Raquel Laguna/ SUCOPRESS. O Agente Secreto (Brazil) and El Eternauta (Argentina) emerged as the most awarded productions on the biggest night of Ibero-American audiovisual content. With four PLATINO Awards, the Brazilian film O Agente Secreto, written and directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho, took home the prize for Best Ibero-American Fiction Film, in addition to Best Director and Best Screenplay. The PLATINO for Best Actor was awarded to Wagner Moura for his leading role in the same film. The Argentine series El Eternauta, created by Bruno Stagnaro, was the winner in the Best Miniseries or Cinematic TV Series category, also earning awards for Best Creator in a Miniseries or TV Series and Best Actor in a Miniseries or TV Series. Both productions became the most awarded titles of the 13th PLATINO XCARET Awards ceremony, held at the Gran Tlachco Theater in Xcaret Park, in Riviera Maya (Mexico). In the Best Actress category, Blanca Soroa won the PLATINO for her role in the film Los Domingos (Spain), in which she plays a teenager torn between pursuing her desire to become a cloistered nun or continuing her life as a student—a dilemma that becomes the center of complex family conflicts. Visibly moved, the young actress recalled: “Throughout these past months at festivals and awards ceremonies, they always ask me what Los Domingos has given me,” a production that promises to mark the beginning of a brilliant on-screen career. She thanked the film for this “wonderful journey, an incredible experience that would not have been possible without the people who have accompanied me,” making special mention of director Alauda Ruiz de Azúa and her co-stars Juan Minujín and Patricia López Arnaiz. The PLATINO for Best Actress in a Miniseries or TV Series went to Paulina Gaitán for her role in the series Las muertas (Mexico). The ceremony, hosted by Carlos Torres and Cayetana Guillén-Cuervo, also featured the presentation of the PLATINO Honorary Award to Argentine actor Guillermo Francella. In addition to his nomination this year for Best Actor for Homo Argentum, Francella has already received two PLATINO Awards: one for Best Actor for his role as Arquímedes Puccio in El Clan in 2016, and another for Best Actor in a Miniseries or TV Series for El Encargado in 2023. The 13th edition of the PLATINO XCARET Awards was made possible thanks to the support of Quintana Roo, Riviera Maya, and Grupo XCARET, as well as the Community of Madrid and Madrid City Council. The PLATINO XCARET Awards are promoted by EGEDA (Audiovisual Producers’ Rights Management Entity) and FIPCA (Ibero-American Federation of Film and Audiovisual Production), in collaboration with FIACINE (Ibero-American Federation of Academies of Cinematic Arts and Sciences). All events were attended by Enrique Cerezo, president of EGEDA and executive president of the PLATINO Awards; Miguel Ángel Benzal, CEO of EGEDA and the PLATINO Awards; Ignacio Rey, president of FIPCA, co-organizer of the awards alongside EGEDA;
