00:45Hello everybody and welcome, good evening if you're watching us live, but otherwise welcome to Paddock Uncut, your first look
00:51inside the Montreal paddock, ahead of the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix, where we're joined by yellow car, no returns.
01:00Bernie Collins and Craig Slater, welcome everybody, welcome back after what seems like a very, very long time since Miami,
01:08it is only two weeks, but we are in amongst it and ahead of a long run of races, seven
01:15races in ten weeks, is it Bernie?
01:17Yeah, it's going to get very, very busy, it's felt like because we've had that little break, we've had the
01:20gap between Miami and here, it's felt like very stop-star, but now it is going to be really on
01:26it.
01:26And Craig, it is a massive weekend of sport down Montreal way, because not too far from the Ile-Gilles
01:33Villeneuve or the circuit Gilles Villeneuve here on the Ile-Notre-Dame, there is a big ice hockey game or
01:38hockey as they call it.
01:39It's the quarterfinals of the Stanley Cup this weekend, and Montreal as well as the Grand Prix, you know, sprint
01:44race Grand Prix as well, Montreal is abuzz.
01:48Montreal Canadiens, the most storied team in ice hockey in Montreal, at least.
01:54Well, listen, I mean, they've won loads of Stanley Cups, they've not been as successful in recent years, so as
01:58they know, I mean, even though it's an away game, the city is still agog with what's going on.
02:03Is it away? Are they away at the Carolina Hurricanes?
02:06Yes.
02:06Okay, and the other semi-final between the Colorado Avalanche, slightly unfortunate name for a team based in Denver, Colorado,
02:16but there you go, and the Las Vegas Golden Knights.
02:18Yeah.
02:20Your tip for the Stanley Cup?
02:23Always a bit of a Las Vegas person, so let's go for the Golden Knights.
02:27Strange place to be good at an icy sport, isn't it? The desert.
02:30Indeed. But how about your and everybody's tip for the Grand Prix this weekend?
02:35So, interesting, we come here with Kimi Antonelli on completing a hat-trick, having won in Canada and Japan and
02:42Miami.
02:42George Russell on the back foot, but listen to them here now and see who sounds worried or more worried
02:49than the other, because that is the championship at the moment.
02:51With McLaren, we'll talk about them coming up and finding some speed, and indeed Ferrari, but at the moment it's
02:56between Kimi and George.
02:58And, well, we asked Kimi how he's achieved this amazing recent run of form.
03:06Obviously, the year of experience last year is playing a massive role, and also going through the difficult moments last
03:13year helped me to, made me a lot stronger ahead of this year.
03:17And I feel more in control of the situation, also more aware of what's good and what's not good for
03:21me, and, yeah, also just trying to focus on the right things.
03:26But so far it's going pretty well, and obviously the goal this weekend is to pick up from where we
03:33left off in Miami and just continue this good streak.
03:37But, yeah, I mean, I think I can, obviously, you never know, but I think, you know, it's not impossible
03:44to maintain this form for the whole year.
03:46It's just another race, and it's not even, you know, on my mind the championship.
03:51I know what I'm capable of, I know the speed I've got.
03:54Obviously, Miami was a bad weekend.
03:56It was a tough weekend for me there last year, and I went to Montreal and had a great weekend.
04:01It doesn't mean this year is going to be the same, but I just need to focus on myself, go
04:05through my processes as I did in Melbourne, as I did in China, and control what I can control.
04:11So, you know, there's really no need to panic at all.
04:15And as we said, we're four races down, 18 at least to go.
04:22And I actually look back on my F2 season, which was obviously the last time I fought for a championship,
04:29and I was P6 after four races in F2 and about 35 points down.
04:32So, you know, at this point, it means nothing.
04:37Does it mean nothing?
04:38I suppose a 20-point lead means nothing.
04:41Well, it's nice to have.
04:43Yeah, 20-point lead.
04:44I think both of them would prefer to have that 20-point lead.
04:46I don't think George would turn it down if it was offered to him.
04:49But I think if we look at last year between Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, there was points where you
04:55thought one was ahead, one was behind.
04:56You thought Lando Norris wouldn't come back.
04:58He did.
04:59Max Verstappen, we thought, definitely wouldn't come back and totally did.
05:02So, the points, 20 points is one win.
05:05One win is 25 points.
05:06So, it's not big.
05:07But I think he will want to start to correct that this weekend.
05:11George will.
05:12George will, yeah.
05:13Because the more it opens, the more difficult it does become.
05:15Yeah, I mean, I asked him, in a sense, to George today to compare it to Lando's situation last year,
05:22which was very clearly that Oscar Piastri adapted to the new McLaren better than Lando did.
05:27And they had to bring that upgrade in to soften the car, as it were, for Lando Norris.
05:32And was there any kind of parallel to that this year?
05:35George said there wasn't.
05:37It's not about that.
05:38He has been a bit unlucky.
05:40One or two things went his way from that second qualifying, wasn't it?
05:44Of the year, when he only got out.
05:46And then that kind of dented.
05:47It didn't get Paul.
05:48And Antonelli's taken over from them.
05:50But the other context to this is people like Nigel Mansell and other, you know, Jacques Villeneuve, expecting and talking
05:58about how George needs to stamp his authority on this situation this year.
06:02You know this is going to be your title winning year.
06:05And that's what George would have wanted to do.
06:07And he's having to face all these awkward questions about being 20 points behind.
06:12Well, we kind of said it in Miami, you know, whether Miami was a must win and he didn't win.
06:16It would be nice for him to dominate the weekend, to have the sprint win and the Grand Prix win.
06:22But then Kimi Antonelli, as you heard there, say it's going all very well.
06:26And while Mercedes made hay when they didn't have any upgrades, now they do have upgrades.
06:33And look, there's Peter Bonington having a look at, not sure if Kieran's got a zoom lens on this.
06:38Have you?
06:39Do you want to go in, Kieran?
06:40Now they've actually got some upgrades.
06:42Have you spotted them yet, Bernie?
06:44I haven't.
06:45I haven't, but I think Kimi's in the car there, isn't he?
06:47Doing a bit of a seat fit check.
06:49A seat fit check, yeah.
06:51With more upgrades coming, that could put them even further ahead.
06:55Yeah, so my thought on that is, if teams had looked at the calendar at the beginning of the year,
06:59they would have said that here is an obvious place to bring upgrades.
07:02The gap between Miami and here, and that was an obvious chance to get your upgrades on the car.
07:07So they have rigidly stuck, I think, to their pre-season plan of when the upgrades are coming.
07:12Obviously, a lot of other teams, McLaren being one, brought the upgrades forward to Miami.
07:16Now that means McLaren have had an extra few runs on it.
07:19They've had a full race distance on it.
07:20They've timed to look through the data and optimize those upgrades.
07:23But from everything we've heard, the Mercedes upgrades will be significant here.
07:28Does that end, you see where it's at the top wing on the front wing end plate, where it says
07:34IWC?
07:35Yeah.
07:35Kieran, can you see it?
07:36That's new.
07:37That's an upgrade.
07:38That's one.
07:38There's an example here.
07:39I've spotted one.
07:40Well, that's the old.
07:41Yeah, so that you can, if Kieran turns around and looks at the spare wing, you look at the top
07:45of the IWC.
07:46Old, Kieran?
07:47It's like a flat top above the IWC.
07:48He's got this fancy Camry.
07:50He can't move very quickly.
07:51Old, new.
07:53New.
07:55Shove, I've spotted one upgrade so far.
07:57The front wing end plate thing.
08:00Flap thing.
08:02Yeah.
08:02It's the only one I've spotted so far.
08:04Keep looking.
08:06All right.
08:06Apparently, they've got a load.
08:08He's not going to let me.
08:09Is this the particular part of, not just the Mercedes, but other teams' cars, which Lewis Hamilton is concerned that
08:16Ferrari are not going along the same lines?
08:19Well, that's one of the things, because Ferrari doesn't have a particularly developed area, the front wing end plate flap
08:27on there.
08:27That's one of the things.
08:28I've spotted another one, Ted.
08:29Sorry?
08:30You spotted another one?
08:31Yes!
08:32What is it?
08:33So, the little flap that comes out from the IWC.
08:35Yeah.
08:35I'll point here.
08:36Yeah.
08:37This.
08:38This.
08:38Yeah.
08:39There's a return on this one here.
08:41So, there's a little wing lid on the end of the new one.
08:43Yep.
08:45It's like spot the difference, isn't it?
08:46It's like if you always spot the difference.
08:47The whole thing's different.
08:49We could keep going at this all day.
08:51We just do this for a part of this.
08:52The larger point, isn't it?
08:54The larger point is that while Kimi has been making hay, you know, winning three in a row, now they've
09:01got the upgrades.
09:01Is that just going to put Kimi even further, more comfortably ahead of George?
09:05Or is it going to mean George will feel comfortable with the car and can get back the win that
09:09maybe he needs to for his championship?
09:11For McLaren, you know, bringing one or two extra bits here as well.
09:16Let's see.
09:17I mean, that has not been pronouncedly the case that one driver has dealt better with the car, I don't
09:23think, than the other.
09:24There's no evidence for that.
09:25I think it's a big package of upgrades.
09:26It's meant to bring overall load, overall performance to the car.
09:29Sometimes it might bring, let's say, slightly more front downforce than rear downforce.
09:33And that balance maybe not suits one driver as much as the other.
09:37But let's see, I think that, you know, Kimi and Bono, as you see in the cars, are working well
09:41together.
09:42They'll try and get the most out of whatever package comes.
09:44OK, where are the challenges at then?
09:46Where is Ferrari at?
09:48And where are McLaren at as well?
09:49Because next door, it's easy to forget that Lando Norris did win the Miami sprint race and could have easily
09:54won the Grand Prix.
09:55So what are Charles Leclerc, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris' thoughts coming into the weekend?
10:01We're just focused on making sure we prepare well on a sprint race weekend.
10:06That's really one of the most important things on a weekend like this is just making sure we hit the
10:10ground running.
10:11That's normally what brings someone's success on the sprint race weekend is just starting in a very good place.
10:18So that's our goal.
10:19We don't really care where everyone thinks they're going to be or anything.
10:23We've got some upgrades, but a lot of them are more like, I mean, yeah, some of them are barely
10:28changed anything.
10:29You know, it's just we're talking tiny, tiny things here and there at times.
10:33But everything to try and push us in the right direction.
10:37But yeah, the more the merrier and anything that can help us be a little bit quicker, especially when you're
10:41talking about thousands and hundreds of times, is a good thing.
10:44So the team has done a good job, but we're just prepared on making sure we hit the ground running.
10:48It's going to be interesting to see.
10:49I think, you know, we know we've got a reasonable step again here, which is nice.
10:55But it's not been the easiest circuit for us the last couple of years.
11:00And it's been a very strong one for Mercedes.
11:02So it's going to be interesting to see how we stack up, obviously, in very different cars this year compared
11:07to last.
11:07But I think if we can be competitive this weekend, that's a really good sign for the rest of the
11:12year.
11:12McLaren and Red Bull are figuring out how to maximize their system on top of the upgrades they brought.
11:18And Mercedes remains the team to beat.
11:22So for that, we need to do absolutely everything perfect this weekend in order to make sure that we are
11:27as close as possible to Mercedes.
11:29And hopefully in front of McLaren and Red Bull.
11:32But it's going to be tough.
11:33I mean, I expect it to be very, very tight.
11:35And I hope it will be.
11:38Yeah, we hope it's going to be tight as well.
11:40But when you remember the 11 upgrades that Ferrari brought to the Miami Grand Prix and went away from that
11:46race saying, you know,
11:47we're not sure we've really achieved what we thought we were going to achieve.
11:50Bernie, what would have been the work in the factory for them to go through all of those upgrades bit
11:55by bit and said,
11:56OK, this definitely helped, this maybe didn't, or this needs more work, this maybe didn't.
12:01Well, the beauty in many ways of Miami is that with a sprint event and the race, you've got lots
12:06of consistent laps where the tyre degradation is changing only a little bit.
12:10The fuel's changing only a little bit.
12:12So they have lots of examples of different cornering situations, different ride heights lately.
12:17So they will be able to go through and pick out the air.
12:21What they're looking for is the airflow across the car.
12:23Where has it improved the balance?
12:24Where has it not had the balance?
12:26And through a bit with driver feedback as well, hopefully be able to highlight parts of the car that they
12:32don't think are working well enough.
12:33And then look at which specific component they can change or modify slightly.
12:37Sometimes only small modifications is enough to correct any sort of balance.
12:42OK, Lewis Hamilton came here, we've heard from Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton coming in saying,
12:46look, I didn't go and do a simulator session, although he was in the Ferrari factory.
12:51It's the longest answer I've heard, packed with detail and fascinating, but it was a remarkable defence of his position,
12:58why he doesn't do simulator, or he's chosen not to do simulator work, because the bottom line was he suggested
13:05it would lead him down a wrong path, I think, basically.
13:08Yeah, he said also that he didn't do a simulator session, lengthy one before China, and then on China he
13:14arrived with a great set-up straight away and didn't have to change it too much.
13:19We don't need to hear it, but anyway, what do you think?
13:22This is quite interesting, actually.
13:23Well, it looks like Ferrari are working on their wheel guns, and some of their pit stops haven't been uber
13:29-quick, have they, Bernie?
13:30But on Hamilton, this is a circuit he excels at, won his first Grand Prix here, Craig, so he can
13:37expect to go well here.
13:39The question for Ferrari, I suppose, is, and it's a power circuit, this is the other aspect we need to
13:44look at,
13:45are they still being hurt by that small turbo over the entirety of the lap?
13:50Are they waiting for this, a duo?
13:53Are they expecting to get one?
13:54And is that critical to them achieving parity or better with Mercedes this year, if they don't get it?
14:01I mean, I think that's the question for this year.
14:03The other interesting thing about Lewis today was, was he answering any question marks about whether he continues in F1
14:12beyond this season?
14:13Because we understood he had a two-plus-one-year deal, with the third year in that being dependent on
14:22both him and Ferrari deciding to proceed with it.
14:26And he indicated today that, yes, he would be going ahead.
14:29Yes, he very casually then dropped in the big news of the day, which is, well, I'm staying at Ferrari
14:33for a third year, so I'll be here next year.
14:35So, you know, looking forward to build the team.
14:37In response, actually, to a question about you, randomly, talking about Mikel Arteta.
14:41Yes.
14:42So, I think that you were trying to make a, you did make a connection.
14:45Yeah.
14:46And he gave you a good answer.
14:47The time allowed Arteta to get things right at Arsenal, with a few near misses in league championship terms.
14:56Should Ferrari adopt a similar attitude to Fred Vasseur and Lewis Hamilton's crusade to bring them back to the front?
15:04And he basically said, yes, I'm going to be here next year.
15:07Years and years and years.
15:08Okay.
15:08So, he is going to be here next year.
15:09And we also now have a line about Max Verstappen's future in Formula One as well, a news line.
15:14But we'll tell you that after he talked about his escapades at the feared famed Nordschleife, the Nürburgring, in central
15:23Germany, last weekend.
15:25When he was on for a win before a driveshaft broke and he and his teammates weren't able.
15:30They did finish the race, actually, but they didn't win it.
15:32They weren't close to the podium.
15:33They were several laps down.
15:34But anyway, he had a great time.
15:36And his contemporaries in the paddock were full of admiration for the job he did.
15:40But first, Max, on his Nürburgring exploits.
15:44Honestly, it was great.
15:45I mean, I had a really fun week.
15:48People, like, drivers were really welcoming.
15:51The fans were great.
15:53The organizers as well, super friendly and really open-minded.
15:56And I have to say that, yeah, it's a real, like, cool event to be part of.
16:01And I think also for the fans, you know, they, yeah, they see so many different kind of cars.
16:07The community as well.
16:09Yeah.
16:09It's just, yeah, very positive feelings, you know, when you walk around there.
16:12And the track itself is so cool to race.
16:15And also the changing, like, conditions that we had in the wet or, like, in the race.
16:20Like, some slippery scenarios.
16:23But, yeah, for me, of course, a shame about the end result.
16:27But the whole experience was definitely really, really great.
16:29The track to drive, I think, is crazy.
16:34But it's super cool.
16:35And it's something that I would like to try definitely in the future.
16:39But definitely, yeah, we've been talking about the race.
16:41And, but he said that he enjoyed a lot.
16:43And that it was an incredible experience.
16:47So it looked like that way in the video, that he was enjoying himself.
16:51You know, I had no surprise to see him very competitive in, you know, in that category and in that
16:56field.
16:57So, yeah, there have been a couple of great highlights, you know, all over social media and stuff like that.
17:04And I thought it was really cool, yeah.
17:06All of us are in a slightly different position to Max.
17:09Obviously, we're also pursuing to win a world championship.
17:12But, obviously, he's in a luxurious position to do what he enjoys.
17:17And, yeah, that's great for him.
17:20And he did a great job.
17:22Does it whet your appetite?
17:23Does it make you want to go and have a go as well?
17:26Not particularly, no.
17:29No.
17:32There's definitely a part of me, I mean, I love the Norshleif, so I would love to drive a car
17:39around there at some stage.
17:40And, I mean, the racing looks fantastic, so.
17:45But, I don't know.
17:46Could do.
17:48Don't need to.
17:51Oh, come on, Lewis.
17:52Why not?
17:53Looks amazing.
17:55Definitely give it a go.
17:56Yeah, I'd love to give it a go.
17:57Yeah.
17:57Maybe when he's retired from F1.
18:00He loves the Norshleif, give it a go.
18:02Ironically, what George Russell, George Russell was hinting there that he's not allowed, he wouldn't, him, Kimi, wouldn't be allowed
18:08to do it in their contracts.
18:10Particularly ironic when you think that Max Verstappen and his teammates were driving a Mercedes.
18:15Yes, and interesting images today of Toto Wolff and Joss Verstappen very publicly sitting outside Mercedes hospitality, setting us all
18:27thinking, is this a negotiation to try and bring Max to Mercedes?
18:32We know Toto is a long-time admirer.
18:35Zach Brown saying the other week, if Verstappen goes anywhere, it will be to Mercedes.
18:40I've got a text.
18:42It's not a very secret, not a very secret negotiation, if it is one.
18:47But anyway, what was the line you had from Mercedes?
18:53They explained this, I'm sure, Bernie, with a kind of, well, at least it was just two old friends having
18:58a good old chin way.
18:58You would have thought if it was a negotiation about a future drive, having it out in the paddock where
19:03we can all see it is not particularly subtle in secret ways.
19:05We all know that every conversation that happens in the paddock, even behind closed doors, because someone does spot you
19:11coming in and out of an office that you shouldn't be.
19:13So there's no secrets in the paddock, but yes, that's quite open to have a contract negotiation.
19:16So this is from a senior Mercedes figure, actually, it's the deputy team principal, Bradley Lord.
19:22We were talking exclusively about Verstappen at Mercedes at the Nürburgring 24-hour race.
19:30All right.
19:31That was it.
19:32But a word about him, actually, in the drive and his teammates as well, Danny Junkadella and, was it Lucas
19:38Auer and Jules Gounon as well?
19:40That's all right.
19:42They would have won it, which would have been an amazing achievement.
19:45Not entirely unexpected, because, you know, he's amazing at it.
19:51It's a shame, but I'm sure he'll be back.
19:54But, yeah, it seems to have captured everyone's imagination.
19:57I think the thing is, you look at anyone that watched, I watched it at home, we watched it at
20:02home, not the whole 24 hours, but the bits that we were awake for.
20:06But what it brought to that event, that event sold out weekend tickets for the first time ever.
20:11And there was lots of people there that wouldn't normally go if it wasn't for the max effect.
20:16And his teammates were obviously very, very, you know, the team as a whole is working together.
20:21And that's what's difficult about the 24-hour race, is that consistency and it's getting the reliability of the car
20:26to make it to the end.
20:27But they did retire from the lead.
20:29So, question marks over how the damage was caused.
20:31Yeah.
20:32But, yeah, it's an impressive stint.
20:35And I totally understand why other teams in the Petlian don't allow their drivers that freedom to drive there.
20:41Because it is GT and that sort of light is a very, very interesting thing to be doing when you've
20:45got a race next weekend.
20:46But significantly, part of the narrative around Max was, was he going to choose to race in series like this
20:54rather than Formula One?
20:56Because he was dissatisfied with the way the car is this year.
20:59Significant comments from him today in response to the move which we'll get from next year.
21:05It's of a 60-40 split in terms of combustion and electrical power.
21:09Yep, less reliable.
21:10Directly asked, does this boost your chances of staying in F1?
21:14Yeah, definitely, Max said.
21:16I just want a good product in Formula One and that will for sure improve the product.
21:21And then he's pressed on the matter, asking him, is it yes or no, you're going to stay?
21:29And he says, yes or no, it doesn't matter.
21:32For me, I'm happy where I'm at.
21:35I see the team really progressing and that's also very exciting to me.
21:39And for me, I always wanted to continue anyway.
21:43Okay.
21:43But I always wanted to see change.
21:45So I think the bottom line there is he's saying, I pushed for this.
21:50F1's leadership have given ground.
21:52Yep.
21:53In response, I'll stay.
21:55Wow.
21:56Line of the day.
21:57I think so.
21:58Yep.
21:58Along with Hamilton staying for another third year at Ferrari.
22:01Good.
22:02Good, good, good.
22:03Right.
22:03Well, it almost seems that any other story is going to pale in significance.
22:09But there are other stories in the paddock, not least some silly season stories, perhaps,
22:13that Esteban Ocon is close to being replaced at Haas Grand Prix, Haas F1,
22:18by either their reserve driver, Jack Doon or Rio Hirokawa.
22:22But this was his response to those rumors.
22:25Yeah, the stories have been fabricated with no findings, you know,
22:30and there was no real sources in there.
22:32And, you know, I've joined this team because of Ayao, you know,
22:36because I know him for so long.
22:37You know, he's been my first race engineer in F1.
22:40And, you know, he's going to set the record straight later, you know, in the media.
22:44There's no dispute in Miami.
22:46But anyway, when I read the article that kicked that off, they call him Rio Komatsu.
22:51So as soon as I read that, well, I stopped reading.
22:54That was it.
22:55Thank you.
22:57Okay.
22:58Yeah, he just, I mean, this would all be history, this story,
23:02if he just scored some more points, perhaps.
23:04Really odd story, though.
23:05Neither of them scored in Miami.
23:07So I checked with the team, and apparently they've traced it back
23:10to a mistranslation of a quotation by a journalist.
23:15Right.
23:15So unilaterally pronouncing on this.
23:18So sometimes these things, no smoke without a fire and all that,
23:21in this case, genuinely nothing in this utter nonsense.
23:24Good.
23:25Well.
23:27I mean, he's not having a great time, but this is foundationless.
23:30I think the only reason that it's been picked up and run with and made into a story,
23:35if the teammates were close in points, then people would totally discard it.
23:39But I think he's 17 points behind Oliver Berman.
23:41And some of that will come down a lot.
23:43But 17 points for a team like Haas is a massive delta between their drivers.
23:47And they need to take every opportunity, and they've been very good in the previous years
23:52at making the points stick early in the season when others make mistakes.
23:56And there will be conversations happening in the background to see where the points have
24:01been lost, what the fault is.
24:03Is it reliability?
24:04Is it strategy?
24:05Is it drivers?
24:06So those conversations will be happening in all of the teams all the time.
24:09But that's why it's become a story, whether it's a story or not.
24:12It's because people are looking at the gap and going, it's believable.
24:14Yep.
24:14There's always pressure in Formula One.
24:16Right.
24:16We are in the middle of the fan walkabout.
24:18And amongst all of these fans and who they're supporting are, I'm sure, some Franco Colopinto
24:23fans and some Alpine fans.
24:25And they might well be, because the Argentine had his best result ever in Miami.
24:29It was eighth on the road, but then turned to seventh when Charles Leclerc got a 30-second
24:35penalty for not having a good reason for leaving the track.
24:39So how, you might wonder, did Franco learn about his promotion from eighth to seventh?
24:47I was checking out with my bags down, a fan, when I was coming in the hotel, a fan asked
24:53me for a picture.
24:53Yeah.
24:54And I come back down, checking out, and the same fan outside is like, hey, Franco, you
25:00are P7.
25:01Congrats.
25:01I was like, what?
25:02I was P8.
25:04No, no, no.
25:05You are P7 now.
25:06They give you a penalty to Charles.
25:10I was like, are you sure?
25:13I started to check my phone and there were messages.
25:15And he's like, oh, great.
25:19So Alpine had texted him first.
25:21He didn't only learn, well, he did only learn it from a fan wanting an autograph.
25:25You would have thought Alpine would have called him and said, hey, we're seventh.
25:28Yeah, but I think drivers can sometimes be notoriously hard to get a hold of, especially
25:32post-race.
25:32He's probably thinking, maybe they want me to do some media or what they're getting in
25:36touch with.
25:36He's probably turned his phone over and ignoring it.
25:38And then it's a funny way to find out, isn't it?
25:41Little island of their own at the moment, Alpine, aren't they?
25:44Behind the top four, but above the rest of the midfield.
25:47Yep.
25:48And we will find out where the spoils go and the points go in that midfield and indeed
25:53at the front in this sprint weekend.
25:55And these are all the times you need.
25:57Friday, there's only one practice session, of course.
26:00And that is at 5 p.m., 9 p.m. for Sprint Qualifying.
26:03And then on Saturday, it's in the afternoon, you need to join us again, 4 p.m. and 10 past
26:08eight for Grand Prix Qualifying.
26:10And 7.30, we are on air for a 9 p.m. start.
26:16So with the assuming we're not going to get an earlier start because of any weather, Bernie,
26:20it's still between George and Kimi or the McLarens and the Ferraris in it as well?
26:25We've got a lot to learn on Friday, but I think my money's on Mercedes.
26:29OK, especially with that upgrade, only one bit of which we've seen so far.
26:33Big pressure on George Russell.
26:34It's not a must-win, but it feels that way, doesn't it?
26:36Yeah, it really does.
26:37OK, so never mind the ice hockey, although people will be watching the Stanley Cup semifinals
26:41this evening.
26:42It's all about the Grand Prix here in Canada this weekend.
26:45Looking forward to having your company throughout the weekend.
26:47Bye-bye for now.
