BY JAIANSH SHARMA
Check out this dramatic moment heavy rain and flash flooding overwhelm a New York City subway station, turning the entrance stairs into a cascading waterfall.
Isaac Boateng, from New York, USA captured the shocking scene inside a Brooklyn-bound 2 train at Grand Army Plaza Station in Brooklyn, New York on the 20th May.
The video shows massive amounts of stormwater rushing down the station staircase and pouring onto the subway platform below.
Passengers inside the train can be seen filming the scene on their phones in disbelief as water surges through the station in waves.
As the train pulls into the flooded platform, the station’s automated announcement can still be heard instructing riders to “stand clear of the closing doors” amid the chaos.
Viewers reacted with frustration in the comments.
One wrote: “This is what happens when you don’t modernize your infrastructure.”
Another added: “In the most expensive city and this is what we’re dealing with — absurd.”
