00:00All right, let's do a little real or fake.
00:03713-572-4610, YouTube and Twitch, you can jump in on this.
00:06Tyler, a little real or fake?
00:08Let's stay with the Astros.
00:10Jeremy Pena, who just returned yesterday from the hamstring issue,
00:15Jeremy Pena will get traded by the Astros by the deadline.
00:20Real or fake?
00:21What does he have?
00:22Just the one year left on his deal, I believe.
00:25Shortstop's pretty damn important.
00:27You can't be tossing your eggs into the basket of Agent Carlos Correa,
00:31who is not playing the remainder of this season.
00:33I want to say fake, but you just never know with this dude
00:41running as general manager of the Houston Astros with Dana Brown.
00:44But I say fake.
00:45All right, real or fake, Clint?
00:46Jeremy Pena will get traded by the deadline.
00:50Oh, I'm going fake as well.
00:51I'm not there yet.
00:53The ice is thin, I will agree, but I'm not there yet.
00:56No, you were talking about Pena, Hunter Brown, Jordan Alvarez.
01:00I mean, we got that.
01:02You put Pena in that camp?
01:05Like, you put him in with Hunter Brown?
01:08No, I don't put him in the – I put him in the –
01:10I'm not ready to say they're going to trade him camp,
01:12which I think there's several guys in that camp,
01:16and he happens to be one of them.
01:17I don't put him in the untouchable tier, no.
01:19But I don't – right now, no.
01:21I'm not in the we're going to be sellers at deadline camp yet.
01:25I mean, I'm close, but I'm not there yet.
01:26Oh, that's where you're not even talking about sellers yet.
01:29Okay.
01:29So, no, I don't think he's – I don't think Jeremy Pena's traded by the deadline.
01:33I'm going to say fake, but I do –
01:40the Dana Brown thing is why I'm going to say fake.
01:45I don't know if Jim will allow – unless Dana is going to be here for a long term.
01:51I don't know.
01:52I feel like Jeremy Pena falls into the camp of Jim Crane saying,
01:57no, Jack, that's not one you get to make the call on.
02:03I think he could probably – I think he probably gets a chance to make the call
02:06on the Brian Abreu, maybe something like that.
02:09I think there are some where Jim is like, no, Pena, Hunter, Al Parade is even maybe in that.
02:19No, man, we'll hold on to them and figure things out.
02:24But it would make sense if you had your general manager in place
02:28that was going to be the one that you're going to allow and make all the decisions.
02:32He would make sense to get as much as you could out of if you're going to be sellers.
02:39He would make sense to make a move there.
02:41So I think there's – I think it's fake,
02:43but just really because of the lame duck status of their general manager.
02:46All right, real or fake, Clint, let's go here.
02:50Kyler Murray, he will get a second contract from the Minnesota Vikings.
02:55Right now he's on a one-year, $1.3 million deal.
02:58As we know, he's getting all that money from the Cardinals.
02:59But he's on a one-year deal right now.
03:02Real or fake, Kyler Murray will get a second contract from the Vikings.
03:05This may be your best one you've ever come up with.
03:10Because I could see where he completely bombs out
03:14in trying to play baseball in the next year.
03:21I disagree with one thing you hear from a lot of people about Kyler Murray.
03:25I heard Warren Moon talking about it a couple of days ago.
03:28Like, I think it takes real game action for you to really see
03:32what Kyler Murray is all about.
03:35I think in practice, J.J. McCarthy is going to look just as good,
03:38if not better, because he knows the system
03:40and he's had to win from the pocket where Kyler has been
03:42a little bit of a freelancer in his career.
03:45So I'm worried about Kyler not being the starting guy.
03:48Oh, you think that's a possibility.
03:50I think that's a possibility.
03:51Look, I think when you look at Kyler in practice,
03:55the arm is average at best.
03:59The size scares you.
04:00The athletic ability is minimized because you're in practice
04:03and you're not hitting him anyway,
04:04so you don't get to see the athletic ability making plays.
04:08And so, and obviously new system where J.J.'s been in it for several years
04:12or two years.
04:15Yeah, I'm worried about him being the starter.
04:19I believe that for Kevin O'Connell to say he is the starter,
04:22Ron, I think he's going to have to lean heavily into,
04:24obviously, the tape of what he does athletically outside the pocket
04:27and just go, hey, this is going to be my guy.
04:29I'm a little worried how that decision is going to go.
04:31But even if it does, no, I don't think he earns a second contract.
04:35Yeah, I think I'm going to say real because I, listen,
04:39if he can't make it work with this quarterback or this quarterback guru
04:43and this offense with these weapons,
04:46I think they are hell-bent on not letting Sam Darnold happen to them again
04:50to where Sam Darnold plays the way he plays and you let him go
04:55and now he goes to Seattle and you're stuck here.
04:57I think he will have every opportunity to send J.J. McCarthy on.
05:01And I think he will play well enough for them to say, all right,
05:07we feel we got a better shot future-wise with him as opposed to that.
05:12But I agree.
05:12In game, he is going to look.
05:15But in game, you get him and Jefferson and some of those guys together.
05:18I want to see it.
05:19I want him to be the starter in Minnesota.
05:20I want to see that athletic ability.
05:22I want to see that guy play the quarterback position at the NFL level
05:25and be one of 32.
05:25No question about it.
05:28No question about it.
05:29I just wonder how the skill set, the thought of the guy doesn't watch film
05:34and doesn't study enough, in this system, that's going to bite you in the tail.
