00:00The grant from the Port Kembla Community Investment Fund is going to be a godsend for Marine Rescue
00:06Port Kembla.
00:07We've been inside the building itself and we've seen the old panelling and how antiquated
00:17a lot of the stuff is.
00:18So being able to refurbish the inside of that to bring it up to a more modern standard.
00:23But also, more importantly, sometimes it's a lot wetter inside the building than it is
00:28outside.
00:29So we do have a major problem with water entering through the roof or by the roof.
00:34So our intention will be to put a tropical roof over the entire building itself, which
00:40will help us immensely and keep us nice and dry.
00:43But also the balcony is another area where we need to really focus on because there's
00:49a lot of rotted timber and we do cater for able-bodied persons as well as disabled persons.
00:57And we do have community groups coming through the building just for a look-see or training
01:05purposes.
01:06So we have to manage all of that and it's a big risk.
01:10It's a risk for a volunteer organisation.
01:14So hopefully with all this funding we'll be able to fix and remedy all of that and bring
01:18it up to a building that's for the future.
01:24It's going to be here for quite a bit more time.
01:27So hopefully with the folks we'll see here today, we'll see you in a week.
01:31And we're going to have a couple of months.
