00:11Democratic National Committee's autopsy of Donald Trump's crushing victory.
00:16The draft, obtained Thursday by CNN, also faulted Team Biden for not conducting advance
00:21polling on the former vice president prior to Biden abandoning his re-election bid that
00:26July.
00:27The national campaign did not effectively drive Trump's negatives and the White House
00:31did not effectively support Vice President Harris over three and a half years to improve
00:36her standing before the candidates switch, the report read.
00:40It also argued that the administration failed to push back effectively on the narrative that
00:44she was an ineffective border czar.
00:47It was not the official title, but it was the one the media propagated and the White House
00:51failed to contradict or correct, the report added.
00:54In another striking section, the autopsy concluded, the GOP's victory in 2024 largely came down
01:01to its ability to learn more from President Barack Obama's victory in 2008 than Democrats
01:06did.
01:07The GOP's campaign was powered by data, amplified by social media, and enabled by ardent
01:12supporters at every level.
01:14The DNC and chairman Ken Martin had come under intense pressure to publicly release the report,
01:20with even Harris urging its disclosure.
01:23In a statement Thursday, Martin said the party opted to release the autopsy for the sake of
01:28transparency after learning that CNN planned to run an in-depth piece on it.
