At least eight people ⁠were killed and 25 others ‌injured after a train collision triggered a fire that engulfed a public bus ​in Bangkok on Saturday (May 16), ⁠rescue officials ⁠and police said.

00:07people and injuring more than 20 others. Thai media reported that the accident occurred
00:12in the afternoon, near the airport rail link's Makassan station. Deputy Transport Minister
00:17Siripong Ankasakulkyat said all eight victims were found on the bus. Authorities were still
00:23determining how many passengers were on board. He said reports that the bus had stalled on the
00:28tracks and that the crossing barriers may have malfunctioned were being investigated.
00:55The force of the impact dragged several nearby vehicles along the tracks
01:00before the bus caught fire.
01:02Motorcycles and riders were also thrown onto the road.
01:06Authorities said the situation was brought under control at 3.59 p.m.
01:11Police and other agencies have cordoned off the area as investigations continue to identify
