Keine Klassen, viele Rollen

00:25Ultimately, we're putting high-stakes tactical teamplay back into All-Out Warfare.
00:37There are three pillars to our tactical depth and teamplay.
00:40Believable foundations, depth and decision-making, and player-driven All-Out Warfare.
00:47From day one, we deliberately used real-world references as a foundation for everything we added to the game.
00:54From weaponry, to vehicles and equipment, so that everything you see and hear in the game feels grounded and believable.
01:02Early on in the development of our game, our animation and audio teams travelled to shooting ranges
01:06to get a better feel for how the weapons that we have in the game feel in real life.
01:16To achieve what we want with War Dogs, just using Unreal Engine isn't enough,
01:19which is why we've built our own framework, on top of Unreal, that we call War Dynamics.
01:27The War Dynamics framework enables us to accurately simulate weapon ballistics and flight models from real-world data.
01:34We added bullet drop based on real-world ballistic coefficients,
01:38including true-to-life velocity and air resistance,
01:41calculated based on each bullet's mass, diameter and drag model.
01:45Bullets react to different surface types of their own penetration values and ricochet potential,
01:50based on ammo type, calibre, impact angle and velocity at the point of impact.
01:56For our helicopters, we hired and flew in an aerospace engineer
02:00to make sure our flight mechanics were grounded in realism
02:03and have the depth that we want to provide for skilled pilots,
02:06before making tweaks to make general flying more approachable to more people.
02:10And that's important to understand.
02:12We're in no way using realism in the pursuit of becoming the world's most realistic shooter.
02:16Instead, we're using it as the foundation to lay a believable depth to the game
02:20and make every loadout decision have a lasting consequence for your account balance.
02:25In terms of audio, our priority is that the mix makes you feel grounded
02:29in the ambience and believability of the world
02:33whilst balancing that with subtly dialed-up gameplay cues
02:36for key information when you're going to need it most.
02:41From hearing a volume distinction between the friendly and enemy footsteps
02:46to subtle confirmation audio of each successful shot on the target
02:51without the need for the UI clutter.
02:53These gameplay-driven audio cues allow you to react and adapt to threats in the heat of the moment.
03:00Another example is whiz-biz.
03:03From hearing a single whiz-biz shot, you can understand the grouping of the calibre,
03:07whether it's small, medium or large,
03:09and if the weapon was suppressed, and the direction of the shooter.
03:14So for 9mm rounds, they will sound and feel less threatening
03:17as they deal lower damage and have a different sonic signature
03:19compared to a sniper cracking a 50 cal round right past your head
03:24or an artillery shell about to impact right next to you.
03:31And you won't need a PhD in ballistics or an ammo chart on your second monitor either.
03:35The in-game vendor will only show you the ammo types
03:37that can be packed into magazines that are compatible with your weapon.
03:42However, every loadout choice comes with trade-offs
03:45that will affect your playstyle,
03:46which you need to consider when building your loadout.
03:49When you spawn in, the first thing you'll see in your team spawn
03:52is the equipment vendor.
03:54War Dogs doesn't force you into playing set roles.
03:57Instead, you make choices and unlock items based on how you like to play.
04:02With loads of weapons, equipment, and items available to choose from,
04:06you have to carefully consider your inventory size,
04:09balancing how much you want to carry,
04:11which affects your weight and movement speed,
04:14and most importantly, balancing the cost of your overall loadout.
04:18And that's why when we say depth, we don't just mean gunplay.
04:22The depth in War Dogs is in your personalized strategy
04:24of how you want to play and to try and make a profit.
04:28Knowing that an RPG with rockets could cost you about $3,000,
04:33but could earn you $10,000
04:35if you destroy a packed enemy little bird,
04:38forces you to make split-second decisions
04:40between high-cost, high-reward shots
04:42and throwing your cash away if you miss.
04:45Remember, team play items and actions that help your team win,
04:48such as purchasing bandages to help teammates
04:51or transporting players back to the control zone,
04:53are key for making cash and leveling up your account.
04:57However, no one strategy is king.
05:00With 100-player warfare and every player playing in their own way
05:03across three teams,
05:04War Dogs becomes this unpredictable sandbox you have to adapt to.
05:10Ultimately, War Dogs is a game about choices,
05:12never locking people into set ways to play each match,
05:15instead allowing 100 players to decide how they want to play
05:19on an ever-evolving battlefield.
05:21So, how do you play War Dogs?
05:23How would you describe your play style?
05:26At the minute I'm playing recon,
05:28playing a sniper, I want to pop heads.
05:31I'm so good at listening to the game and thinking,
05:33enemy out there, enemy out there,
05:34and knowing roughly if I can take a shot safely.
05:37I'm typically a team's pilot,
05:39dropping people off, bringing supplies to the front lines,
05:42I get a load of money for people surviving the landings,
05:44and then every kill and assist that they do in the zone
05:47gives money back to me.
05:48So, if they kill a person, I get some of the money for that.
05:52Builder is probably my top one.
05:53Early game, your base isn't going to be doing much,
05:55but later in the game,
05:57you can really drastically swing the course of the whole match.
06:00I play mostly assault.
06:02I play quite aggressive at pushing people, killing people.
06:05Obviously, you count as more people in the hot zone.
06:08You get more cash as well,
06:09so it's like you are benefiting the team,
06:10but you're also benefiting yourself in a way,
06:12because you're earning more money by being in the hot zone
06:14and doing actions in the hot zone.
06:16I like to think my play style is quite unique.
06:19Drop down at the top of a tower,
06:20try and sweep the tower,
06:22get in and out, get the code,
06:23and then move on to the next one.
06:25Get that tower code,
06:26and then they can call the hot zone to that tower.
06:29I may not be playing a massive role,
06:32but it'll be the smaller roles like that
06:34which kind of help determine
06:36when the waves and beats and paces of the game
06:39can change over the course of the match.
06:43When all of the roles coalesce over a single thing,
06:47that's when it is like peak war dogs.
06:49When you get a hot zone being called to a base,
06:53you've got people breaching,
06:55you've got tanks rolling up,
06:57you've got infantry fighting inside and around the base.
07:01I can be a bastard to people.
07:04People building bases on the enemy teams
07:05or build like the anti-aircraft missile launcher.
07:12I will just swap over to the attack helicopter, the Havoc.
07:17It's a game changer.
07:20Everything's happening.
07:20Artillery are raining down.
07:22People are scrambling to fire the moors in defense.
07:24There's people parachuting in.
07:25You're desperate for more ammo in the base,
07:27and suddenly a logistics driver will smash it through the gate.
07:30And I don't think it's down to one role.
07:33It's down to what happens when they all come together.
07:38This blend of real risk and sandbox freedom,
07:41when combined with our tactical depth
07:43and mix of realism and approachability,
07:45means war dogs is bringing high stakes team play
07:48and depth back into all-out warfare.
07:56I was flying with this guy.
07:58I kind of didn't recognize his name.
08:00I was like,
08:01I haven't seen you around.
08:02Who are you?
08:03It's like, oh, I'm from the community.
08:04It was like,
08:04it was like the first community player
08:06that I got to speak with.
08:09And then I was like,
08:09what do you think about games?
08:10Like, yeah, mate, it's banging.
08:12Yeah, no, it's really good.
08:13Performance is good as well.
08:14I was like,
08:14I've got the little goose gooseies,
08:16you know, the tingles.
08:17It was the moment for me when I was like,
08:19you know, maybe we're doing something with you.
08:21Maybe it's something that people will like.
08:25As of last week,
08:26we've begun running extremely limited closed alpha tests
08:29with specific players.
08:31We know there's a huge demand for wider access.
08:33But to be clear,
08:34these tests are not a AAA marketing stunt to build hype.
08:38Instead, we're running specific hardware configurations,
08:41server regions,
08:42and stress testing specific mechanics
08:44to ensure stability for everyone.
08:46If you want the best chance

08:52and make sure you wishlist War Dogs on Steam.
