00:18It happened along Jalan Losong Ferry in Kuala Terengganu Tuesday afternoon.

00:29Police say the car, driven by a 43-year-old man,
00:32was travelling from Kuala Terengganu city centre towards the Losong Museum.

00:42from Taman Manir, towards the city.
00:44The car driver is believed to have suddenly lost control of his vehicle
00:48before skidding off the road and straight into a street lamp pole,
00:51standing in the centre of the road.
00:53The car then veered into the opposite lane and slammed into the oncoming van.
00:58The force of the impact brought the pole crashing down onto the van
01:02and it struck 18-year-old Wah Han Keong in the head.
01:05The teen was pronounced dead at the scene while his father,
01:08the van driver, Wah Tee Toon, sustained minor injuries to his hand.
01:13The car driver's 8-year-old son, who had been sitting in the front passenger seat,
01:17suffered minor leg injuries.
01:19His wife and two other children, aged 11 and 1, escaped without injury.
