Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro delivered a fiery and defiant speech in Caracas on Monday, rejecting debates in the United States Congress over Venezuela’s military operations in the Caribbean Sea. In a passionate address, Maduro condemned what he described as “imperialist threats” from Washington and accused the domestic opposition of supporting foreign interference in Venezuelan affairs.
“What do we care about what the North American empire says, neither its president nor its Congress? No one will take from Venezuela the glory of this freedom won with blood and fire,” Maduro declared, reaffirming his government’s commitment to national sovereignty. He vowed that no external power would dictate or influence Venezuela’s decisions.
The president further accused opposition groups of surviving on “dirty dollars” sent from abroad, claiming that the “battered right wing” had disappeared from the country’s political landscape. Maduro alleged that the opposition encouraged US sanctions against Venezuelans living in the United States, including the removal of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and persecution by immigration authorities.
Maduro concluded his speech by pledging to defend Venezuela against any external interference through what he called “the perfect popular, military and police unity.” His remarks underscore rising tensions between Caracas and Washington amid renewed geopolitical friction in the region.
