Beef steak teriyaki bowl is a quick Japanese-style rice bowl recipe that turns juicy steak slices, warm rice, and glossy teriyaki sauce into a satisfying meal in about ten minutes. This dish usually starts by searing beef steak until browned outside and tender inside, then coating it with a sauce made from soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar for balanced sweetness and umami. As the sauce reduces in the pan, it clings to the sliced beef and creates a shiny glaze with deep savory flavor. The warm rice absorbs the extra sauce, while toppings such as green onion, sesame seeds, nori, pickles, egg, or vegetables can add freshness and texture. The final bowl is fast, filling, and easy to make at home, giving busy cooks a simple steak dinner with Japanese teriyaki flavor and a clean homemade finish.

00:00Hey everyone, I'm Yuto and today on Statue, I'm going to show you how to make a super
00:04quick and delicious 10-minute teriyaki beef bowl with a wasabi twist.
00:08Let's get straight to it.
00:10I'm going to start by making the sauce, so grab a bowl and add 2 tablespoons of soy sauce,
00:152 tablespoons of mirin, 2 tablespoons of sake, 1 tablespoon of wasabi paste, 2 teaspoons
00:28of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of honey.
00:39Mix those until smooth. I know it seems like a little wasabi but the spiciness completely
00:45disappears when it's cooked.
00:47Okay, now let's prepare the beef. I have 450 grams of beef steak here
00:52and I'll start by seasoning it with a pinch of salt and pepper.
01:06Then add about half a tablespoon of potato starch and mix it until evenly coated.
01:19Heat your pan on high and add about half a tablespoon of cooking oil.
01:28Once it's nice and hot, throw the beef straight in there and spread it out evenly.
01:34We just want to brown it on one side. While this cooks, I just want to mention that your rice
01:40should
01:40already be cooked before you start this recipe. It's that quick.
01:45Okay, once it's looking nice and browned like this, add the sauce and mix it around.
01:51You might think it's strange not to brown the other side, and you can if you like, but this way,
01:56I can finish these bite-sized beef with medium rare while thickening the sauce.
02:02Once the sauce has turned thick and glossy, and the beef is no longer pink on the outside,
02:08take the pan off the heat.
02:09Here I have my bowl of cooked rice fresh out of the rice cooker. I'm just going to top it
02:14with some
02:15shredded cabbage for a little added crunch, then spooned beef and sauce on top.
02:21As you can probably see, the wasabi paste has given the teriyaki sauce a bit of a cloudy appearance.
02:28The texture is almost creamy, only leaving the aroma of wasabi.
02:33And you'll be surprised at how mild the wasabi flavour gets after just a few minutes on the heat.
02:40Sprinkle the top with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
02:47Then, for those like me who love a fiery kick, add a little extra wasabi on the side.
02:53And that's it, quick, easy and delicious wasabi infused teriyaki beef bowl.
02:59And I have a free mobile app now where you can easily follow the steps during the actual cooking.
