00:00You just came off a huge hit in France, C'était Mieux Demain.
00:04What's going to be the next hit for you? What's your next project?
00:08I'm going to direct my first film. I'm going to begin in August.
00:12So it's a drama comedy. I'm going to co-direct actually.
00:17So I'm very excited and it's
00:20something I was dreaming to do. So we'll see, but that's very exciting.
00:24It's UGC Producing. We just got Canal Plus
00:28and France Television. And it's something that came from social media
00:31during the pandemic. Tell us about that. Exactly. It's coming from like, I did
00:35some short films during the pandemic. I created a girl who's
00:40dreaming her life actually. It's all about dreams. She's dreaming her
00:44perfect life. She's not happy with what she's doing and she's dreaming
00:48what life could be, what life could become. And I believe
00:51in the power of dreams actually. That's amazing. And you're also developing
00:56English language projects as a producer. We announced your company.
01:00I'm developing a film on Simone de Beauvoir.
01:03In 1948, Simone de Beauvoir goes to America
01:06and she fell in love with an American writer
01:08called Nelson Algreen.
01:10And she's in between two men
01:12while she's writing The Second Sex.
01:14So I'm doing this film with
01:16Anne Fontaine and Christopher Hampton
01:18wrote the script.
01:20And Michael Shannon
01:22said yes for Nelson Algreen.
01:25That's amazing. So now you're here
01:27for this BYD Media One Award, which is a representation
01:30of how brands can finance content. What do you think
01:34about this idea of brand helping filmmakers and producers
01:38finance ambitious projects?
01:40I think it's so hard to raise money for films now.
01:43I feel, you know, doing a film is politic for me.
01:47Doing films is can help people, can help mentalities.
01:52I think it's very politic.
01:54So I do think it's
01:57anywhere you can find money
01:58to raise, you know, to help your film
02:01to make your dream come true.
02:03It's very helpful. So it's fantastic.
02:05And it's beautiful what Variety does,
02:07what Media One is doing.
02:09So many directors, young directors
02:11who are eager to develop their own stories.
02:15Thank you so much.
02:16That's great.
02:18Sorry, can I interject with one question?
02:20Yes, yeah.
02:21So you're also in the Muni Amador movie?
02:23Yeah, I am, I am.
02:23And it's also about a young girl who teaches your dreams.
02:26Oh yeah, it's about education.
02:28It's about this young girl
02:29who want to become a singwriter,
02:31a singer actually, opera singer,
02:33and I'm playing the teacher.
02:35And it's all about, you know,
02:36she grew up in the suburb.
02:38She has no access to, you know,
02:40to opera and to culture.
02:43And it's all about this.
02:45And that's almost very...
02:46Excuse me for the problem.
02:48Ah oui, bien sûr.
02:49No, no, but just that, you know,
02:51this is, you know, an award that is meant to
02:53literally call Bill Your Dream.
02:55And then, you know, you're making a film right now.
02:57Have you shot the Muni Amador?
02:59Yeah, we shot the Muni Amador.
03:00Yeah, but so you've made a film
03:01that's really about somebody that
03:03pursues their dream and does achieve it.
03:05Yeah, because I do believe in dreams in life.
03:07I always feel like you have to see in your mind.
03:12I believe in the power of, you know,
03:15positive thinking and I do believe in that.
03:17So, yeah.
03:18And it's the film about a young girl
03:21who wants to become a singer.
03:23And we succeed in doing it.
03:25And I'm playing a teacher.
03:26It's all about dreaming your life.
