00:00And aboard Air Force One, Trump said that Xi Jinping agreed that the Strait of Hamuz
00:05must remain open to shipping. But China has actually stopped short of committing
00:11to pressure Tehran directly. There's clearly difference in tone and strategy when it comes
00:18to this issue. Yes, very clearly, Anne. And Beijing being much, much more cautious,
00:25as you'd expect in its language around this. In fact, in the official readout, they don't mention
00:31the Strait of Hormuz, although they do talk about keeping the shipping lanes open. Now,
00:36President Trump, aboard Air Force One, he was saying that basically Xi Jinping, he said,
00:44agreed that Iran should not have a nuclear weapon. He also went on to say when he was talking to
00:49reporters, that they also wanted the Strait reopened. Now, that's from President Trump going
00:58a little bit further, I think, than China, but also nothing concrete there. And actually,
01:03our colleague Emily, I think you heard in her reporting, the critical question when it comes
01:09to any support, concrete support that Xi Jinping might have offered President Trump, the question
01:17would be, what would China want in return? So, Beijing, very cautious with their wording. We've
01:24heard about from the White House that both sides, Xi and Trump, agreed on the free flow of energy.
01:32President Trump saying that Xi agreed that the Strait should be reopened. But China not mentioning
01:39directly the Strait of Hormuz in their official readout, but saying that they do want the shipping
01:45lanes reopened. Again, we're going over the conflict points, aren't we? We're not seeing any substance
01:51in terms of actual agreements or progress made towards what concrete help China could actually
01:57possibly give to the United States when it came to the Strait of Hormuz. President Trump clearly felt
02:03that the conversation around Iran went well. He spoke about it positively, sounding like Xi had agreed
02:11with him. But that is the critical question. If we get any more details and if there is some concrete
02:17help, support, progress that China could have given as an assurance to the United States,
02:23then the next question would be, what do they want in return?
