00:03A high-ranking officer with El Paso's Border Patrol Union, Wesley Ferris, told us he objected to the initiative.
00:10I had to separate children from their parents. That was the most horrible thing I've ever done.
00:15You can't help but see your own kids.
00:17Well, put us there when you had to do that.
00:20The last one I did was a young boy. I think he was about two.
00:24The world was upside down to that kid, so when the contractor tried to take him away, he reached for
00:32me.
00:32He climbed up on me again, and he was holding on to me.
00:35And so that one got me a little bit. That was tough.
00:38I said at that one, I'm not doing this anymore. I won't do it.
00:40I went back to the supervisor and I told him, don't assign me to do that anymore.
00:44Did you complain up the chain?
00:46Well, I wanted to. I mean, none of us were happy about it.
00:50But everybody around me was just doing exactly what we all were told to do this.
