00:00I would pump the brakes a bit on whether we can get to an agreement in the near term.
00:05I think this is more a framework, is trying to establish a framework over the next few weeks and maybe
00:11months in order to eventually get to a longer term agreement.
00:16I think Field Marshal Asim Mounir has been a critical interlocutor between the U.S. and Iran.
00:24So the fact that he is on the ground and I believe it's Qatar is or is he in Tehran?
00:30I think he's in Tehran. But but Qatar is also involved in the negotiations now, which that in and of
00:36itself, I think, means that the negotiations are entering a more serious phase because any because Qatar has facilitated lots
00:45of negotiations in the past.
00:47And heretofore, they haven't really been involved, or at least it hasn't been noted publicly that they've been involved.
00:53And so I think that that means something is afoot. But what we're likely to see, if there's any agreement,
01:00is something that kicks the can down the road.
01:03Right. And and tries to get us back to some semblance of normalcy in the Persian Gulf.
01:09That would mean that Iran would end its blockade, that the U.S. would end its blockade, that the nuclear
01:18issue, they would agree to continue negotiating.
01:21You might see some sanctions relief as part of that. You may see Iran make other concessions as part of
01:28that.
01:28But, I mean, it's really unclear how they get at the core issue, which is Iran's nuclear program.
01:35And I think at a 1A level of priority, the Strait of Hormuz closure for the Trump administration.
01:44How do they kind of get all of that into the same negotiating channel?
01:49That's really been the challenge. But I mean, it is a good sign nonetheless.
