00:00Selangor Sultan Sharfuddin Idris Shah has called on Malays and Muslims in the country
00:05to remain united while stressing that such unity should not be interpreted as hostility towards
00:11non-Malays. In his Hari Raya Aidil Adha message, the ruler urged Malays and Muslims, from political
00:19leaders to ordinary citizens, to close ranks and avoid internal divisions. The ruler also
00:26expressed concern over the growing number of disputes and disagreements among politicians,
00:31warning that such developments could create unease among the people. He said history had shown that
00:38divisions among the Malays created opportunities for other parties to weaken the position and
00:44influence of the community in their own homeland. The Selangor ruler urged Malaysians of all races and
00:51religions to respect each other's sensitivities and live together in peace. Sultan Sharfuddin said,
00:59the spirit of Aidil Adha reflected the values of sacrifice, sincerity and unity in the Muslim
01:05community as demonstrated by the millions of pilgrims gathering in Mecca regardless of race,
01:11race, rank or social standing. Hanyu Zhou, FMT
