00:00Jeremy Pena's back.
00:02He is back in the lineup.
00:04Hey, come on.
00:05And JP is leading off.
00:07It's a panty dropper.
00:08You're damn right.
00:09And I'm telling you, there are a lot of people in Minneapolis
00:12who don't see the likes of him a lot.
00:14And so there may be some panty dropping on the road
00:16happening to the people of Minneapolis, St. Paul,
00:22visiting from Duluth all over the place in Minnesota,
00:25coming to get a piece of Jeremy Pena.
00:30He's in the lineup, though, playing shortstop and leading off, fellas.
00:34Welcome home.
00:35Yeah, come on.
00:36Here we go.
00:36That's one of the big guns.
00:38Cavalry's coming.
00:39That's one of the big ones.
00:40Yeah, on the day after one of the other ones went out.
00:43That's all right.
00:43Come on.
00:43Let's go.
00:44It's all right.
00:45He's leading off, baby.
00:47Paredes gets to play again today.
00:48He's right behind him in the order.
00:50One-two punch.
00:52With Alvarez behind him and Walker behind him.
00:54That's a nice little top four.
00:58How long do you think it's going to take for us to get Jeremy Pena?
01:03Like the Jeremy Pena that this team needs
01:08and that we're accustomed to seeing.
01:09Well, I'll be honest with you.
01:11I don't know beyond getting flipped in front of second base
01:14and then getting pegged the next at bat and being sore
01:17and not being able to be in the lineup or in the field the following day,
01:21whether it be Corpus or Sugar Land.
01:23And I'll be honest, I don't even know what his numbers have looked like
01:28in Sugar Land.
01:29I don't know if he swung it well.
01:32I don't know.
01:33And clearly the Astros don't have any guardrails on that
01:36because they let MI pitch after he was awful in Sugar Land.
01:39So it's not like they had to go out there and do something in a game
01:46that was on the positive side.
01:48I just have no idea.
01:50So I don't know what to expect.
01:53Yeah, I don't either.
01:54But we'll see.
01:56You would imagine it may take him a little time to get into some things
02:00and a little time for him to get going a little bit
02:03because we haven't seen him play.
02:05And he hasn't really played a ton at the major league level in a while.
02:11But it's well needed to get Jeremy Pena.
02:15Again, this dude was their best all-around, everyday player last year,
02:19and they've just really not had a lot of him.
02:22He came into the season with an injury,
02:24and he was kind of going in and out, in and out,
02:27and now he's had this hamstring issue.
02:29So Jeremy Pena is back in the leadoff spot starting back into the day in Minneapolis.
02:34One good thing, quick old Twitter search.
02:36A couple doubles, a couple of doubles in the stint.
02:40So he's been able to stretch the hamstring out a little bit
02:42and hasn't had any problems.
02:43Clearly, you know, he survived the train wreck.
02:46The tackle.
02:47Yeah, the tackle there at second base
02:49and the hit-by-pitch right after that.
02:52So he has been obviously swinging it well
02:55and been able to stretch out that gait a little bit
02:57and test that hamstring.
02:58So that's good.
03:00That's good relative to him, you know,
03:02hitting the ground running full speed, obviously, no pun intended.
03:05Full speed here, you know, as soon as he gets on the field today.
03:10All right, also coming from Chandler Roma of the Athletic,
03:14there are pitching moves coming to the Astros.
03:17Jason Alexander is here at Target Field.
03:20Nate Pearson, who also has not pitched yet,
03:23has been clocking over 100 miles an hour in the minors.
03:26He has a locker, too.
03:28The team has not yet announced a move.
03:35Somebody's ass is going down.
03:38Somehow the way that reads right there,
03:39I cannot think that the organization is happy with that.
03:45Go to hell.
03:47Before we announce who's even on the trip with us,
03:50the reporters are in the locker room
03:53and see that we've got guys and pick their phone up and go,
03:56oh, by the way, this guy's got a locker
03:59and the other one I just saw walked to the shower.
04:01So they're here.
04:01I mean, listen, you let them in.
04:04You know, that's what happened.
04:06Yeah, not knocking any reporters at all for doing that.
04:09I'm just saying it'd be ideal that the team went ahead and announced, right,
04:14would go ahead and announce before letting reporters in the locker room
04:16who's there and what the plan is.
04:18Yeah.
04:18A couple of things injury-wise also.
04:21Myers thought Jake may be back on this trip.
04:24We'll see.
04:25They are just now in the Twin Cities,
04:27so he is not currently with them at this point as Pena has returned,
04:33but Jake Myers seems to be getting close.
04:36And Josh Hader is going to need a little bit more time.
04:41Astros general manager said of Hunter Brown.
04:45Hunter Brown, sometime in mid-June, Hunter Brown will throw live BP on Tuesday,
04:50and he could be on his first minor league rehab appearance by the weekend,
04:56said Dana Brown.
04:57That move that brought Jason Alexander just announced 50 seconds ago.
05:02Who's coming?
05:03Cody Bolton has been DFA'd.
05:07I really like Cody.
05:09DFA.
05:11The guy that comes in in games that are out of hand
05:14and has the ability to go three innings,
05:16I mean, that's probably a pretty valuable guy for this team.
05:19He came in with the game in hand.
05:21Yeah, he came in 2-0, didn't he?
05:23He let all three of them down runs and score.
05:27Yeah, Pete finished up giving a five-er.
05:29Oh, Pete, man.
05:30Sorry, Cody.
05:31And it was good times, man.
05:33Really was.
05:33Somebody will pick you up, I think.
05:40But, yeah, Dana says it could be mid-June,
05:43so we'll actually see what that means with Hunter Brown.
05:46And it looks like the closer Josh Hader is going to need more time, too.
05:52He'll need a little bit more time than they previously thought,
05:54so maybe that's not a big gun that is on the way.
05:58But also, we haven't really talked a lot about Jose Altuve.
06:04He is on the IAL, went to the IAL over the weekend,
06:08grade 2 left oblique strain.
06:12And, I mean, we'll see how long he's out.
06:15I know Jake is out with like a back and oblique strain,
06:19and I don't think his was as severe.
06:23So, the heart and soul of this team, Jose Altuve,
06:26he's going to miss, I'd say, a good amount of time,
06:29and we'll see where the Astros are when he gets back.
06:33But they're going to be missing him for a little bit.
06:35Yeah.
06:36Bryce Matthews, your time, baby.
06:38Yeah, brother.
06:39The good thing is you do have a couple of young guys that are stepping up
06:42that can play infield, that can hit leadoff or hit in the nine hole
06:47or hit in the top of the lineup if you need to.
06:48With Pena back, you don't need that.
06:50So, yeah, obviously you're going to feel when Altuve's not out there.
06:55So, hopefully he can get back as soon as possible.
06:57Damn obliques, man.
06:58We got some oblique issues.
06:59What is going on, man?
07:00You boys doing any corny offseason?
07:02Is this – is it getting worse with the new training staff?
07:06It damn sure ain't slowed down.
07:09No, it hasn't.
07:11No, it has not.
07:12I'm surprised as much action as Joe and that damn pitching coach got to the mound,
07:16I'm surprised they ain't got bad ankles or bad hammies or something.
07:18Maybe an Achilles might lose one with Josh Miller.
07:23As much action as they're getting, they need to be load managed.
07:27What do you mean?
07:28He needs to let old man, old WBC get him a couple in.
07:32Omar's got this one.
07:33Omar, man, take this one, man.
07:35That'd be –
07:35No chance at hell.
07:36He'll dive.
07:37Wouldn't that be a doozy?
07:39Hey, y'all, man, it's been a long season already, man.
07:40A spotter needed a day off.
07:41He's going to let Omar take this one.
07:42I feel like – I wonder has Omar been – does Omar feel like Joe's been treating him differently?
07:50No, Joe don't treat nobody different no matter what's going on.
07:53You feel like that might be your replacement right there?
07:56No, Joe don't mind you.
07:57Is he giving Omar the cold shoulder a little bit?
07:59No, man.
08:00Hey, Omar, quit telling me to play these guys.
08:03I'm telling you, we've got a load management schedule.
08:04I'm going to stick to it no matter how many injuries we have.
08:07No matter how many we got.
08:07We're not going to ask these older guys to put any more mileage on their legs, man, no matter what.
08:11Even if we can sweep, even if we can sweep the range, we're not going to do it.
08:14Not doing it.
08:14It's not happening.
