00:00Multiple countries are speaking up for Taiwan's inclusion in the World Health Organization during its annual assembly, including some without
00:07formal diplomatic ties with Taipei.
00:10We as member states share the responsibility to support, guide and strengthen WHO. We need everyone's expertise and participation, including
00:23Taiwan's.
00:24The comments come after Taiwan's exclusion from the assembly for the 10th year in a row, mainly due to objections
00:31from China, which considers Taiwan part of its territory.
00:34Still, Taiwan's diplomatic allies, as well as a number of other countries, including Estonia, Lithuania and France, advocated for its
00:42inclusion.
00:43To meet the demands of today's crises and those ahead, the WHO must continue to uphold the highest standards of
00:50technical exits.
00:51In that spirit, like others, we call for Taiwan to have meaningful access to all relevant technical WHO meetings and
00:59to observe the World Health Assembly, as it did from 2009 to 2016.
01:05A Taiwanese delegation is also putting on an expo and forums on the sidelines of the assembly.
