man.
02:55The law would tell him to ask himself.
02:56He wants to know when you're going to stop.
02:58When are you going to quit?
02:59The law wants to know when you're going to stop.
03:01And I knew deep down in my heart he was telling me the truth.
03:04I knew it.
03:06And I would walk off.
03:08And I met this guy one day.
03:09He had a Bible saying.
03:11He had a gospel practice.
03:12And he was sharing the love of Christ.
03:14And I see him one day.
03:15He told him, hey man.
03:16God loves you, brother.
03:17And I told him, I said, man.
03:19I don't think there's no such thing as love.
03:21He said, keep it.
03:21Tell people that.
03:22To make them feel good.
03:23There's no such thing as love.
03:24I said, no man.
03:24God loves you, brother.
03:26He went to his Bible.
03:26He went to the Bible.
03:27He was trying to share his story with him.
03:29And as he shared his story, I could feel the peace of the Lord.
03:32I could feel the Lord touching me.
03:34It was in the center section.
03:35And it was so quiet.
03:37The car was just moving.
03:38There was a little sound.
03:39And as he was talking to me, I could feel the presence of the Lord touching me.
03:44And we're talking about how he said, brother.
03:45I really have to go meet my friends.
03:48Can I pray for him?
03:49Sure.
03:49He prayed for me.
03:50He prayed for me.
03:52And the Lord would open my eyes.
03:52The Lord would show me things.
03:54And I was about to leave.
03:56He came, man.
03:57The Lord told me to give you this Bible.
03:58And start up in the Gospel of John.
04:00I don't need the Gospels and go to Jesus.
04:02They gave me the Bible.
04:04Then I left.
04:05I went to a little homeless camp.
04:07I went over to my friend's people there.
04:09And we all had our little tents and stuff.
04:11And we were all sitting out one day.
04:13And the Lord took the skills off my eyes.
04:14I could see the people I was hanging around with the best.
04:16And I was like, wow.
04:17People were stealing from each other.
04:19They pushed each other.
04:19How is this crazy underneath there?
04:21Underneath there.
04:22But I've never seen it like I've seen it that day.
04:25I told a friend of mine to say, man.
04:26I'm sick of this.
04:27I can't live like this for a moment.
04:29I've got to change.
04:30I told a friend of mine to say, I've got to leave this camp.
04:32You laugh at me.
04:33A couple days later, I move my camp.
04:35I'm going to read my Bible.
04:38I'm going to just talk to them.
04:39I didn't know how to pray.
04:39I was just talking to the Lord.
