China says it won't allow Taiwan to take part in the annual assembly of the WHO. Taipei said it would send a delegation to Geneva anyway for meetings outside the actual event.

00:12Beijing insists Taiwan is part of China and says it is acting to uphold the One China Principle,
00:19along with related United Nations resolutions.
00:24Taiwan, which is excluded from most global organizations due to Chinese objections,
00:28says it will still send a delegation to Geneva for site meetings and events outside the Mint Assembly.
00:35Taiwan was previously allowed to attend the World Health Assembly as an observer between 2009 and 2016,
00:42but has been blocked since 2017.
00:45In Taipei, Health Minister She Chung Liang called the exclusion a shame,
00:50saying Taiwan should not be left out given global health challenges.
00:53He said Taiwan will continue to engage with international experts on the sidelines,
00:58while Foreign Minister Lin Xiaolong said he may also travel to Geneva.
