Saturday has brought a desperate attempt to stabilize the global economy. In a coordinated move, the United States, Japan, and the European Union have authorized the largest single release of strategic petroleum reserves in history. The goal is to flood the market with enough crude to offset the ‘Insurance Blockade’ currently paralyzing the Strait of Hormuz. However, energy analysts warn that this is a high-stakes gamble. At current consumption rates, these reserves will only last ninety days. Without a permanent military solution to clear the thousands of Iranian ‘Ghost Mines,’ the world is simply delaying an inevitable economic collapse. As gas prices at the pump hit record highs in every major city, the pressure on the three-carrier strike force to ‘Open the Gate’ by force is becoming politically unavoidable.
