03:32Day is launch day, finally, after all of this full year of working on this book,
03:39the motions, the roller coaster.
03:40I get to share their story with the world.
03:43It's been so healing in so many ways, and I'm just really excited.

03:53It's emotional, because it's been a long journey to get here.
03:58I just got back from Malaysia and in Taiwan.

05:18I don't know any way to see the sun again.
05:21And I think you don't have to lose someone to understand the book.
05:24I think if you've lost yourself along the way,
05:27it's a really great book for somebody to help find themselves.

08:49like giving the same type of skin oh and like a beautiful moment as well being like the first
08:57model with vitiligo to walk for victoria's secret yeah that's so special it is an iconic moment

09:08breaking barriers in like a lot of areas of your life and we like to celebrate the uniqueness and

09:18able to see you for years to come so it's like a very exciting thing that's what i was really
09:22interested to like talk about as well because with vitiligo and i feel like a lot of people
09:26don't realize this but my skin changes over time there's such a big difference in my skin
09:33over the years and so i was really like interested to talk to you guys about that whenever you make
09:38that decision whenever you feel like you've your skin has changed to the point that you want your
09:42figure to change we can do that for you that is so cool it's like the biggest stamp of representation
09:50for me that we could also showcase the evolution of vitiligo and i'm really excited and kind of
09:57nervous to see what it looks like once they're finished and i want to make this not just about
10:02me and about the wax figure but about the representation and showcasing the beauty and being different

12:33proud of where we've been and proud of where we're going i think a lot of good stuff i love

12:38i'm proud of you and in many ways forgiving me for overlooking her own pain jerry used to say all
12:46you need is love and if you have love we can get through anything i feel honored and privileged that

13:19and it happens so fast but yet so slow it's kind of weird to describe
13:26now that uh we're leaning into the direction i feel that it's best for the brand we've gotta keep
13:31momentum and it's kind of critical to have an opportunity to partner with other companies
13:36with to have a different outreach i'm here to do an event with shopify and also have a master class
13:42about inspiration and beauty and my journey in beauty my journey in makeup
13:52hey everyone it's one year anniversary of win beauty and we are partnering with shopify to have this
13:58fabulous pop-up so come on up this event is about empowering women it's about strength and confidence
14:05and just getting out of bed and facing the world that we face i'm really excited to talk about things
14:12that are inspiring and also talk about makeup and what makeup means to me make up my journey with makeup

14:35i should start off if you could share a little bit about your early founder story your obsession with
14:43makeup and why you wanted to start okay i love this so um i've always been
14:48obsessed with makeup or i've always been obsessed with beauty and then as a as a tennis player
14:52it's very difficult to like go out and wear makeup the whole time because we sweat a ton
14:58so i would always try to figure out what can i do to like elevate my look so i start
15:03out with
15:03accessories and then i found this really cool dynamic eyeliner that never came off in fact two
15:08days later was still beyond a lot of people don't know this but the cat eye was like
15:14your signature your i call it my warrior paint warrior yeah i felt like a real warrior once i
15:21had like my eyeliner on it my eyebrows done and my blush on i felt like now i'm ready to
15:26step on the
15:26court it like completed the look it's empowering yeah yeah first of all like this product was there
15:33any imposter syndrome the way you were making it you know a lot of the times i always tell my
15:38because i i
15:38invest and i have a venture company so i work with a lot of founders and one thing that i
15:43always tell
15:43my founders if you ever get to a point where you're like oh i just don't know if i can
15:47do this why am i
15:48doing this that's a good position to be in i feel like whenever you get there then you're on the
15:53right
15:53path and if you never get there then you need to do more yeah it was a lot of doubt
15:59but you know doubt is
16:01just you know i think something that is negative and you can't let that live in your mind for long
16:07i've always said the success of one woman is the inspiration to the next and should be the
16:13inspiration to the next and we should help lift each other having people feel inspired by the beauty
16:18products it fills my cup we have something that's really unique and really special now we just have
16:23to get it in more people's hands qbc headquarters yeah at the studio

16:59amazing you like yes it looks amazing we're very excited for the launch we've already designed a whole
17:07big collection actually i don't know which one i like better the gold or the pewter probably the
17:12gold is like more christmassy but for all year round the pewter is amazing i mean i've always loved
17:18design and entertaining and so it's just a natural evolution that i would go into home because i feel
17:25like i could do that with my eyes closed and hands tied behind my back good morning everybody oh how
17:32pretty oh there are my pillows everything's everything's kind of set up we're going to like
17:36put you through almost like what it will be like when i do tommy and i have decorated many different
17:42homes and we're starting the collection with things that were inspired by my greenwich connecticut
17:49home and that's what inspires the product that i'm selling with mrs h on qbc we've done a collection
17:56that is called holiday but it really could be you know any any time of the year because it's guest
18:04training and not the true live show we'll just hang out here talk about these two items for a while
18:08they'll tell me to wrap and then we can like feel how that went and okay yeah qbc is a
18:14whole different
18:15animal it's a finely tuned machine where they know exactly who their customer is and they know exactly how
18:21to sell to her so before doing live tv i have to go to kind of a qbc school and
18:29learn what their
18:31expectations of me are and how to go on air and how to talk about products how to hold products
18:37so
18:38it's it's a lot all right all set okay in four three two and one all right well welcome back

18:48i'm joined by d hilfiger she's known for lots of great fashion lines and here you are for the
18:54first time at qbc with your beautiful home collection i can't wait to show you what we've

19:07i'm losing hair on air losing the extensions we can't have that there is a lot of pressure there's
19:15an expectation doing live tv and i'm very nervous but i think pressure is good but i feel like i'm
19:23the new girl on the block and so they don't really know me and i do believe that if if
19:28it does well
19:29it will give me more credibility if you wanted to take the candle holder out of the basket and say
19:34i
19:35really want you to come in close and i would love to show this detail you could stay here hold
19:40still
19:40and look at the preview monitor and once you see they've captured it then you can say what you
19:44want to say okay makes sense it looks a lot easier than it really is and i would like pick
19:51one up and
19:52i would talk about the scalloped edge and the tartan plaid you know when you launch a brand for qbc
19:58you only have one chance to make a good first impression how did it feel for you good yeah it's

21:55and i'm going on the road again i think it's been healing for sure how's the reception been with like
22:00bestseller like i think it's before we found out that we were a new york times bestseller
22:09i cannot believe it i have made the new york times bestselling list i am the only debut author
22:18the new york times bestseller on this week's new york times bestseller i made it i made the new
22:26times bestselling author i mean we're all pissed off yeah i can't believe it how did we get here
22:34and how honored i am that my book matters enough to people to want to get it and want to
22:40read it love
22:40how relatable the story was and that's a beautiful thing and i think it's helped a lot of people certainly
22:46helped me i read it cover to cover and i told you i loved your intro her intro is so
22:53beautiful
22:53it's beautiful but wait let's talk about the stadium for a moment you just crushed super bowl
22:59baby you were super bowl oh my god i don't even remember who played that was epic i didn't think
23:05it was going to be like that i just thought i'm going to go i'm going to dance because you
23:10know
23:10kindred's like you should do this we've been trying to work together for years
23:14and i was like fun like when am i ever going to be at a super bowl like ever like
23:18that i play tennis
23:19maybe i'll be on the football field but not dancing the super bowl was crazy like kendrick
23:25and his team called me like 10 days before he was representing compton and i'm from compton and you
23:32know bringing in that story of our journey together he was an artist and obviously me being an athlete
23:38when he explained it to me i was like uh yeah count me in this is the last time i'll
23:43be able to do
23:43something like this so yeah for sure all right this is pretty dope i am here at the super bowl

23:49on the ground of the superdome it's showtime baby let's go let's go we've got this come on before the
23:57dancing at the super bowl i was definitely nervous it was way more stressful than playing a final of a
24:02grand slam gosh i gotta go to the bathroom it's a bad time to have to pee it was crazy
24:08but i went
24:09out there to have a blast and i had no idea that in a big way it would be so
24:13viral i was just there to
24:20dance
24:21this is the that was the best 10 seconds of my life 10 seconds
24:26were the kids so proud of me yeah olympia's like so someone at my school said they saw you on
24:31tv
24:31i was like oh my god i'm so embarrassed i'm like did you show it to her i try to
24:35be just the most
24:36average mom like i'm just like oh my gosh the average mom keep trying honey listen you know that's
24:42not me i was screaming at the top of them i was like hit rewind on that go back did
24:47win see a great
24:50like reception after you did super bowl like win beauty well yeah we saw such a huge uptake on social
24:57our ulta business so it was um it was intense and it was good after the super bowl win got
25:02a nice
25:02influx and a lot of people were visiting the brand more learning about the brand more people didn't
25:07really know that the brand really existed you need moments like that when you're building a brand if
25:12you're able to have them and we were very fortunate and lucky quite frankly to have that opportunity
25:18that's like the best commercial in the world there was a huge reception and in particular because i was
25:23active while i was doing it because that's what we're all about one thing i've learned from this
25:28past year is that i think it's super important to stand by your vision even when things are not going
25:33the way you want them to go or people are saying that oh we should do this and you know
25:37in your heart
25:38and your chest and your soul that that is the wrong direction and you have to continue to fight for
25:43it
25:43i really had to take a hard pivot i was like listen guys i love your guys vision for the
25:48company but this
25:50isn't working and so it was really hard but we had to let a few people go sometimes the pivot
25:54it's a pain in the butt but it's necessary it's necessary and it's nothing bad it's just like i want
25:59people to really get my vision what i hope next for win is you know expanding to different retailers
26:05um building our d2c business and one day getting to be international we all are here with the same
26:12goal and the same mind frame as we want to win life is a long journey of learning and and
26:18ultimately
26:19winning is showing up everything starts and begins with you i gotta run i know you gotta go

27:07you're braided on you know how much money is sold within you know a minute they set goals for you

27:16i find are often very lofty goals the fact that you can get feedback from the customer in real time
27:23you know there is a lot of pressure when i came for the walkthrough it wasn't easy and you just
27:30don't want to make mistakes particularly when you're launching i mean the the mrs h line is super
27:34important to me it is personal and you know i never want to fail at anything that i do you
27:40guys are

27:50the mrs h by d hill figure and it is absolutely gorgeous and wonderful to meet you so nice to

28:01you this is so exciting happy your collection is here and we're starting with this beautiful cashmere
28:06and wool plaid throw should we go through the colors together yes so this first one must be
28:12our sapphire this is the sapphire which i love you know this one not to embarrass my dad but we
28:18had
28:19a blue plaid blanket in our family that my father would just never ever throw away years i mean decades
28:26so i'm thinking that i'm he's going to get this blanket this christmas beautiful the plant is so
28:32isn't it gorgeous they are so soft and i don't know if you guys can see this fringe detail on

28:39it's the real deal yeah i'm feeling pretty good you know i i know the product and i genuinely
28:47love what they did and what they designed i wanted to create an alpine ski holiday what i love about
28:54doing the live selling is that you can actually describe in detail what the product is how you even
29:01came up with the design why you came up with design how you can use the product and it's done
29:07in like
29:07a fun engaging way even though you know we do live in palm beach i still get that vibe of
29:14like i may be
29:15on an aspen holiday because your home is really family yeah all the kids and being home she has a
29:21lot
29:21of kids we have a lot of kids how many total seven seven there you go seven seven kids one
29:26grandchild
29:26truly cozy brady bunch a little bit we are i actually really enjoyed doing live tv it's motivating
29:35when you're on air live and you have the earpiece and you're seeing in real time that people are
29:43reacting to what you're saying or they like your product you know that just kind of motivates you
29:48even more we gotta end over here and with all of our friends but especially d he'll figure out

30:01a really good first appearance and kind of dipping my toe in and uh i'm excited for the next

30:42and energy into it and that's what i love about being an entrepreneur the magic is like a lot of
30:48hard work so this is one of mine and i've always loved fashion there has to be a point of
30:53view and
30:53like a direction or a vision otherwise it's just stuff gotta make her a little sexier gotta show

31:07nearly 60. there's no better feeling than that the design is fantastic thank you so much when i
31:14married my first husband his idea of what a wife should be like is like you know i need to

31:20the kitchen you know in my lingerie 60 is the new 40 and 40 is the new 20 so means
31:29i'm 20.

32:06a wax figure this is another powerful moment in my career where i get to highlight others

32:43so many people showed up to show love and to support and a lot of them that

33:23truly i'm i'm still that little girl who wanted um to see myself on a billboard who wanted to see
33:29myself on a cover and through the work that i've done as a model as an entrepreneur i've been able

33:38create a community that i longed for that means the absolute world to me so thank you guys so much

33:45coming out this is a celebration of you and your differences and showcasing them to the world and
33:52being proud and standing in who you are well is everyone ready to see the next one three two one

34:58it's really inspiring it's awesome to be a part of a community of women who are like
35:03moving the needle forward when anyone comes to see my wax work i hope they feel seen i hope that

35:17and no one can stop you as long as you are on your side little winnie would have never imagined
35:24not just feeling seen but having others feel seen through her little winnie would um
35:38everything i do it's really for that little girl i feel like i've accomplished a lot and i'm really
35:44proud of what i've accomplished my goal for k and for even our future products is to only go higher
