00:05ДИНАМИЧНАЯ МУЗЫКА
00:30And now in 2026, Brown and Maxi headline the latest edition of this playoff rivalry.
00:37One right now has Boston up three games to one.
00:41As we welcome you to NBA Courtside, presented by Michelob Ultra.
00:46There's the Eastern Conference brackets.
00:48Cavs and Raptors all deadlocked.
00:50Same with the Knicks and the Hawks.
00:52And, of course, the magic surprising everyone.
00:54They're up three games to one.
00:57And good evening, everyone, along with Richard Jefferson and Tim Legler.
01:00Mike Green on hand.
01:01Lisa Salter is with us as well.
01:03It's been an interesting series.
01:04They split the first two games, then game three, a one-point game with two minutes to go.
01:09Celtics hit big shots, and then they dominated in game four
01:12and have that commanding three games to one lead.
01:14So, Legs, let's start with the Boston Celtics.
01:17You know, clearly we've seen the numbers the stars are putting up,
01:19but they're playing some beautiful team basketball.
01:21What are you seeing from them?
01:22Well, you are right.
01:23They get it up and down their entire roster,
01:25and they represent a unique challenge for defenses.
01:28You have to give maximum effort, but you also have to have maximum communication
01:32because they can just shoot you out of the game,
01:35and that's exactly what happened in game four.
01:37When they get rolling like this,
01:39and they're forcing you to play catch-up to the basketball
01:42in their half-court offense,
01:44most likely you're never going to get there.
01:47They spread you out, they beat you off the dribble,
01:49and then they move it to the open shooter,
01:52and you can take a look at what they did to the Sixers on Sunday,
01:55and they didn't make their first three until late in the first quarter,
01:59still ended up with 24 makes,
02:01which is a record for the playoffs for this story franchise.
02:05An incredible performance for the Celtics.
02:07Meanwhile, for the Sixers, they finally got Joel Embiid back.
02:10He put up impressive individual numbers,
02:12but they didn't get what they hoped for from a team standpoint, Richard.
02:15All right, so now to have the series go back to Philly,
02:18what's the key for them?
02:19Well, Joel Embiid is a former MVP in this league,
02:23but the most important player on this 76-13 is Tyrese Maxey.
02:28You can't have your most important player
02:30taking four shots in the first half.
02:33He's got to push the pace.
02:35He's got to find early threes in transition.
02:38This will keep the Celtics on their heels,
02:41finding easy buckets.
02:42He also has to push the pace to create for Vijay Edgeko,
02:46finding angles, finding lanes.
02:48That is the most important part
02:50for the early transition of this 76ers team.
02:54At the end of the day,
02:55Joel Embiid has to be the highest level
02:57complementary player to this supreme backcourt.
03:00Those are the numbers for the starting backcourt,
03:02but 34 minutes for Embiid.
03:04He will be back in the starting lineup tonight
03:06with more on that.
03:07Let's check in with Lisa Salters.
03:08Hey, Lisa.
03:08Hey, Mike.
03:09Well, we're told that Joel Embiid has had no issues
03:12after playing in game four on Sunday,
03:14coming back after less than three weeks
03:17after that emergency appendectomy.
03:19So with Embiid once again on the floor,
03:21the focus for Philadelphia,
03:22how to get a different result in game five.
03:25Embiid said before Sunday's game,
03:27he'd only gotten up and down the court once
03:29since the surgery back on April 9th.
03:31So even he was a little surprised
03:33that he was able to play 34 minutes.
03:35But according to the Sixers,
03:36Embiid's body has responded well.
03:38He will not be on a minute's restriction tonight.
03:41And as for once again,
03:42not being 100% healthy for the playoffs,
03:45Embiid said it stinks.
03:46But he said, what can you do about it?
03:48Crime?
03:49No.
03:49He said, I've just got to deal with it and move on.

04:21Welcome to the NBA Playoffs,
04:23presented by Google.
04:24We are here in Boston for the first round,
04:27presented by Popeyes.
04:29After Jason Tatum suffered a season-ending Achilles injury
04:32during last year's playoffs,
04:33it seemed unlikely that Tatum and Jalen Brown
04:36would be able to make another postseason run together this soon.
04:39And yet, here they are.
04:41Since becoming teammates nine years ago,
04:43the Jays have ushered in a new era of playoff success
04:45here in Boston,
04:46having won 77 postseason games and 15 playoff series.
04:50A win tonight would make that 16
04:53and would give them an 8-1 record together
04:56in the first round.
04:57Tonight will be their 25th closeout game together.
05:01Tatum has averaged 25 points in the previous 24.
05:04Brown, 20.2.
05:06Line up and tip, coming up.
05:11NBA first round is presented by Popeyes.
05:15Love that chicken from Popeyes.
05:26Getting here takes everything.
05:28Nothing is guaranteed.
05:29We're not guaranteed to win the next game.
05:30We just got to come out and play and earn it.
05:32He did it again!
05:34They smothered the Sixers in back-to-back games.
05:36But staying requires more.
05:38You know, our season of the Lions,
05:39we got to play desperate.
05:41Intensity is a part of the moment.
05:42The obvious shows cancel.
05:44Like, if we're not playing with that kind of aggression,
05:46we don't want it bad enough.
05:48In the moment, it's inevitable.
05:50De'Aaron Fox, unconscious.
05:54Area 51, reverse slam.
05:56We knew that this would be a big game,
05:57a game that they wanted.
05:58When we're physical and we're playing our game,
06:00we're great.
06:00We can't let them punch us back.
06:02A game for the season.
06:04To conclude or continue.
06:06Are you going to give up
06:07or are you going to try to come back?
06:11To take the next step,
06:14stay present.
06:16Job's not done.
06:17You still got another game to win.
06:19Game 5?
06:20Game 5, baby.
06:21Let's go.
06:24Rocker once again.
06:25Boston, Massachusetts
06:27for Game 5
06:28between the Celtics
06:30and the Sixers.
06:32They're hoping for a
06:33clinching first-round game
06:34tonight for Boston
06:35and for Philadelphia
06:36hoping to send it
06:37back to Philadelphia.
06:39Tonight's starting lineups
06:40are brought to you by
06:42Metro
06:42by T-Mobile.
06:44You look at that
06:45starting five for the Sixers.
06:46That is a really talented
06:47starting five.
06:49The question has always been
06:50if healthy.
06:51Meanwhile, for the Celtics,
06:52this team all season long
06:54has been one of the
06:54real stories of the NBA.
06:57Fourth best record
06:58and now with a chance
06:59to move on to the second round
07:00on their home floor.
07:02But as we've seen,
07:03if anything,
07:04from this first round
07:05of the playoffs,
07:07unpredictable surprises.
07:08So you never know.
07:10And certainly getting
07:12over the mental up.
07:12So let me ask you guys
07:14to start.
07:15You're down 3-1.
07:16You just got pummeled
07:17in the last game.
07:18What's your mental take
07:19as you come on the floor
07:20tonight if you're the Sixers?
07:21Well, for me,
07:22in this situation,
07:23it's one game at a time.
07:24We believe that
07:26in the first game,
07:27we're going to be okay
07:27with Joel Embiid,
07:29but in the second game,
07:30we're going to be even better.
07:31So extending this series,
07:32win one game here in Boston
07:34and then believe
07:35that you can continue
07:35handling business
07:36as it progresses.
07:37Well, there's really
07:38two things here
07:39for Philadelphia.
07:40One component is
07:41your competitive spirit.
07:42Are you here
07:43with the right mindset
07:45to keep your season alive?
07:46But then it's also
07:47some of the technical things
07:49you need to clean up
07:50to defend this team better
07:52and be more efficient
07:53offensively.
07:54Of course,
07:54one of the keys
07:55for Philadelphia,
07:56get off to a better start
07:57as we see our crew.
07:59That's Brian Forte
08:00with James Williams
08:01and Kevin Scott
08:02here tonight
08:02as the game
08:04the other night
08:04in Philadelphia
08:05was 34-18
08:07after the first quarter.
08:08A real rough start
08:09for the Sixers.
08:12Tyrese Maxey,
08:13who has had
08:13some spectacular
08:14playoff games
08:16in his young career,
08:17they'll need
08:18one of those tonight
08:18to keep their season alive.
08:21Embiid guarded by Kata,
08:23steps back inside the arc,
08:24first shot will go,
08:25Tatum the rebound.
08:26I don't love
08:27that first possession
08:28by Philly.
08:29I like to see
08:30Joel Embiid either
08:31get it closer
08:32to the block
08:32or maybe run something
08:34for Tyrese Maxey
08:35to get him an early look.
08:36Derek White
08:37comes out short,
08:38Maxey looking to push.
08:39Sixers had a lot of success
08:41in their lone victory
08:42game two right here
08:43in Boston
08:44when they push the tempo.
08:46Maxey finding some room
08:47back out to Embiid,
08:49nobody near him.
08:50Passes up the shot,
08:51Paul George drives
08:52and hits the three.
08:53And that's what they need.
08:54It's Tyrese Maxey
08:56initiating it.
08:57Joel Embiid had an open shot,
08:58he passed for a better shot.
09:00That's how you can still
09:01use Joel Embiid
09:02but not basically
09:03focus on him
09:04in the offensive side.
09:06And the Sixers
09:07need Paul George
09:08to be aggressive
09:09offensively.
09:10McNerr says that's a key
09:11as Derek White's floater
09:12goes down.
09:15They're in a regular season.
09:17Boston,
09:17one of the best
09:18home teams in the NBA,
09:2030 and 11.
09:21Sixers were a good,
09:21solid road team
09:22during the season,
09:2322 and 19.
09:24And again,
09:24they won game two here.
09:27Oubre wide open.
09:28That one in and out.
09:33And of course,
09:34often a key
09:34when you play
09:35the Celtics,
09:36the opponent needs
09:37to hit their threes.
09:38That was a good
09:39wide open shot.
09:41Tatum to Brown.
09:44Brown guarded by Oubre.
09:45Oubre, the spin,
09:46the pull-up,
09:47comes up short.
09:49Edgecombe looks to push.
09:52The rookie had that
09:54sensational game
09:55but since then
09:56has struggled.
09:59Here's Oubre,
10:00goes right at Brown.
10:01Dot is up and good.
10:02That's a strong move.
10:03Really tight curl
10:04off of that action
10:05with Embiid in the corner.
10:07Kelly Oubre did not
10:08have to come out
10:08at the three-point line.
10:09He saw all that space
10:10in the lane
10:11and then just
10:11use his shoulder,
10:13create that space
10:13at the end.
10:14Oubre didn't have
10:15a field goal
10:16in game four.
10:16It was 0 for 6.
10:18Nice to see him
10:18get started for the Sixers.
10:20Tatum launches that one.
10:21Shot won't go.
10:22Kata keeps it alive.
10:23They get a new 14.
10:25Hauser from outside
10:26Embiid the rebound.
10:27And they talked about
10:28the offensive rebounds
10:30and then the three-point
10:31shot coming off of that.
10:33Offensive rebounds
10:34can be deflating
10:35as you see Paul George
10:36looking like he wants
10:38to be aggressive
10:38early here tonight.
10:40But that offensive
10:41rebound,
10:41that's deflating.
10:42When it's combined
10:43with knocking down
10:44a three,
10:44those are full-on
10:45momentum plays
10:46that can take
10:46the juice out of the team.
10:49Foul called
10:50on Philadelphia
10:50to be a side out.
10:52Paul George,
10:52you know he already
10:53hit one,
10:53so he's not going
10:54to need much space
10:55or time to get it off.
10:57You see Jason Tatum
10:58just a little bit casual
10:59there on the catch
11:00by Paul George.
11:01If you're playing
11:02somebody like that,
11:02a scorer that's
11:03already got one to go,
11:05you need to make sure
11:05that that space
11:06is closed down
11:07on the catch.
11:08And a moving screen
11:09called Hauser.
11:10By the way,
11:11Paul George
11:12obviously didn't play
11:13a lot of games,
11:14only 37 during
11:15the regular season,
11:16but when he scored
11:1620 or more,
11:1712 times,
11:18they were 10-2.
11:20Now sometimes those numbers
11:21are a little wacky,
11:22but there's no question
11:23that they are such
11:24a better team
11:25when he's aggressive
11:26offensively.
11:26Well, that's why
11:27you pay him the money,
11:28that's why he's been
11:29all NBA,
11:30that's why he's been
11:30MVP candidate.
11:31His talent as a wing,
11:33he's a three-level scorer,
11:35and he's a two-way player.
11:36He does everything,
11:37so when he plays well,
11:38it is not a surprise
11:39that Philly has
11:40a successful record.
11:42Tatum with Embiid on him,
11:43little jab step.
11:46Embiid that big right arm,
11:48Tatum,
11:48and Oubre the rebound.
11:55Edgcombe goes at Houser,
11:56gets in the paint,
11:57throws it up,
11:57shot no good,
11:58ball kept alive,
11:59but Kata comes away.
12:03Jalen Brown
12:05stops inside,
12:06tried to get it to Kata
12:07and threw it out,
12:07so a sloppy start
12:08for the Celtics.
12:09Yeah, not much room there
12:11for Jalen Brown.
12:12He thought he was going
12:13to be able to get
12:13into a little pull-up.
12:15Philadelphia closed on him,
12:16but then the spacing
12:17was poor.
12:18No opportunity
12:19to get it to Kata.
12:20That's just a ball
12:20that's not catchable
12:21for him.
12:22One for six
12:23and two turnovers
12:24for Boston.
12:26George looking for a shot
12:27early and often.
12:28Not that time.
12:29Got a good look.
12:30Tatum grabs it.
12:31And I don't think
12:31there is a number
12:32that Paul George
12:33could take tonight
12:33from the three-point line
12:34that Nick Nurse
12:35would have a problem with.
12:36He wants him to be
12:37as aggressive
12:38as he can be.
12:40Jalen Brown,
12:40now nobody stepped
12:42in front to help.
12:43A layup line dunk
12:45for Jalen Brown.
12:46And B,
12:48and he tries the three.
12:51And that's okay.
12:52When you talked
12:52about Paul George,
12:53if you're down
12:54in a closeout game
12:55on the road,
12:56you do not want
12:57to be passive.
12:57You want to go out
12:58aggressive.
12:59You want to be physical.
13:01Leave it all
13:02on the thing.
13:03Edgecombe,
13:05chased off the line
13:06by White.
13:07Kelly Oubre
13:08laboring a little bit
13:09as he comes up the floor.
13:10Looked like he
13:11banged his leg.
13:12Maxey to spin.
13:13The turn.
13:13The jumper is good.
13:14Maxey with his first
13:15shot goes down.
13:16You guys mentioned
13:17it at the top
13:18of the telecast.
13:18He only took three shots
13:19in the first half
13:20of game four.
13:2126 average field goal
13:23attempts in the first
13:24three games.
13:24Joel Embiid returned
13:25in game four.
13:26He took half as many.
13:27Only 14 shots
13:29for Tyrese Maxey
13:30in that fourth game.
13:32Boston starts
13:33two for nine
13:34from the field.
13:35Kata trying to guard
13:35Maxey.
13:36Embiid's left alone.
13:38Embiid this time
13:39can't get it.
13:40He was one for six
13:41from three
13:41the other night.
13:42His first game back.
13:43Derek White brings it up.
13:47Back to Kata.
13:50Better transition
13:51defense from Philly.
13:52That was a real problem
13:54according to Nick Nurse
13:55in game four.
13:56Kata's shot
13:57is up and good.
14:00Great delivery there
14:01by Derek White.
14:02He gave it to him
14:03late,
14:03which meant that
14:05Kata had an opportunity
14:06to roll closer
14:06to the rim
14:07for that short
14:08little push shot
14:09that's within his range.
14:11Paul George
14:12kicks it back out.
14:13Maxey
14:15in motion.
14:16Can't get it.
14:16Kata grabs another rebound.
14:17He's got four already.
14:24around the spin move.
14:25Maxey trying to stay with him.
14:27Brown looking to post up
14:28deflected by George.
14:29Picked up by Kata
14:30but he couldn't hold on.
14:32And that's three turnovers
14:33for Boston.
14:35Maxey to Embiid.
14:37Tries another one.
14:38Can't get him to fall.
14:40He's 0 for 3
14:41from 3.
14:42And a timeout call.
14:43Joe Mazzullo
14:44does not like the start.
14:46And we talked in the open
14:47how Tyrese Maxey,
14:49he is really the engine,
14:51comes off this pick and roll.
14:53Look at the spin
14:54going at the big.
14:55Just a soft little touch.
15:05Here, right?
15:07When Kata decides
15:08that he's guarding Maxey.
15:09In this spot,
15:10there is nobody
15:11on the right side
15:12of the floor
15:13that can guard Joel Embiid.
15:14Even if it's not a roll,
15:16it's a ducket.
15:17It could be Derek White
15:18or Jason Tatum.
15:19I'm not going to complain
15:20about this shot
15:21for Joel Embiid
15:22but could the 76ers
15:24get a more impactful shot
15:26in that moment
15:27with that attention
15:28that Tyrese Maxey guards
15:29and the answer is yes.
15:31See some of the numbers.
15:33Meanwhile, Embiid
15:33in the first game back,
15:3615 of his 21 field goal attempts
15:38were outside the paint.
15:43George chasing Tatum.
15:44Tatum gets into the paint,
15:46floats it out.
15:47Jalen Brown.
15:48Oubre right with him.
15:49Tough fallaway shot.
15:50Got it.
15:51And you know,
15:52obviously they're capable
15:54of making those shots.
15:55They got a couple
15:55of great one-on-one
15:57mid-range players
15:57but I like the fact
15:59that Philly's not going
15:59to overcommit to the lane
16:01to open up
16:02the three-point shooting.
16:04George to Edgecombe.
16:05The rookie fires away,
16:06knocks down the three
16:07and that's a huge relief for him.
16:10He had, again,
16:11that spectacular game
16:13when he had the 30 points
16:14in game two
16:16but 0 for 16
16:17in the other three games
16:19from three-point range.
16:22Now guarding Tatum.
16:23Now guarding Tatum.
16:23Jumper.
16:24Short.
16:24Oubre the rebound.
16:30Maxie and White.
16:31That's a fun matchup.
16:32Great offensive player.
16:34Great defensive player.
16:36Maxie to Embiid.
16:37Finds Oubre.
16:39Oubre's going to try
16:40a three-pointer.
16:42And you respect it again.
16:45Ten of their 15 shots
16:46have been from three.
16:48Eleven, excuse me,
16:48of their 15 shots
16:49have been from three
16:50as Jason Tatum
16:51gets the easy lay.
16:53Nick Nurse,
16:54we had a great conversation.
16:55He wants them to be
16:56more aggressive from three.
16:58They beat the Celtics
16:59three times
17:00and they've adjudged
17:0136 three-point attempts
17:02in those three wins.
17:04And he gets the mid-range jumper.
17:05And look how much better
17:07that was to your point.
17:08He didn't just stay
17:09at the three-point line.
17:10There is space there
17:11he can eat up
17:12for a much higher
17:13percentage shot.
17:15Rolls off the rim
17:16and Embiid grabs the rebound.
17:18Embiid, by the way,
17:18has four assists already.
17:20Edgecombe goes right
17:21at Pritchard.
17:22Tried a banker.
17:22Couldn't get it to go.
17:23Ball batted out.
17:25Jalen Brown the other way.
17:26Sixers get back.
17:27That has clearly been
17:28a priority here
17:29to start game five.
17:32Tayden, the hesitation.
17:35Nearly stripped by Oubre.
17:36Gets it back.
17:37Lays it up and in.
17:40The numbers he is putting up
17:41in this playoff series
17:43like he did in the last 16 games
17:45of the regular season
17:46are just extraordinary.
17:49Well, how about coming back
17:50from this injury,
17:51putting up similar numbers
17:53to his career playoff numbers,
17:54but even shooting at a higher rate
17:57and rebounding at a higher rate.
17:59Brown misses.
18:00Oubre the board.
18:05Andre Drummond set to check in
18:08for Philadelphia.
18:09Several substitutes for Boston
18:10as Embiid gets inside.
18:12Flips it up.
18:12Shot won't go.
18:13Tatum grabs the rebound.
18:15Tatum has been averaging
18:16nine rebounds a game
18:18in the playoffs.
18:19Kata couldn't finish it.
18:20Gets it back
18:21and throws it down.
18:23Like everybody stopped.
18:25What was that?
18:26I think they stopped
18:28because they thought
18:29he was hanging on the rim
18:30too long
18:31and maybe they were going to
18:32call offensive basket
18:33interference.
18:34They didn't.
18:35Kata just played on
18:36and cleaned up his own miss.
18:38Here's Pritchard coming off
18:39that 30-point,
18:4132-point masterpiece
18:42in game four.
18:44Brown against Edgecombe.
18:46Found it and a foul.
18:48Edgecombe's a really good
18:49young defender,
18:50but that's a tough
18:51one-on-one matchup.
18:52Yeah, that's a tough matchup.
18:53That was a bully ball
18:54right there.
18:59And Jalen Brown,
19:00he takes his time.
19:02When you got the size advantage,
19:03you got to use it.
19:04That works on both sides.
19:06Gets to that hard right hand,
19:07gets the end one.
19:17Interesting play
19:18as Kata misses the slam,
19:21continues to hold on to the rim
19:24and then touches the ball
19:26with that left hand on.
19:27We're going to bring in
19:28referee expert Steve Javi.
19:29Steve, is that illegal
19:30what we just saw there?
19:32Well, first of all,
19:33Mike, it's really unusual.
19:34That's number one.
19:35I don't see that too frequently,
19:37but if the ball was touching
19:39the rim or going through the basket
19:41or else, you know,
19:43as he's still holding on to the rim,
19:44I would say then it would be
19:45offensive basket interference.
19:47Here, does he touch the ball
19:48while he's holding on to the rim?
19:50Yes, but the ball is below rim level.
19:52He doesn't gain any advantage height-wise,
19:54so I don't see any violation there at all.
19:57Brian Forte, the official.
19:59Thank you, Steve.
19:59Brian Forte, the official,
20:00saying as long as he wasn't touching the rim
20:02when he grabbed the ball,
20:03but it appeared,
20:04I mean, we're slowing it down.
20:06We're going to frame,
20:07but that is a bizarre play,
20:09and everybody seems to just stop on it.
20:12In your 100 years of watching basketball,
20:13Mike, have you ever seen anything like that?
20:15You know, I saw it back in 1897.
20:17There was a simmer.
20:20One-point play for Philadelphia.
20:24Richard, Quentin Grimes in.
20:26Richard kicks it out in the corner.
20:28Shireman knocks down.
20:30First shot of the night for Shireman.
20:33And their first three,
20:35and Peyton Pritchard hit their first three
20:37in game four,
20:38and it opened the floodgates
20:40after a pretty,
20:40I thought, lethargic start
20:42by the Celtics offensively.
20:44Shireman comes in and gets him going.
20:46Maxey against Walsh.
20:48Walsh, an excellent defender,
20:50but Maxey able to knock down
20:51his third field goal.
20:53Vucevic, Walsh, Shireman,
20:55and Pritchard all off the bench.
20:58Drummond Grimes off the bench
21:00for Philadelphia.
21:02Vucevic back out.
21:03Shireman.
21:05Showing some handle there.
21:09Here's Pritchard on the drive.
21:10Falling away.
21:12Shot is good.
21:13He was magnificent
21:14in game four.
21:16Especially with the Stars
21:18had a slow start.
21:19Not Pritchard.
21:22Self-licks up two.
21:25Maxey launches.
21:27Can't connect.
21:31Sixers just three of 13
21:33from three-point range.
21:34Celtics, meanwhile,
21:35there's one of seven.
21:37Both teams are much better
21:38inside the arc.
21:40Vucevic can't hit.
21:41Walsh goes high for the rebound.
21:47Maxey trying to stay in front
21:48of Jalen Brown.
21:49Vucevic tries another corner three.
21:51Yet another miss
21:52as George the rebound.
21:54Some awful three-point shooting
21:56from both teams.
21:57As we hit a minute remaining
21:59here on the first.
22:02George has the height advantage
22:03on Pritchard.
22:06Pritchard, though,
22:06he battles on those.
22:08And Walsh the rebound.
22:11How much fun is it
22:13to watch Peyton Pritchard
22:13play on both ends?
22:15Well, he just hasn't.
22:16He has an aggressiveness.
22:18He has an intention
22:19to what he does.
22:20He has an outstanding handle.
22:21It's not a crazy handle
22:23to get open,
22:23but it's hard to take
22:24the ball away from him.
22:26Didn't have a turnover
22:27in game four.
22:28Vucevic inside!
22:30Left-handed slam!
22:32Nick Vucevic required in March.
22:36Actually in February
22:37from Chicago.
22:38An excellent move there.
22:40A couple of times now,
22:41Andre Drummond
22:42has been caught up
22:43in these situations
22:44where he's trying to
22:45close out at the three-point line.
22:47He tried to guard
22:47Peyton Pritchard on a switch
22:49on the last possession.
22:50Boston took advantage
22:51both times.
22:51Oh, the speed
22:52of Tyrese Maxey.
22:54Talking about guys
22:54that are fun to watch.
22:55He is just catapulting himself
22:57into the upper echelon
22:59in the NBA.
23:00What a star.
23:02Maxey with eight points
23:04here in the first quarter.
23:06Celtics a two-point lead.
23:07Round of Vucevic.
23:09Vucevic very aggressive
23:10looking for a shot.
23:11He's a good three-point shooter
23:12as the first quarter
23:13comes to an end.
23:15He's got some horrible
23:17three-point shooting.
23:19Some pretty good defense
23:20and a two-point game.
23:23Boston leaving this series
23:25three games to one,
23:26but the Sixers
23:27a much better start
23:28than they had in game four.
23:41Boston Celtics lead
23:4223-21.
23:48Tatum, Luke Garza.
23:50Luke Garza getting some time
23:51as Tatum fires away.
23:52Can't get it.
23:53Rebound Barlow.
23:54Dominic Barlow who just
23:55checked in.
23:56Barlow and Bede.
23:57Maxey.
23:57Quentin Grimes and Edgecombe.
24:06Grimes on the drive.
24:07And Bede left wide open.
24:09Trying to get one of these
24:10three to go down.
24:11That one's still off the mark.
24:13He's now one of seven
24:14and 0 for four from three.
24:16And he could have walked
24:17right into the elbow
24:18for that kick out.
24:19It didn't have to stay
24:20at 28 feet.
24:21After Grimes did his job,
24:23Embiid should have had
24:24a much easier shot.
24:27Garza can't hit.
24:28White almost kept it alive,
24:30but Barlow poked it away.
24:36Maxey.
24:37Hard screen.
24:39And an offensive foul call
24:40on Embiid.
24:41Gordon Walsh ran into him.
24:44I don't know if I like that call.
24:46I do not know if I like that call.
24:48Joel Embiid's there.
24:50He hit.
24:52Yes, I don't think
24:53that that's the right call.
24:54I agree with you.
24:55Nick Nurse is looking back
24:56and seeing whether or not
24:57he's going to challenge.
24:57He's probably going to save it.
24:58Was it an extra arm?
24:59Is that what we saw?
25:01Yeah, I think the right leg
25:02started to go out
25:03beyond the shoulders.
25:04I agree with you.
25:05That's close.
25:06There's a lot of them like that
25:07during the course of the game.
25:08Count it.
25:09A foul.
25:09Pitcher drives hard.
25:11Banks at home
25:12and a chance for a three-point play.
25:17He's just so quick
25:18to the rim right here.
25:19A little slight hesitation
25:21is what throws Embiid,
25:23who's backpedaling
25:24the entire time
25:24and we know Embiid
25:25doesn't have quite the same
25:26lifter explosiveness
25:27as a rim protector.
25:29Hayden Pritchard right there.
25:31He took the action
25:32right to him.
25:33About as physical
25:34as a guy his size
25:35is going to be
25:36on a finish.
25:37Pritchard coming back
25:38off the bench again
25:39because of the injuries.
25:40He's started 50 games
25:42this year.
25:42Of course, last year,
25:43sixth man of the year.
25:46Impact's winning.
25:46No matter where he comes
25:48off the bench
25:48at the start of the game.
25:50Middle of the first.
25:52Embiid, by the way,
25:53two quick fouls here
25:53in the second.
25:54Now, goes down low,
25:56gets inside
25:57and banks at home.
25:58Well, this is the thing.
25:59That's a lot harder to do.
26:01It takes more out of you.
26:02There's more physicality
26:03and Joel Embiid
26:04has all of that
26:05but it does take
26:06a lot more energy
26:07out of the big fella
26:08to play that level
26:09of aggression.
26:10Garza floats it up there
26:12and Garza gets it a fall.
26:14Garza's had a nice year
26:16his first year in Boston.
26:17It's been in and out
26:18of the rotation
26:18but it's had really
26:19good stretches.
26:22Trying to guard Embiid again.
26:24Here comes the double team
26:25by White.
26:27Edgecombe lines up
26:28that three-pointer.
26:29Can't get it to go.
26:31Barlow comes up
26:32with a loose ball.
26:33You've been doing that
26:34all season.
26:34His Grimes pulls back out.
26:39Shot clock at seven.
26:42Embiid's seeing the double team
26:43and that smooth jumper
26:45rattles around and goes through.
26:46You want me to take this?
26:47You want me to take this?
26:48I mean, that's all he has to do
26:50really is catch the ball
26:50at 18 feet, turn square up
26:52and he's got a natural
26:54little lean back.
26:54He can get that shot off
26:56against Kato or Garza
26:57anytime he wants.
26:59Derrick White to Walsh.
27:01Walsh off the bounce.
27:02White was open in the corner.
27:03He didn't see him
27:04so Pritchard drives
27:05and Pritchard finishes again.
27:09Payton Pritchard
27:10doing what Payton Pritchard
27:11does but also Embiid.
27:12He gets one post up.
27:13He goes to the post up again.
27:15They double team him
27:16and creates open shot
27:17for his teammates.
27:19Embiid has Pritchard on him.
27:21Seven foot against
27:226-2.
27:23White goes to double.
27:24Grimes fakes.
27:26Grimes drives.
27:27Stolen by Tatum.
27:29Edgecombe in pursuit.
27:30Tatum goes inside.
27:32Lays it up and in.
27:33Took a bump
27:34and still got it to go.
27:41Well, good defense
27:42from Garza.
27:43Now one-on-one
27:44with Embiid.
27:45Backs in.
27:46Trying to draw a foul
27:47and he does.
27:52Well, here's the mistake.
27:53Embiid drew two.
27:55Quentin Grimes
27:56ends up catching it
27:56and taking it right back
27:57where all the traffic is
27:59and now with everybody
28:00flat on the baseline,
28:01there's no balance
28:03to get back in transition
28:04off of that turnover.
28:06So the Sixers will shoot
28:07their first free throw
28:08of the game.
28:09Again, they're three of 15
28:11from three-point range.
28:13They're eight for 14
28:14from inside the arc.
28:16Very efficient inside,
28:17just not able
28:18to knock down threes.
28:21And Embiid so far,
28:22six points,
28:23four assists,
28:24couple of rebounds.
28:28The remaining series schedule.
28:30Game six,
28:31if necessary,
28:32Thursday in Philly,
28:33and then game seven
28:34would be Saturday
28:35here in Boston
28:36if the Sixers
28:37can win the next two.
28:38And it'll be on
28:39Peacock and NBC.
28:41So Joel Embiid struggles
28:42from three
28:43just to start the game.
28:44He gets one post up,
28:46he scores.
28:47The next post up,
28:48they double-team.
28:49Right?
28:50So when you start to see it,
28:51and then on the next post up,
28:53he gets fouled.
28:54So that's really the key.
28:55The three
28:56is when you want
28:57to space the floor.
28:58It shouldn't be dependent
28:59on how you want to play.
29:02You've got to start
29:02in the post,
29:03work your way out.
29:04Remember he had
29:05the appendectomy
29:05on April 9th
29:07and 17 days later
29:08he's playing
29:09in an NBA playoff game.
29:11Had not played
29:12since April the 6th.
29:14And he only played
29:1538 games
29:16during the regular season.
29:20And we'll say this,
29:21I don't know
29:21a lot of people
29:22that would have played
29:23that quickly
29:23after an appendectomy.
29:24Yeah, you have to
29:25pat him on the back
29:26for that.
29:26Look, the guy
29:27wanted to fight
29:27to get back here
29:28with his team.
29:30Talked a lot
29:30about the style changing,
29:31but that's...
29:33As...
29:34Gusevich knocks
29:34one down from three.
29:36And Bede fought
29:37to get back here
29:38with his guys.
29:39You have to give him
29:39some credit for that.
29:41Celtic bench has been strong.
29:4217 points
29:43from the bench already.
29:46Lead is up to nine.
29:47Largest lead here
29:48in the first half.
29:49Edge come up
29:49and under fouled
29:50by White.
29:58And there's been
29:59so many great
30:01midseason pickups,
30:02especially from
30:03the Chicago Bulls
30:04if we were
30:05going to be deliberate.
30:06But Vucevic,
30:07multi-time All-Star,
30:08shooting big,
30:09double-double machine,
30:10was injured,
30:12hurt his finger,
30:13so he didn't get
30:14the full acclimation time,
30:15but he is a big,
30:16important piece
30:17of this Celtics team.
30:1915th year is mentioned,
30:20and he's never been
30:22out of the first round
30:24and real opportunity.
30:25He's been a pro's pro
30:26no matter where
30:27where he's played.
30:28Chicago, Orlando,
30:30Chicago, Orlando,
30:31and now here in Boston.
30:32Just a guy,
30:33a double-double
30:36on a lot of seasons.
30:37He's had an excellent career,
30:38and this could be
30:39his first time
30:40advancing far in the playoffs.
30:41Very skilled
30:42offensive player.
30:43Think about this.
30:43He's averaged
30:44in the regular season.
30:4615 points,
30:4710 rebounds,
30:48at least 10 different times.
30:49That's a guy
30:50that's just got
30:51a lot of skill,
30:52and he fits in
30:53with this style
30:54because of his ability
30:55to shoot the three.
30:58Magic him one of two.
31:00Eight-point lead
31:00for the Celtics.
31:01About four minutes
31:02gone by here
31:03in the second.
31:04Marlowe trying
31:05to guard Pritchard.
31:09Derrick White
31:09comes off the screen.
31:10White goes inside.
31:12Oh, beautiful adjustment
31:14from Derrick White
31:14and gets an easy bucket.
31:16It's a 10-point lead.
31:23Shyman guarding Paul George.
31:25Doesn't quick spin move,
31:27and Paul George
31:28aggressively goes to the rim.
31:29He's got eight points.
31:31That's a ridiculous move.
31:33He bodies him,
31:34and then when he closes the gap,
31:36he spins off him.
31:37That's just so tough
31:38if you're a defender.
31:40Tatum, foul.
31:43Now watch this body.
31:44Watch this body right here
31:46to get some space,
31:47and then when he gets the body
31:49to get space.
31:50Now when he feels him
31:51close to space,
31:52that's when he goes.
31:53That is a master class
31:55in low post game
31:56by Paul George.
31:58He's averaging 17.5 points
32:00per game in this series,
32:01but for them to win,
32:03he needs to,
32:05not necessarily score,
32:07but look for his shot
32:08and just be aggressive.
32:09Yeah, Nick Nurse said
32:10it's like top of the list,
32:11and he thought it wasn't
32:12just Paul George on Sunday.
32:14He felt like the number
32:16of guys were turning down
32:17decent looks,
32:18and against the Boston Celtics,
32:20you know you're going to have
32:22to match them
32:22to a certain extent
32:23with their firepower
32:25from the three.
32:26He thought his guys
32:27were hesitant.
32:29Tatum hits a pair
32:30of free throws,
32:318.6 boards,
32:32three assists for Tatum,
32:3310-point lead for Boston.
32:37Fix defense.
32:39They're hearing the chants.
32:39One of the best defensive teams
32:41in the league
32:41all season long.
32:43George to Embiid.
32:48Brown looking to help out.
32:49Embiid,
32:50and a foul
32:51on Jalen Brown.
32:54He thinks it was all ball,
32:56talking to Kevin Scott.
32:57Now looking over,
32:58he wants to twirl
33:00that index finger so badly.
33:01He didn't quite twirl it yet.
33:03He's just kind of indicating
33:05that this is all ball.
33:06I think he tipped the ball
33:08and then followed through
33:08into his hand.
33:09Looks like to me
33:10his fingertips
33:11I think got a piece
33:12of that basketball
33:13and then hit Embiid
33:14on the follow-through.
33:15Joe Mazzou will not challenge.
33:17Crowd, you saw the replay
33:18up on the big screen.
33:19Embiid back to the free throw line.
33:22And as we go to Lisa.
33:24Hey, Mike.
33:24Well, as you said,
33:25Joe Alambe got sick
33:26when the Sixers were on the road.
33:27He wasn't feeling well
33:28during the game
33:29against the Spurs,
33:29but thought it was just
33:30something he ate in Texas.
33:32And then they went to Houston
33:33and he started to feel even worse.
33:34He said he didn't want
33:35to wake anyone up,
33:36but it was the middle of the night
33:37and he just couldn't sleep,
33:38couldn't walk on his own.
33:39That's when he told the team
33:40and was taken to the hospital.
33:42Like you said,
33:42the appendectomy
33:43was less than three weeks ago
33:45and apparently
33:45he hasn't had any issues
33:47since playing on Sunday.
33:48But Embiid did say
33:49postgame on Sunday
33:50that he did have complications
33:53from that surgery.
33:54Some things he said
33:55he didn't want to go
33:56into detail about,
33:57but he said things
33:58that he's still dealing with.
34:00You know, at least he's still,
34:02he's 32 years old,
34:03a generational talent.
34:05Could have been one of the most
34:06spectacular players ever.
34:08As Tatum,
34:09speaking of spectacular,
34:11knocks down that three,
34:12lead up to 11.
34:13But it's just,
34:14it's been hard to see Embiid
34:16with all the injuries
34:16because he's got
34:17just incredible talent.
34:23Edgecombe gets the errant pass.
34:24Grimes, no hesitation.
34:26Count it,
34:26and a foul.
34:28Derek White's gonna pick up
34:29his second.
34:29Grimes with a chance
34:30for a four-point play
34:31and the Sixers needed that.
34:35And we'll take a timeout.
34:41Philadelphia catches a break
34:42right here.
34:43Looks like it's gonna be
34:44a turnover instead.
34:46Turns into potentially four.
35:01It's brought to you by
35:02homes.com, legs.
35:03Yeah, Celtics bench
35:04has been great all year.
35:06Doing it again here.
35:0717 points to this point
35:09in the first half.
35:10And Peyton Pritchard,
35:10what a rhythm he is in.
35:12Making every right read.
35:14Getting downhill.
35:15Putting pressure on the defense.
35:16Luka Garza getting
35:17into the act as well.
35:19But again,
35:19that ball containment
35:20just not there.
35:22Sets up a three
35:22for Shireman in the corner.
35:24And one more time.
35:27Vujovic caps it off.
35:30A terrific bench
35:31in what has been
35:32a magical season
35:33for the Celtics
35:34and Brad Stephens today.
35:35Rewarded for that.
35:36Got NBA Executive of the Year.
35:39I feel like he could get that
35:41almost every other year
35:42at this point in time.
35:43Well, this was the year
35:44that was supposed to be
35:44that gap year
35:45that was the term
35:47everybody used
35:48with the Tatum injury
35:49and has turned
35:50into anything but
35:51it could be
35:52a championship year.
35:53Hauser fires away.
35:54Can't get it.
35:55George the rebound.
35:56Still obviously
35:56a lot of work to go
35:57but it has really been
35:59one of the special seasons
36:00in Celtic history.
36:04Embiid trying to draw a foul.
36:06Didn't get it.
36:07Vujovic played him well.
36:09A little more patient
36:10down there if you're Embiid.
36:11He has time.
36:12They're not coming
36:12on the double team
36:13right away.
36:14Bad pass from Tatum.
36:16Grimes gets inside.
36:17Goes reverse
36:17and backs it home.
36:19And then Philly back
36:20within five.
36:22Hauser fakes.
36:23Shot blocked by Embiid.
36:25Hauser gets it back.
36:26Surrounded by Edgecombe
36:27trying to wrestle it away
36:28while still loose
36:30and Embiid comes up with it.
36:32That was a rare sighting.
36:33A two-point field goal
36:35attempt for Sam Hauser.
36:38Grimes way off the mark
36:40that time.
36:41Grimes six points
36:42off the bench.
36:44Largest lead 11
36:45for the Celtics
36:46here in this first half.
36:49Jalen Brown.
36:51Vujovic tries again.
36:52Knocks it down.
36:53Vujovic eight points
36:54in six minutes
36:55off the bench.
36:56You just can't be
36:57that deep if you're
36:58two out Embiid.
36:59That's twice now.
37:00There's no way
37:00he's going to be
37:01able to recover.
37:02At least that time
37:03Grimes tried to get
37:04over there
37:05but that's a practice shot.
37:09George to Embiid.
37:10Embiid gets inside.
37:11Gets knocked down.
37:12Banks it home.
37:14And if they don't
37:15figure out that drop
37:16we've already seen
37:17Jason Tatum
37:17hit a shot.
37:18Vujovic hit a couple.
37:20They've got to figure out
37:21that drop in pick and roll.
37:23And Embiid has stopped
37:24taking the threes
37:25and he's become
37:25more effective.
37:27He was up on that one
37:28and did a nice job
37:29closing off Jason Tatum
37:31forcing him back
37:32out to the line.
37:34And a moving screen
37:35on Vujovic.
37:36That's his first.
37:41But that was
37:42the play.
37:43We were literally
37:44talking about it.
37:45They don't figure that out.
37:46And what does he do?
37:47He gets up to the level.
37:48Now Jason Tatum
37:49can't go downhill.
37:50He can't throw back
37:51to the big.
37:52The big doesn't have
37:53enough timing
37:53and space to get that shot.
37:55That is so key
37:56when you're guarding
37:57the Boston Celtics.
37:58If you are in drop
37:59it is going to be
38:01a long night.
38:02Andre Drummond returns
38:04and Embiid
38:05goes to the bench.
38:08And he is
38:08Kata back in
38:09for the Celtics.
38:13Starting five
38:14right now
38:14for Boston.
38:19Drummond
38:20trying to set a screen.
38:21Maxey gets away
38:21now drives on Kata
38:22and draws the foul.
38:24Well he's so smart.
38:25He came off that screen
38:26and he saw that
38:27Kata
38:27was advancing
38:28up the lane
38:29and he was very upright.
38:31He was not
38:31in a position
38:32to stay low.
38:33So once Maxey
38:34hit that screen
38:36he put it on
38:37to another gear
38:38and able to turn
38:39the corner
38:39and draw contact.
38:40Well the Sixers
38:41didn't have a free throw
38:42in the first quarter.
38:43This will be their
38:44eighth and ninth
38:45foul on Kata.
38:46By the way Kata
38:47in that first quarter
38:48had eight rebounds
38:50in the first quarter.
38:51You know what the NBA
38:52playoff record is
38:52for most rebounds
38:54in a quarter?
38:54Why are you hiding
38:55your note over there Mike?
38:56Something tells me
38:56you should have guessed.
38:58This sounds like
38:58a Bill Russell stat.
39:00Bingo.
39:00Oh.
39:01Oh he's looking
39:02at your car.
39:03I'm looking at the car
39:04so you're cheating.
39:05Don't you accuse me.
39:05I'm not accusing
39:06I saw you.
39:07Listen you're the guy
39:08that was used to
39:08looking at classmates
39:09papers in school
39:10okay.
39:10I wasn't.
39:11Alright.
39:1319 rebounds
39:14in one quarter
39:15for Bill Russell.
39:17Well.
39:18Also a part of
39:19many of the
39:20Sixers
39:21and the Celtics
39:22playoff battles.
39:24No teams have met
39:25in the playoffs
39:25more than these two.
39:26Oubre trying to poke
39:27it away.
39:27Brown got it back.
39:29Holding on
39:30and it's going to be
39:31a held ball.
39:32Good effort
39:33from both teams
39:34both players
39:35and they'll jump it up.
39:37You know it's amazing
39:37what you can do
39:38defensively
39:39when you don't just
39:39concede
39:40ball Oubre up.
39:42Like not taking
39:42that for granted
39:43and now there's
39:44pressure there
39:45but that pass
39:45has to be delivered
39:46to the right angle
39:47the right hand
39:48and instead Oubre
39:49forces this opportunity
39:51here to see if they
39:52can come up
39:52with a turnover.
39:53Now Philly
39:53never got possession
39:54on their almost
39:55turnover.
39:56If the Celtics
39:57win the tip
39:58they only have
39:58nine to shoot.
40:04Shot clock winding down.
40:06Brown in the front court.
40:07Four on the 24.
40:08Brown finds some room.
40:09Fires away.
40:10Can't hit the three.
40:11Howser tips it
40:11right to Derek White.
40:13Back out Tatum.
40:14Tatum the fake.
40:18Brown bumped by Drummond
40:21gets inside
40:22stops layup
40:23it's good
40:24oh it pulls out
40:25that one was
40:25halfway down
40:26and Drummond
40:27got hit in the head.
40:31Oh another foul
40:32on the Celtics
40:33and the penalty
40:34and great job
40:35by Drummond
40:36moving his feet
40:38contesting
40:39without fouling
40:39and then just
40:41an unlucky roll
40:42there for Jalen Brown
40:43that leads to
40:44two free throws
40:44for Drummond.
40:46So Drummond
40:47will go to
40:48the free throw line
40:49the veteran Andre Drummond
40:50in a backup center
40:52recently
40:53one of the great
40:53rebounders of his era
40:55now in his 14th year
40:56and has never been
40:58a good free throw
40:58shooter 49%
40:59but that was perfect.
41:02We have the second
41:03game of our doubleheader
41:04Spurs trying to close out
41:06the Trailblazers
41:07Portland's put up
41:08a real fight
41:10Wimby's put up
41:11some incredible numbers
41:12in his first
41:13playoff series
41:15and Bede's been
41:16knocking down
41:17some threes
41:17by the way
41:19excuse me
41:19Drummond
41:20and Drummond
41:21two perfect
41:22free throws there
41:23and I'll tell you
41:24what
41:24they were down
41:24ten four minutes
41:25ago
41:26they've now got
41:26this to two points
41:28very important
41:29four minutes
41:30when you're playing
41:31the Celtics
41:31they can hit you
41:32with a flurry
41:32of three-point shooting
41:34in a short burst
41:35Philly has to be ready
41:36both teams
41:36are four of 17
41:37from three
41:38Pritchard
41:39can't hit
41:40we'll break
41:41couldn't grab it
41:43keep watching
41:44Derek White
41:44every time a shot
41:45goes up
41:46he goes in
41:47for an offensive
41:47rebound from that
41:48corner
41:48nice feed from
41:49Brown
41:50Kata throws it
41:51down
41:51and a foul
41:52Mcmurray's upset
41:53he thought that
41:54there should have been
41:54an offensive foul
42:01this was pretty close
42:08there certainly was
42:09contact
42:09I wonder if there's
42:11any extension
42:12with the arm
42:13I think the left arm
42:14does extend a little
42:15bit right here
42:15and Kelly Oubre's
42:16backing up
42:17he wasn't really
42:17on balance
42:18but that left arm
42:19definitely went
42:20into his chest
42:21and did not allow him
42:23to stay on his feet
42:24and that created
42:24the two-on-one
42:25under the rim
42:26and so many things
42:27are given to the
42:29offensive player
42:30for the advantage
42:31so if you're a
42:32defensive guy
42:33those things are
42:34extra frustrating
42:35you've given the
42:36offensive player
42:37so much latitude
42:38that now even
42:39the shoulder
42:40forearm push off
42:41as long as it's
42:42not a hand push off
42:43is allowed
42:44you know what
42:44RJ in that case
42:45especially because
42:46you've done your job
42:47jumping on the right
42:47hand of Jalen Brown
42:48Oubre anticipated
42:49where he was going
42:51and B
42:52sat for about
42:5390 seconds
42:54comes back in
42:55misses that shot
42:56Jalen Brown
42:57looking
42:59tried to spin
42:59move
43:00Edgham almost
43:00came up with
43:01Pritchard did
43:02alley-oop to Kata
43:03Kata kicks it out
43:04Tatum
43:05corner three
43:06it's good
43:1014 first half
43:11points for Tatum
43:12Nick Nurse upset
43:14calls timeout
43:15but he's not upset
43:17with his team
43:17he's upset with
43:19non call
43:22this ball movement
43:25getting in the pain
43:26watch this ball pop
43:28moving over
43:29ends up in
43:30Jason Tatum's hands
43:31Celtics have a
43:32seven point lead
43:33with three minutes
43:34to go in this half
43:35NBA first round
43:37presented by Popeyes
43:38is brought to you
43:39by Google
43:42and McDonald's
43:52do you like drop
43:54and on the level
43:55let me explain to you
43:56a drop
43:57a drop means that
43:58the big is back
43:59and when the big is back
44:01that's to prevent
44:02the drive
44:03but there is no one
44:04to contest a three
44:05point shot
44:06no one to come help
44:07that's a drop
44:08coverage
44:09it's useful at times
44:10but against the Celtics
44:11you have to be
44:12on the level
44:13that means on the level
44:14with the screener
44:15so you can guard
44:16the guy
44:17give your teammate
44:18an opportunity
44:19to get back
44:20being on the level
44:21is the most important
44:22thing that you could
44:24do for the Celtics
44:25against the Celtics
44:29Hescombe
44:30George
44:30Embi
44:31Maxey
44:32Embi
44:32gets it down low
44:33against Kata
44:34falling away
44:35shot is up
44:36and good
44:36once again
44:37around the rim
44:37he's very effective
44:38and more patient
44:40than he was
44:40on that last post up
44:41when he tried
44:42to draw the foul
44:43that time
44:43he understood
44:44just use your footwork
44:45and your size
44:46and that shooting touch
44:47will finish off plays
44:50Tatum
44:51finds some space
44:52gets inside
44:53floats it out
44:53to White
44:54seven on the 24
44:55spin strip
44:56quick hands
44:58from Maxey
44:58Maxey amongst
44:59the NBA steals leaders
45:00during the regular season
45:04coming up on
45:05two minutes to go
45:06here in the first half
45:07Maxey three-pointer
45:09got it
45:10and once again
45:11a two-point game
45:12for the Celtics
45:13as Maxey now
45:15with 13 points
45:16that surprised me
45:17that's on Tatum
45:17just really drifted
45:18too far
45:19from a lethal
45:20catch-and-shoot player
45:22Brown falling away
45:23that's good
45:26eight points
45:27in the first half
45:28for Brown
45:34Sixers fell behind
45:35by double figures
45:36but a nice bounce back
45:37Maxey
45:38can't get back to fall
45:40Tatum
45:40Tatum grabs his
45:41seventh rebound already
45:42Pritchard running
45:43to the floor
45:43fake the pass
45:44and beat almost
45:45backed off
45:46and he laid it up
45:46and in
45:50nine points off
45:51the bench
45:52for Pritchard
45:5322 bench points
45:54for Boston
45:59Oubre
46:00gets inside
46:08Jalen Brown
46:10against Edgecombe
46:11Tatum
46:12fires away
46:13can't hit the three
46:17rebounding numbers
46:18plus six
46:19for Boston
46:21Celtics dominated
46:22in game four
46:24especially on the
46:25offensive
46:26those
46:26deflating offensive
46:27rebounds
46:28for the opponent
46:31Aids a lot stronger
46:32than I think
46:33people think
46:33so
46:34Paul George
46:35having a little
46:35trouble getting to
46:36his spot
46:36and B
46:37tries again
46:38and his three-point
46:39out
46:39way off
46:40he's 0 for 5
46:42from 3
46:435 from 8
46:44inside the arc
46:44Brown
46:45comes back
46:46and hits a 3
46:49shot quickly
46:50to get a 2 for 1
46:51Brown now
46:51with 11 points
46:52what a killer
46:53right there
46:54you had an opportunity
46:55with an advantage
46:56in a post-off
46:56you don't take that
46:58you don't hit a 3
46:58and now
46:59Boston hits one
47:00in transition
47:01the other way
47:02six-point swing
47:04deflected out
47:04as the crowd
47:05fired up a little bit
47:06a little bit
47:07of a slow start
47:08energy-wise
47:09for the Celtics
47:17this is going to let
47:18somebody come in
47:19substitute
47:19but Joe Mozilla
47:20says play on
47:24Embiid and Kata
47:26one-on-one
47:27old Brown lurking
47:28and B
47:28backs in
47:29lost a handle
47:30and a foul
47:31on Kata
47:31he's very upset
47:32as he picks up
47:33his third
47:39and they've been
47:40in the penalty
47:41so free throws
47:42for Embiid
47:42and you might
47:43understand why
47:43Kata's a little
47:44frustrated here
47:46he was pulling
47:48him
47:49but I don't know
47:50I feel like
47:51that's
47:51those are things
47:52that ball bounces
47:53off your foot
47:54I don't know
47:54it's because of
47:55the contact
47:56and the force
47:57when you're grabbing
47:57the jersey
47:58although
47:58you've seen
47:59a bunch of
48:00plays where
48:01the jerseys grabbed
48:02and a foul's not called
48:03but he clearly
48:03grabbed the jersey
48:05but if that's
48:06what we're calling
48:06a foul Mike
48:09so when you talk
48:11to the officials
48:11and the players
48:12and everybody
48:13and the fans
48:13all talk about
48:14oh in the playoffs
48:15they let a lot
48:15more go
48:16the officials
48:17there's no procedure
48:18where they tell them
48:19let it become
48:20more physical
48:21but what happens
48:22is everybody's
48:23playing so much
48:24harder
48:24the game
48:25becomes more
48:26physical
48:26and they want
48:27the players
48:27to be able
48:28to decide it
48:29more because
48:29of what's at stake
48:30so they're going
48:31to allow a little
48:32bit more contact
48:32in the post
48:33a little bit more
48:34out on the perimeter
48:35with hand checks
48:36and forearms
48:38and B hits a pair
48:40seven point game
48:41Sixers do have a foul
48:42to give
48:43shot clock
48:43is turned off
48:47Maxie putting pressure
48:48on Pritchard
48:50and there's the foul
48:51to give
48:51so they'll now
48:52inbound
48:52with eight seconds
48:53remaining
48:56first foul
48:56on Maxie
49:18into the hands of
49:19Derek White
49:21four seconds to go
49:23Pritchard
49:24Pritchard
49:24end of quarter
49:24here he goes
49:25fires away
49:28you almost expect
49:29those to go in
49:30not that time
49:32nobody does that
49:34better in the NBA
49:35than Pritchard
49:36and a seven point
49:37lead for Boston
49:38coming up
49:39we'll have the
49:39halftime report
49:40presented by Hyundai
49:43game five
49:44from Boston
49:45Jack Ernie
49:46Kenny and Charles
49:47will talk about
49:48the first half
49:48Celtics trying to
49:49clinch and move on
49:50Sixers trying to
49:52send it back to
49:52Philly
49:5357-50
49:54Boston in front
50:10four minutes
50:11at TD Garden
50:12in Boston
50:13and it's the Celtics
50:14who have a chance
50:15to advance
50:16to the Eastern Conference
50:17semifinals
50:18with a win
50:19leading at 57
50:20to 50
50:23NBA halftime
50:24is presented
50:25by Hyundai
50:26coming to you
50:26live from Studio
50:27J here in Atlanta
50:28Ernie Johnson
50:29with Charles Barkley
50:30Kenny the Jet
50:31Smith
50:31and Shaquille O'Neal
50:34how would you
50:34describe what you
50:35saw in the first
50:3624 minutes
50:37Chuckster
50:37a scrimmage
50:38no intensity
50:40from the Sixers
50:41like it's a life
50:42or death situation
50:43and the Celtics
50:44are just like
50:44going through the
50:45motions
50:45they're not
50:46making any shots
50:47and they still
50:48got the lead
50:50but it looked
50:51just like a scrimmage
50:52you don't see
50:53any desperation
50:54you know
50:54your season
50:55can end
50:55Philadelphia's hung
50:56with them
50:56the entire first time
50:57yeah but they're not
50:58playing with intensity
50:59they're down
51:00seven
51:01well they were down
51:02two late and a half
51:03yeah but
51:03well they're down
51:04seven and a half
51:04when you're in a
51:05desperation
51:06when you're gonna lose
51:07your season's gonna be over
51:08you can't play from behind
51:10especially when the Celtics
51:11are shooting as bad
51:12as they're shooting
51:13and that's the thing
51:14I know
51:14this was just like
51:15a scrimmage to me
51:16big difference
51:17between the first
51:18and second quarters
51:19as we look at the
51:20epic moment
51:20brought to you by
51:21Hyundai
51:22Celtics led by two
51:25after one
51:26then came up
51:27with a 34 point
51:28second quarter
51:29went five out of
51:30twelve from deep
51:31after one out of
51:32ten in the first
51:34quarter
51:36Ken Jett Smith
51:38observations
51:39from half one
51:42well if
51:44Brad Stevens
51:45won executive
51:46a year
51:46and he did
51:47well
51:48Jalen Brown
51:50is a big reason
51:51that he won executive
51:51a year
51:52because this was the
51:52year they were gonna
51:53be tanking
51:54supposedly
51:54or taking a step
51:55back
51:56or a pause
51:56yes
51:57I need you to do
51:58something for me
51:58what's that
51:59you haven't
51:59you haven't
52:00won the side
52:00of the game
52:01for about two
52:01years
52:01no I'm not
52:02I don't know
52:02if I'm going in
52:03I don't know
52:04Shaq
52:04I don't know
52:04I don't know
52:05if they're ready
52:05for that
52:05they're not ready
52:06for that
52:07on ESPN
52:08so but anyway
52:09so we're talking
52:10about a three
52:10level scorer
52:11here's a guy
52:12who can do
52:13two different ways
52:14to score
52:15because when he's
52:16in that deep corner
52:17you have to run
52:18at him for the three
52:18when you run at him
52:19oh no I'm a driver
52:20three level scorer
52:22I get in
52:22punch
52:23and then
52:23when I'm in that
52:24deep corner again
52:25he's playing out of it
52:27playing off the
52:27three point line
52:28Oubre loses him
52:29now I'm gonna get
52:30into my mid range game
52:31knock down shot here
52:32boom
52:33and then his last thing
52:35Shaq
52:35is he goes into the post
52:37and he goes into the post
52:38and you know what Shaq
52:40I'm going in the game
52:41I'm going in the game
52:43thank you brother
52:44I'm going in the game
52:45thank you
52:46so exciting
52:50I got my Boston green on
52:52I had to come to the garden
52:54but when Jalen Brown
52:55has the ball in here
52:56he's looking
52:57he's watching him beat here
52:58and he says
52:59you know what
52:59when I take my dribble inside
53:00I'm gonna see if he comes
53:02if he doesn't come
53:03I'm gonna just play
53:04one on one
53:04and I'm a three level scorer
53:06threes
53:07mid range
53:07and now post
53:08get me out of here
53:09get me back to Atlanta
53:10go to work
53:11get in there
53:16we score
53:17I'm coming back
53:18Zach
53:18I'm coming back
53:19thank you
53:20I'm coming back from Boston
53:21I'm coming back from Boston
53:23I'm coming back
53:25well get back here
53:27I had to get gifts
53:29I had to get gifts
53:30I had to get gifts
53:31what did you find
53:32inside the game
53:33well inside the game
53:34I saw this is for you Shaq
53:36right here brother
53:37that was inside the game
53:39a slinky
53:40a slinky
53:41they told me
53:41they told me
53:41what does it say on the label
53:42they said you left that on the
53:43rigid flex
53:45they said you left that in your locker
53:47last time
53:47basically anything that's
53:49behind the big screen
53:52I think that's a little too big
53:53to be a slinky
53:54a slinky
53:55it's just a wonderful toy
53:57fun for a girl and a boy
53:59yeah see he left that there
54:00last time
54:01they said
54:02that's a great toy
54:03you know what I was most impressed with
54:05is like you're just off the cuff
54:07asking him
54:08he hadn't been in the game
54:09for a while
54:09that was really excellent acting
54:11by both of you
54:12what have you got
54:13on the filling side
54:14I've had the ability
54:16my whole career
54:17to you know
54:18play with dynamic guards
54:19and every now and then
54:20I tell them
54:20hey man don't look for me
54:21go get yours
54:22they've had a lot of sex
54:23because Nadeem has been out
54:24Tyrese Maxey and Vijay Edcombe
54:27playing well
54:28Tyrese Maxey 13 points
54:30Edcombe needs to pick it up
54:31with 4 points
54:31but you know Chuck made the point
54:33that you know
54:33they need to get themselves involved
54:35and they're doing a good job
54:36of that
54:36being aggressive
54:37right here
54:38big fella not doing nothing
54:39when you get your opportunity
54:40go get yours
54:41I'm going to get mine
54:43you need to go get yours
54:44Joel Embiid
54:45I hate watching them play
54:46and that's the reason why
54:474 out of 5 in the paint
54:491 from 8 for everywhere else
54:50so what does that tell you
54:51dummy
54:51in the paint
54:52did you ever have to tell
54:53the late great Kobe Bryant
54:55go get his
54:55never
54:56no
54:56never
54:57I didn't think so
54:58by the way Embiid with 15
55:00leads everybody
55:01should have 30
55:02but Philadelphia
55:03trailing by 7
55:04and again they got a half
55:05go ahead it's in the paint
55:06I'm going to get it
55:07I'm going to get it
55:07I'm going to get it
55:09I'm going to get it
