Join us for a trip down memory lane as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of Red Faction. From Parker's rebellion on Mars to the revolutionary GeoMod engine, let's look back at what made this game a classic.
Transcript
00:00Red Faction turns 25 today. Set on Mars, you play as Parker, a miner who rebels against
00:05his abusive and authoritarian employers, Ultor Corporation, who are using a plague to suppress
00:10their workforce. Red Faction was the first game developed on the GeoMod engine, which
00:15allowed unprecedented environmental destruction to both the Martian terrain and buildings.
00:19We gave it an 85 when it originally released on PC and PS2 on May 22, 2001. A sequel, Red
00:26Faction 2 followed in 2002. The series switched to a third-person open-world setting for 2009's
00:32Red Faction Guerrilla, before concluding with 2010's Red Faction Armageddon.
00:36Also, don't forget about Mr. 2's. Have you played Red Faction? Let us know in the comments.
