00:00The Cuban education system, under unprecedented pressure due to the escalation of U.S. aggressions,
00:05announced this Tuesday a set of structural measures to conclude the 2025-2026 school year.
00:11Education Minister Naimat Trujillo explained that these adjustments are the result of a thoughtful and thorough assessment of the complex
00:18situation the nation is facing.
00:20The early closure is scheduled for between June 15th and the 30th, but schools will remain open as community spaces,
00:25guaranteeing care for children and teenagers, especially those in vulnerable situations.
00:30Both the Minister of Education and the Minister of Higher Education, Walter Baluja,
00:35emphasize that this is an adaptive reg organization aimed at sustaining one of the fundamental pillars of the country's social
00:41project.
00:45A number of logistical and safety constraints have led us to conclude that it is appropriate to bring forward the
00:51end of the school year to the period from June 15th to June 30th.
00:57We had previously published published in the Gazette in July,
01:02and we believe it is feasible based on our assessment of the current situation,
01:08and what we can do in the future regarding the adjustments we have planned for later,
01:14and that this would help everyone navigate this very complex situation that families are facing, and of course our faculty
01:21as well.
01:22Thank you for telling us all about our support and our attention.
