Trump also spent time attacking Vice President Kamala Harris, who is now the Democratic nominee after Biden withdrew. He called Harris "a radical left lunatic" and criticized her record on border security. The Harris campaign criticized Trump as a "bitter, unhinged, 78-year-old convicted felon" and said he wants to "drag us backward" and "undermine our democracy." Polls show the 2024 race between Trump and Harris is very close, with both candidates receiving around 48% support from likely voters.
