An uncommon stovepipe tornado was recorded in southeastern Nebraska amidst the current tornado outbreak, which has already led to a Particularly Dangerous Situation alert and an EF3 in Howard County. Stovepipe tornadoes, known for their cylindrical form, are linked to the most extreme EF4 and EF5 storms. Meteorologists caution that the conditions still pose a risk for additional tornadoes.

00:00A rare and terrifying stovepipe tornado was captured on camera as it tore through southeastern
00:05Nebraska last night. And the video is going viral for a reason. A stovepipe tornado is one of the
00:11most dangerous tornado shapes on record. Unlike a thin rope funnel, a stovepipe tornado is wide,
00:18vertical, and almost perfectly cylindrical from cloud to ground, indicating an extremely powerful
00:24and well-organized vortex. Witnesses described the tornado as eerily silent before the roar arrived.
00:31This type of tornado formation is more associated with violent EF4 and EF5 events, the deadliest on
00:38the scale. This is the same system that has already produced a particularly dangerous situation tornado
00:44watch. And in EF3 in Howard County, meteorologists say conditions in Nebraska and Kansas remain ripe
00:52for additional tornado formation tonight. This outbreak is not over. The footage is both
00:58breathtaking and terrifying. A reminder that Tornado Alley produces some of the most powerful
01:03weather events on Earth.
