01:29who allegedly murdered the young man, Stephen Obamneme Nwosu on February 14, 2026.

01:36Valentine's Day, along Benin Agbo Road around Amufi Junction in Edo State, this, according to the family member who pleaded

01:44for her names not to be mentioned in the press,

01:48said her brother was shot dead by the soldier after the deceased refused to hand over his car key to

01:53the soldier as demanded, saying, her brother only went out with his friend,

01:57she identified as Godwin Coco to get chicken feed when they encountered the soldier at the failed portion of the

02:04road that is currently under construction,

02:06saying, the Nigerian army has refused to disclose the names of the soldier who allegedly committed the act of murder

02:13or take appropriate lawful actions against the suspected murderer,

02:17and in a swift reaction, when our reporter contacted the public relations officer of 4 Brigade of the Nigerian army,

02:26Captain Kennedy and Yan Muvaya phone call on Thursday evening,

02:30the military authority said it is not true that the soldier in question has not been identified,

02:35saying, the matter has been settled,

02:37and when our reporter demanded to know how the alleged murder case was settled with the family,

02:43the military authority refused to give details,

02:46also, when our reporter contacted the Edo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer,

02:55the police authority said the matter is under investigation and there is no way such matter can be swept under

03:05eyewitnesses said after her husband was shot and was in the pool of his blood,

03:14and that was when the soldier decided to take the victim to the hospital and the bereaved family was later

03:19told by an officer that her husband was pronounced dead at the hospital,

03:23but she and the family believed the officer is lying because,

03:27according to her,

03:28when the bereaved family visited the hospital,

03:30the earlier day after President Donald Trump of the United States of America,

03:34the USA announced the killing of Abu Bilal al-Minouki,

06:36and Kebi where abducted victims regained freedom following interventions by individuals such as Sheikh Ahmed Gumi,

06:43we therefore expect equal urgency and commitment in addressing the plight of the Ingosh victims,

06:48no region or group of citizens should be treated with less priority.

06:53In one of the recent videos sent by the Boko Haram terrorists to the Borno youths group,

06:59it may not be wrong to say one of the major root causes of crimes,

07:05poor healthcare,

07:07killings and avoidable deaths today in the world is superstitious beliefs mixed with severe psychological manipulation,

07:14religious and spiritual delusions that often lead to family members abandoning their loved ones,

07:20especially their parents for fear of being bewitched,

07:23doomed or suffered from the delusional curse or spells superstitiously believed had been placed on their parents,

07:29or loved ones,

07:31do also lead to the accused family members committing suicides or being banished,

07:43we have seen where individuals have committed murder or caused death due to acute spiritual delusions,

07:50these are often diagnosed as cases of religious psychosis,

07:54schizophrenia,

07:55or clinical lycanthropy,

07:57where the perpetrator cannot separate objective reality from spiritual hallucinations,

12:43and when they sighted it and were about to reverse,

12:45a soldier blocked them and told them to hand over the car key but they told him that they are

12:50sorry and will turn back.

12:52So,

12:52immediately he started turning the car,

12:55that got the soldier angry and the soldier started following him.

12:59My brother reversed the car and joined the other lane,

13:02and from the side mirror,

13:04my brother noticed that the soldier was running towards them and this time,

13:08there were two on a bike but one left,

13:10while the soldier that they had the conversation with was still following them with the bike man.

13:15At this point,

13:16he started using his belt on the car and even shot at the car.

13:19But my brother and his friend were still driving and when they got to hold up,

13:24they packed at a fuel station and started running by foot.

13:28While they were running,

13:30the soldier fired shots at them and the bullet landed on my brother's leg.

13:34And on a closed range,

13:36the soldier shot him again on the same leg.

13:38People around said that when the soldier shot my brother again at close range,

13:43they gathered him,

13:44but the soldier told them that the boy he shot was a robber,

13:47so they did not touch the soldier man.

13:50The soldier was the same person that carried the victim to the hospital but the hospital they mentioned,

13:57the doctor said he had no such patient.

13:59Edo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force,

14:03NPF has announced the arrest of some serving and already dismissed police officers

14:08who worked together as a criminal gang terrorizing members of the public in Edo State.

14:12The state commissioner of police,

14:15Monday Hagbonica who made this known in a press release made available a few hours ago,

14:20said the arrest was a major breakthrough against the suspected criminal elements

14:24pretending to be law enforcement offices to perpetrate heinous crimes within the state capital,

14:32It may be recalled that there have been outcry by residents in Edo State that law enforcement offices

14:38are committing or participating in criminal activities in the state,

14:42specifically,

14:43in August 2025,

14:44some of policemen alongside some civilians were accused of abducting a resident in Benin City,

14:51the syndicate was said to have used the silver Toyota Yaris to terrorize citizens,

14:56seizing their phones and belongings through intimidation and armed robbery,

14:59in December 2025,

15:02four policemen were accused of extorting 980,000 Nairas from a local artisan,

15:08Gudna Soneka,

15:09after assaulting him,

15:11earlier in September 2025.

15:13The Edo State Police Command reportedly recovered and returned 300,000 Nairas

15:19extorted from a furniture maker by offices attached to the Oba Market Area Command in Benin City,

15:26May 2025,

15:27six officers,

15:28including a chief superintendent of police,

15:31CSP,

15:32were summoned to Abuja after a viral video showed them demanding either 5,000 Nairas

15:38or 5 liters of fuel from motorists for lacking electronic central motor registry,

15:44ECMR proof,

15:46a policy that had actually been suspended then,

15:49also in August 2025,

15:51six officers were disciplined for extorting 2 million Nairas

15:55from members of the National Association of Seadogs near Benin City

15:59after they reportedly used the Point of Sale,

16:02POS,

16:03machine to withdraw the funds unlawfully.

16:41abduction, and extortion by individuals posing as police officers.

16:53forcefully convey them around various roads within Benin City,

16:57and eventually take them to point-of-sale,

16:59P.O.S. operators to fraudulently extort money from them under duress.

17:04Disturbed by the gravity of these allegations,

17:12immediately ordered a discrete and intelligence-driven investigation into the matter.

17:18technical intelligence,

17:20and coordinated operations by operatives of the command,

17:23the criminal network was successfully busted.

17:26The following suspects have been arrested in connection with the

19:58The captives expressed fear that a direct military assault on the camp where they are being held could result in

20:05They echoed the Bosia apparent sentiment,

20:08asking the government to use the same negotiation channels used in northern states like Zamfara, Katsina, Kebi, Sokoto, and Kaduna

20:17states.

20:18While the terrorists claimed in the video that they are not torturing the victims,

20:22the captives highlighted that many children are falling ill due to the harsh conditions of the forest and the lack

20:28of proper food and medicine.
