03:11We'll join the England innings now in the second over, Bishop is rolling to Larkins.
03:20That's a left, a nasty one, it's gone down for four, and in fact, flipped the bat on the

18:07bounce is much more than uh capable anticipates but again i've been worried there capable i felt
18:14perhaps could have been flashing about at this stage of inning he tries to guide it down typical one
18:20day shot of course and he's got that one away beautifully down towards the mid-wicket boundary
18:31now that is a superb full shot there's a difference between a pull and the hook
18:35will allow jeff boycott to torture to it well he likes his shot does alan lamb and he's got in
18:41position early practice in front of the wiki which is a full shot there he is taking it across his
18:47body

18:57he's hit that straight back down the ground it's beaten the fieldsman a lovely firm straight drive

21:23that's best is a magnificent fieldsman the ball bounced sort of in but he made sure he stopped it
21:29well just getting away to clutter it whatever he can have alarm quite quickly very difficult to
21:35stop when the ball is landing just in front of you because the feeler has to feeler has to jump
21:40forward or dive forward to try and stop it
21:51and this will probably get it to that so one more to the total two hundred and four

23:28well that's pure pace pace from bishop for my money he's the best bowler in the west india side at
23:36the moment he's got pace he's got bounce he's young and he's strong and it's always nice to have the
23:42quickest bowler between two teams psychologically you can always call on him to bow quicker than
23:48anybody else the pure pace on a lens it's hard work to tail end is to have to hit a
23:55quick bowler at the
23:57straight through in and they love the sight of the option going they open their feet
24:02truly it hits the stump before the stump has finished rolling backwards the crowd absolutely erupt out of
24:08their feet well after larkins and lamb it was who held the england release together and some good
24:15partners with fair larkins in 61 laments with 68 but the mischance i thought was the 18-0 spin
24:23which england got slightly false down so let's look at the bowling figures now there you see
24:28richards and cooper are the key factors there nine overs of spin each or slow bowling rather
24:32richards competing 32 and hooper 34 but getting two with this marshall and bishop of course mocked up
24:38their end so west indies require 215 to win this match they require a run rate of 4.3 let's

24:47third desmond is ready without his usual partner gordon grenage has injured fat so carlisle best
24:54with fellow basins at the other end and this is also a man barbago's born
25:01that's been small one slip one dully 215 to win and the run rate required four points
25:10off the mark and a good shot and just see how fast it outfield really is
25:17nice comfortable half ollie on middle and leg or leg trump
25:23and desmond haines is much too good a player for his mother
25:26and precisely what england didn't want to start psychologically the west indies
25:31immediately on top developing a bit of momentum with the very first ball
25:35he's very disappointed with that ball with jackson uh particularly since we've got a six three
25:40offside field we've bowled so well in the uh setback and let's hope you can re-produce that here
25:49and if you produce something else
26:13and a good firm push brings three runs to the west indies
26:25in fact that was no more than the push just slightly short the batsman got back and just
26:30punched it into the covers lucky enough to find the gap in fact a little bit of bounce there
26:34gets up on his toes punches it through the covers extremely well played
26:49it was a shot but carlyle best i'm pretty certain he's outside that off stump with his front hand

28:46bit that is a little unlucky for desmond haynes it seemed to me that the ball got a bit big

28:51and it either hit the shoulder off the bat or a bit of glove and went flying away on the
28:56offside
28:58so desmond haynes is up well he's playing just a little bit to mid on is desmond haynes
29:03as that ball acts like a little leg cutter stands up just angle into the slits and hits the top
29:09edge of the slide
29:11so desmond haynes is out to quarter cover and it's 23 for two
29:17well phillips the phrase this middle of the crease just angles it in he see the ball kind of leg
29:21cut
29:22on desmond haynes just what we call holds up in tricky pitching about middlish and it just holds up
29:28to get the outside edge top of the back right on the top edge of the splice and lollipops up
29:36for
29:36an easy catch it further just angles in with his arm but when he pitches it holds up stands up

29:43oh and i think he could have caught that in my mum's finish no problem
29:48rovin smith the man using his hands
29:55but he's got it through that'll go for four

30:05the west indies travel on to 41 for two at the end of the 15th over
30:15he's got hold of this one
30:18bad ball very similar to the one we saw from frazier in the last over which richardson missed
30:23well this time he's put it away for four yes good shot here by richardson not a very good ball
30:30straightish can't condemn it too much it wasn't sliding down the leg side but obviously rich
30:35and having to get on with it crashes it for four picks it up and smashed through square leg now
30:43this is quite interesting one wonders how long dude should be able to keep these men up
30:46if he drops the man back saving the four of course the single could be taken

31:28they'll have to hurry again and he misses he picks it up and then drops it but hooper was a

31:37pressure now telling not only on the batsman but also on the fielders
31:41and stuart has had the opportunity to run hooper out twice in this over
31:46he's cardinal sin here by the fielder takes his eye off the ball can't do anything if you don't have
31:51the ball in your hand and there he is just there

32:07can angus fraser on the fingers and it goes all the way to the kingston club pavilion for four
32:16and the batsmen just now beginning to reassert themselves and with the 6-3 next side field
32:21this isn't really what england wants eddie hemmings allowing too much latitude there
32:26of course again somebody like richie richardson three men on the offside only
32:31crash bang and that's four runs the pressure coming off the west indies now slightly

32:48oh and look at that delivery go that obviously hit something and flew and this is where graham
32:56boot's decision was the correct one to bat first
33:00well richie can't believe this one it just came from nowhere as if there was a springboard in the
33:06middle of that pitch

33:16he was really quite lucky but that was a master delivery must have hit something

33:29in the defense it goes and i really think it was hemmings that was saying

33:37well the time has come i think carl hooper is the man they had contained i can understand there being

33:42of carl hooper he hasn't hit the ball anywhere really in the last 45 minutes but that's a long
33:48hard folly and he's a very elegant player and that was beautifully done
34:02he's bold in that's a vital breakthrough eddie hemmings has has affected it for england
34:10graham gooch knows how important it is
34:15so hooper who's used up all those deliveries just when it's mattered and when he had to kick on
34:22has got himself out very fine role this by daddy hammings
34:29just watch the face of the bat here close a little bit and middle and leg
34:35so a great breakthrough that for england 74 for three now and the mighty richards has arrived at the center
34:47oh that's a bad ball he's pulled it away is it's going to be six it's over the fence down

34:53there's a magnificent pull shot into the crowd down there at square leg just over the fence intact over
35:00the rope you can't bowl these to richie richards what i love about richards is his absolute commitment
35:07to the shot there's uh nothing half-hearted moment you see it short it's every ounce every muscle
35:15which is this short it's clearing away over the square leg boundary tremendous shot
