01:13Well, here on our ranch, it's becoming our everyday reality.

01:17And it all kicked off when we decided to bring artificial intelligence and we are not alone thinking this way.

01:24The whole field of agriculture is now turning to artificial intelligence.

01:29The market is expected to reach 11 billion dollars by 2030, growing at nearly 25 percent annually.

01:37I have decided not to wait for the future, but to start building it now.

01:41For generations, my family poured everything, our blood, sweat, and tears into this land.

01:47We have battled drought market fluctuations and constant challenges.

01:52Even finding a good ranch worker has been a big issue.

01:55Just a few years ago, I used toil while working on the fields carrying hay bales.

02:01It's beautiful now that I think back, but it was incredibly demanding.

02:05The non-stop pressure of things not running smoothly as they could.

02:09The task was eating up, precious hours and the constant worry about our animals and crops.

02:15We faced common challenges in agriculture, including labor shortages and unskilled workers.

02:22Managing hundreds of acres and caring for livestock health was a constant struggle.

02:27Another challenge was managing the data.

02:30We had information, but it was scattered across notebooks and computers.

02:34We recorded data in spreadsheets and stored some information mentally.

02:39But it wasn't connected, without a complete picture.

02:42We couldn't make informed decisions about optimized feeding.

02:46Tracking livestock feed, detecting early signs of illness.

02:50And harvesting crops had stalled.

02:53We focused on cutting costs and increasing profits.

02:57Although we had extensive experience,

02:59we lacked real-time information to guide our decisions.

03:03That was our breaking point.

03:05We needed to work smarter and be more efficient.

03:08We needed to not get by, but to really thrive and build something for the future.

03:13Faced with these challenges, we decided to explore what the future might bring.

03:17This led to the idea of integrating artificial intelligence

03:21into our traditional ranch operations.

03:24At first, it seemed like an impossible task,

03:27almost like science fiction.

03:29Our friends and other ranchers laughed at the idea.

03:32Oh yeah, eyebrows shot up so damn high they nearly hit the stratosphere.

03:44Like, are you telling me we've got machines roaming the damn pastures?

03:48Herding cattle like some C-Fi western?

03:50This ain't your grandma's farm anymore.

03:55Mind-blowingly insane tech taking over the wild frontier.

04:02Because I'm sure I can't.

04:04The more I researched, the more I saw great possibilities.

04:07I wasn't looking to replace human touch.

04:10I wanted to boost it, to give it superpowers.

04:13My journey to receiving the robot was emotional,

04:16and I want to share it with you.

04:18Let's welcome robot.

04:20Fred and experience firsthand what it feels like to connect with AI.

04:24Very early on the day of delivery,

04:26I stood on my porch with mixed feelings.

04:30I wasn't sure if I should be happy or just normal.

04:35But thinking back on the task, before Fred came along,

04:40whoa, I even named it already.

04:43Every sunrise, I was out there eating, fixing,

04:48figuring things out one hoof at a time.

04:51That's all I ever knew.

04:54Finally, I saw dust billows as the delivery truck,

04:59bringing Fred rattles to a halt at the ranch,

05:03disrupting the serene landscape.

05:06My workers strain as they wrestle a large,

05:10enigmatic metal crate from the truck's belly.

05:14I watched from a distance.

05:16I felt a mixture of curiosity and suspicion

05:20as the crate was unloaded.

05:23The crate was loaded in my barn,

05:26and as I approached it,

05:29I felt a silent promise of unknown wonders

05:33and potential dangers.

05:35I remember cautiously advancing toward the mysterious crate.

05:40The tension I felt was palpable.

05:44I unlocked it, and stepped out.

05:48Robot Fred, tall, sleek, eyes like two blue stars.

05:54This ranch ain't no sci-fi movie.

05:58What in the name of oats are you supposed to do?

06:02Robot Fred, a fish out of water,

06:07hilariously grapples with the rugged ranch life.

06:11Even my chickens scatter in a flurry of feathers,

06:15fleeing when Robot Fred's awkward attempts to feed them.

06:20And my workers laughed at the sight.

06:23I observed all its mishaps.

06:25It definitely tried, bless him.

06:29But he fed the goat's fertilize,

06:32nearly put my saddle in the washer,

06:34and scared my poor chickens into early retirement.

06:39And my farm equipment becomes instruments

06:42of comical destruction,

06:45amplifying the chaos.

06:48The first few days were total chaos.

06:52I even became frustrated.

06:54I remember shouting in a sharp rebuke,

06:58Fred, that's a water pump, not a soup pot.

07:03And Fred stands frozen.

07:05eyes wide with surprise

07:08hands still gripping the water pump,

07:11his actions suspended mid-motion.

07:15It will leave the tap running.

07:17I'm sure my ranch workers
