00:00So, welcome Baman sir and Devayandu to INS. It's been an absolute pleasure to have you with us on board
00:05today.
00:06Firstly, you saw the trailer of Boss like everybody else and genuine review is it is definitely looking like a
00:12blockbuster.
00:12It's coming from an audience perspective.
00:14And it looks very masala bhi hai, emotions bhi hai, so plot hai.
00:19So, after a very long time, I think asa put dikha hai.
00:22Firstly, I wanted to know what made you say yes to these characters considering the kind of picture you have
00:28portrayed in life.
00:30You have shown that characters, why did you say yes to this considering this is also your self debut?
00:37Mine, yes.
00:38You are looking at me but you are asking me.
00:39No, I am sorry sir.
00:42Please.
00:43I mean, it was for me because when I listened to a story and honestly, before listening to a story,
00:48when I met a director from Bucchi Babu,
00:50without listening to a story and characters,
00:52I decided that I am doing this film.
00:55There are very few people who meet with such a open heart, with such a love and respect.
01:01When I met them, I would know that this is a good film.
01:05I felt a very little idea of what the world is.
01:09Obviously, it was the name of Ramcharan Ji.
01:11I was three films.
01:12This is a great name and a very respected name.
01:15So, I had honestly decided to listen to the story and characters before listening to the story
01:19that I would like to do a work with this person.
01:21Because there is a story in his mind.
01:23And for this, my character, whatever length it is,
01:28is important.
01:30So, you know, that's what you want from your director.
01:33Your character should be there contributing something towards the screenplay of the film.
01:38You know?
01:39Right, absolutely.
01:40And sir, the same question to you.
01:42What made you say yes to the movie?
01:46Same as him.
01:48No, no, no.
01:51I think...
01:52So, narration happened.
01:54Narration happened.
01:55And Bucchi Babu came and said,
01:58I can't do narration because his Hindi is not so good.
02:01And he couldn't communicate as well.
02:05Because his Telugu is strong.
02:09But he only took over the narration.
02:12Because the whole passion...
02:15Bucchi Babu is a very small-made man.
02:18But his mind is too big.
02:21Full of big ideas.
02:24Eventually, passion is a very important thing.
02:27Passion, respect is important.
02:32Non-negotiable.
02:33Non-negotiable.
02:34Non-negotiable.
02:34If you're not passionate, if you're not respectful, why do you want me?
02:38Right.
02:38And third, the film is saying something bigger than what it shows.
02:44The point the film is making is for India.
02:49It's not just a vehicle of heroism.
02:53It's saying something huge about our country and something that is neglected in our country.
03:00And that is a part of the population of the film that is ignored completely.
03:05So the village that Peddi hails from doesn't exist on the map.
03:15It's metaphorical in many ways.
03:17They don't exist for us.
03:20Living in the city, walking around like this.
03:23So this character is in a suit.
03:24By the time he gets there, his pants are till here, his jacket is out.
03:28You know, we have to understand where these people come from and what they are capable of.
03:35And for me, that moved me a lot when he told me that story.
03:39So that's why I did the film.
03:41So if you could just share some light on what characters, what do your characters exactly are?
03:47If you could share some light on it.
03:49If I may go first, I play this character called Rambudji.
03:54And he represents a certain class of where this world belongs to.
04:01You know, he comes from an upper class and you know, there is a class tension there.
04:05And you know, he comes from a certain kind of privilege.
04:10And how these people, they treat Peddi and the likes of Peddi.
04:15For them, they are just not important.
04:17They are just a tool for them to go by every day in their lives.
04:22The film talks a lot about identity.
04:26And this is where, you know, these characters, they become a tool to showcase you that
04:31for these people, the likes of Peddi, they just have no identity whatsoever.
04:38In a nutshell.
04:41Same as him. No, I am.
04:44My character is from the ministry actually.
04:48And it is post the Olympics where we have won two medals and we are very proud.
04:54And the Tinwanan character says, what are you so proud about? Just two?
04:59And he is very, very frustrated.
05:01He is saying, absolutely right.
05:03We have resource.
05:04We are not using the resource.
05:06So he goes to a ground where there are lots of sports taking place.
05:11And all the villages of the area come and we ask, who is your favorite cricketer?
05:15Who is your favorite?
05:16Everybody says Peddi for every sport.
05:18He says, I want to meet this guy.
05:20So Peddi is representative of untapped talent.
05:26And that's why this moment where he says, I forgot.
05:31What am I? Oh, no, I'm blanking out.
05:34Your first dialogue?
05:35Yeah.
05:35The game changes player.
05:38Player.
05:38Right.
05:39So when he takes off on a journey, he goes looking for Peddi.
05:42And he has to go through great difficulty over all kinds of terrain and difficulty to find the man.
05:51Does he find him?
05:52See the movie.
05:53But it's, it's, it's, that's the character.
05:56Because the story is being told from what he's, he's being told by a character called Kurmayya in the film.
06:03What Kurmayya is telling me the legend of Peddi who is in this village more and more excited.
06:09And the audience is getting to see it from my, my viewpoint.
06:12Right.
06:13So, you know, considering that you have been in the Bollywood industry for so many years and have,
06:19you guys have delivered such phenomenal characters which just have stayed with us.
06:24Right?
06:24I wanted to know what made you actually say yes to South movie.
06:28Also, I wanted to know basically that how difficult is it working in the, difficult or different working in the
06:35South industry considering you, I mean,
06:44I'm not meaning to be, I have to give you a rough answer, but I'm now done with this North
06:50South.
06:51Yeah.
06:53Indians at the end of the day and each region you go to, I mean, the Dillite will speak different
06:58from Hindi than I speak.
07:00Right.
07:02It's just the cinema remains the same.
07:04The humanity remains the same.
07:07The people who love this country remain the same.
07:11Cinema grammar remains the same.
07:14It's a style.
07:15The language changes.
07:17Language changes every 200 kilometers.
07:19Am I saying that I'm a foreigner to those 200 kilometers?
07:22I'm not.
07:23I'm not.
07:24Neither are they foreigners to us.
07:27Right.
07:27Why are we doing this, these interviews here today?
07:30Because a film made, let's not call it South, in Hyderabad, have a certain language.
07:37People who hail from there, they are coming to Bombay to promote their film because it's part of this beautiful
07:44country.
07:45So, the only thing that we have to adapt to is the language.
07:49And for me, I think I've figured out a way how to do that.
07:53Once you do that and you understand what is the soul of that line, then language becomes easy.
07:59What is it that you're saying?
08:01What is the subtext of that line?
08:03What does it actually mean?
08:05Then, speak in Hindi, speak in English, speak in Marathi.
08:09But you have to deliver it to people.
08:11But if you think about it, then speak in your language.
08:15Right.
08:16But was it difficult to kind of take a dialogue?
08:18Difficult in Hindi, in any dialogue.
08:21But no thing is difficult if you practice hard.
08:27I have a question for you.
08:42Yes.
08:43So, I wanted to understand, please, how difficult, how different is it to working with somebody
08:48who's been around for almost 50 years, and to somebody who's from our generation, like probably
08:52in Hindi.
08:53How difficult is it working with them, not like per se in Hindi, but this generation?
09:02What kind of experiences would you like to have?
09:04I say, it's a privilege to work with everybody.
09:13Of course, it's a special privilege to work with Mr. Bachchan.
09:16Of course, when I worked the first time, I thought, how will I do it?
09:22Eventually, they're all artists.
09:28Eventually, you're not working, if you're working with what you call Gen Z or whatever.
09:34He's younger than me.
09:36If I don't learn something from him, then I am a fool, thinking that I am more experienced
09:42than the Gen Z character.
09:45I am the fool, because I have not learnt something new.
09:48Every day, you learn something new.
09:51I learn from Mr. Bachchan, I have learnt 5000 things.
09:54From a Gen Z person, I might learn 50 things.
09:58But I learn.
10:00And for me, that's very exciting.
10:02So, to think that I am more experienced, I may be wiser, because of age.
10:11But as far as acting is concerned, technique is concerned.
10:16Lawo bhai, hume sikhhao.
10:18Lawo.
10:21Ready to learn.
10:22Ready to learn.
10:25Sir, pakana, sir.
10:26I pakana, sir.
10:27Aapke liye.
10:28No, no.
10:29Achha, you had another question.
10:31Not the same one.
10:32Dusra.
10:32Dusra sawal.
10:33Yes, sir.
10:34Yes, sir.
10:34Dusra, we have seen you from your time since Bhyan Kapashnava to Abhi, Teddy of course.
10:40We have seen you give your best shot and select a guy different kind of project.
10:46It's not the way monotonous kind of, you know, meeting it as monotonous.
10:49Right?
10:50I wanted to understand that when you reflect on your journey, how do you see your journey?
10:55And, you know, you start scratch and you reach here.
10:59It's a big problem.
11:00So, when you look at it, when you look at it, do you be humble or do you be, you
11:06know, arrive?
11:08What is yours?
11:09What goes on here?
11:09What you said, scratch is very important to scratch.
11:13It's very important to scratch.
11:15It's very important to start from there.
11:18And, yeah, I've been very mindful of the fact that I've been very mindful of the fact that
11:25if I want to make a part of the story, that's better.
11:27I feel very blessed.
11:29I feel very humbled that wherever I am, without any, so to say, backing or whatever,
11:36that I always wanted to be an actor.
11:38Today, I'm a professional actor.
11:39People like my work.
11:40They give me love, respect my work.
11:42I remind myself of this each day when I go to the set, that I'm living the dream.
11:49And I understand there are so many still waiting in the wings.
11:52I got fortunate to get this chance.
11:54So, I always keep this very close to my heart.
11:58And I, each day, I'm very, very thankful to God, to energies, to artist gods up there.
12:05And I can actually go and express myself on screen.
12:08Absolutely.
12:09Sir, this is your question.
12:11Sir, this is your question.
12:12Sir, this is your question.
12:12Now, Painter, who is our senior actor, has made a video on social media.
12:16Oh, thank God.
12:18No, no, no.
12:19Yeah.
12:19No, no.
12:21No, no.
12:22No, no.
12:22I'm saying that he has made a video on social media.
12:25He was telling this audience that I'm not an actor.
12:30Because I don't have social media followers.
12:32I don't have any followers on social media.
12:33I don't have any followers on social media.
12:35Don't tell me, actor.
12:36In a very sarcastic tone.
12:38Yes.
12:38What is your take on the current trend of social media?
12:41That you say that casting is on that basis?
12:45Look, casting was on a different basis.
12:50Today, we blame it on social media.
12:53Sometimes people get cast for whatever reason.
12:56XYZ reason.
12:57I don't think we should put ourselves down.
13:00We should continue to have hope that our work will get us work.
13:04Our talent and our hard work and our intention.
13:06I do believe.
13:07Yes.
13:08There is a trend.
13:09There is a trend that you have followers.
13:11So you get cast.
13:14Why?
13:15If you are good, you will continue to work.
13:17If you are not good, you will not get to work.
13:20One shot will get everyone.
13:22So it's fine.
13:24It's not that because you have got a social media following,
13:27your career is set.
13:28It's not.
13:29You've got to work towards craft.
13:32If you don't work towards your craft,
13:34it depends on the longevity of your career,
13:38depending on how much you are willing to learn and grow.
13:43It's not that everybody,
13:46every social media person who has got a lot of following,
13:51does not get the longest of career
13:53unless and until they continue to work hard.
13:58And I think here, I think you guys also media, you guys have a certain responsibility to point it out
14:04if the whole thing is going towards one direction.
14:09Yes, it's good to ask questions to artists but also please take responsibility to point it out if such thing
14:15exists.
14:16It's very important.
14:17Audience points it out,
14:18in the comment section.
14:20No, no, comment section.
14:22In general?
14:23While watching, they know, they don't, we don't, we don't have to hear the comments.
14:28Yeah, otherwise like he said,
14:36It's not that we should be blocked out.
14:38It's not that we should be blocked out.
14:39It's not that we should be blocked out.
14:52And hard working.
14:54How?
14:54So please, everybody can get a chance.
14:58But the audience eventually decides.
15:00Comment section, no.
15:01Audience who comes to watch and knows.
15:05Sir,
15:05Abhi,
15:05Abhi,
15:06Abhi,
15:06Abhi,
15:06Abhi,
15:06Dharam,
15:08Dharam,
15:09Dharam,
15:09Dharam,
15:09Dharam,
15:10Dharam,
15:12Dharam,
15:14Dharam,
15:21Dharam,
15:22Basically,
15:23Is that true.
15:24Definitely,
15:24You can't negate the fact,
15:25that destiny is not dead.
15:27Yes,
15:27If you put in the hard work,
15:29If it is not even successful,
15:31then when someone sees it,
15:32He will tell you that you have made a good movie.
15:35You have made a good approach.
15:37Otherwise,
15:38that destiny tells you that this was not happened.
15:43So,
15:43For me,
15:44for at least,
15:45I tend to be like,
15:46Whatever I do,
15:47I shouldn't get embarrassed looking on screen.
15:50I believe there is a least common denominator in life, so I will do it on that.
15:54But destiny is definitely, but it works both ways.
16:00I believe in both ways. Yes, of course, there is destiny.
16:04But sometimes you can create your own destiny if you stick to the game.
16:10Because I do believe this will be a little cliched for you.
16:14The harder you work, the luckier you get.
16:15That is my belief system. There is luck.
16:19Right place, right time.
16:21But I am telling you that you come with an energy.
16:24And that energy has a destiny of its own.
16:26If you come with a negative energy, no matter how hard you work,
16:31your luck is never going to work for you.
16:33And luck is another thing.
16:35I believe that luck knocks on everybody's door.
16:39You should be alert and ready to grab it.
16:42It's not true.
16:43Luck was always there.
16:45Because you are spending time grumbling.
16:49Luck knocks on everyone's door.
16:51But if you are grumbling,
16:52Luck is over and went away.
16:57Spend your life not grumbling.
17:00Grumbling shooes away luck.
17:02Luck.
17:03Luck.
17:04I am sure you guys have had some kind of camaraderie with them.
17:18What is your take?
17:18What is your take?
17:24Dharam ji ke saath to mere sirf dekhne ke memories hain.
17:28Kabhi unke saath time nahi mila bitane ka.
17:30Aur dousra naam aapne li hai?
17:32Satish Chhaji.
17:32Amazing actor.
17:33I mean very happy ke our government is giving this kind of recognition to artists.
17:38Of course.
17:38Very very very happy.
17:39Of course.
17:40I am surprised it has not happened earlier.
17:43Dharam ji was the most loving person that I have met.
17:46Apart from being the handsomest.
17:48Apart from being the most charming.
17:50Apart from being the most...
17:52There was kindness in his voice.
17:55There was love in his voice.
17:56And when he used to meet you.
17:59He made you feel that you made me happy.
18:04I will never forget you know.
18:05Shook my hand and he put his hand like that on my face.
18:09We did this much.
18:10But my face shook like that.
18:12Toink.
18:14Ke panjay bat kamal ke de.
18:15But that love.
18:17And that kindness.
18:18And Satish.
18:20Always laughing.
18:22Always laughing.
18:23We miss him.
18:26Why should audiences watch your movie?
18:28Considering this is not the first movie that's related around this world.
18:32It's genuinely a good film.
18:34I think it's got a story which talks about identity like we discussed right now.
18:38It's just got so much of emotion.
18:40It's got so much of heart.
18:42It has everything honestly.
18:45Yeah.
18:45I don't think you have anything better to do around 4th of June.
18:49So you know might as well go watch a good film.
18:51See we don't have to like really talk about anything which is like larger than life.
18:56Go this.
18:56This movie will change your life.
18:58It's a good film.
18:59We made it with lot of heart you know.
19:01Lot of good people coming together.
19:03Just go.
19:04Enjoy.
19:04Have a good time there.
19:08I genuinely feel this is an all around entertainer.
19:11And as I said earlier.
19:13An entertainer that has something to say.
19:16About your country.
19:18What more do you want?
19:20The music.
19:22That dance has gone crazy.
19:24Right?
19:25This wonderful man.
19:27Raw.
19:28Rustic.
19:29Beautiful.
19:32I feel this movie as Ram Charan said a little earlier.
19:36A very sincere film.
19:38In all the big big set pieces and sincerity.
19:42Jho sab enjoy karengi.
19:44Mera daawai sab enjoy karengi picture.
19:47Thank you so much.
19:48And all the best for you.
19:49Thanks very much.
