00:24:50we were telling her mom that we were training for me.

00:24:56or any of this was in the works.
00:24:57So it was funny because I left,
00:24:59and she was like, hey, my mom just said,
00:25:01you know, some people just don't know when to quit.
00:25:04Interesting.
00:25:05So obviously her mother knows now that she's returning.
00:25:08What was she working on in training?
00:25:11Ronda was working on Ronda things.
00:25:13You know, she was closing the distance,
00:25:15getting the clinch,
00:25:16trying to do some damage before getting a solid takedown.
00:25:19Definitely working on making the transition
00:25:22from taking teeps, you know, moving her head,
00:25:25getting out of the way of punches.
00:25:26So, you know, she was very diligent
00:25:27on making sure she was focusing on herself,
00:25:31but also working on being defensive
00:25:33of anything that could come her way out of Gina,
00:25:34being a strong kickboxer.
00:25:36Yeah, there was a lot of questions about,
00:25:37should Ronda just keep leaning on the things
00:25:39that made her great, or should she work on the things,
00:25:41some of her weaknesses, in order to face Gina Carano?
00:25:44What did you feel when you saw her?
00:25:45I mean, I really believe that you need to work
00:25:47on what your opponent is good at, too,
00:25:49because you never know what situation
00:25:50you're going to need to get out of.
00:25:52You know, they have a good moment,
00:25:53you have a good moment.
00:25:54If you end up, you know, wobbled or whatever,
00:25:57like Ronda has experienced before,
00:25:59like, you need to know that you're going to get through it
00:26:01and what are your answers to that?

00:26:04if she only focused on her hands in those moments,

00:26:27There was a point in my early career
00:26:29that I actually had a picture in my gym of Gina,
00:26:33and that was the goal.
00:26:34That was someone that I eventually wanted to fight.
00:26:36She was beautiful, she was tough, she was strong,
00:26:39she was winning, and I remember looking at her
00:26:42and being like, that's incredible.
