Trump wants to make Venezuela the 51st state. Seriously.
Five months after the U.S. captured Nicolas Maduro, Trump told he's "Seriously Considering" adding Venezuela to the American flag.
Venezuela's acting president Delcy Rodríguez fired back: "We are not a colony. We are a free country."
Trump has done this before. Greenland. Canada. Now Venezuela.
But here's the catch: The Constitution says no. New states need congressional approval AND the consent of the territory itself.
So unless Venezuela agrees to give up its sovereignty — which they just said they won't — this isn't happening.
A bold statement. A quick rejection. And a constitutional roadblock. 🇺🇸🇻🇪
