00:25There we were and here we are
00:28La inaugural WWF Armageddon pay-per-view taking place in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
00:33It's the 12th December 1999, we've got 17,000 inside the arena and an estimated 337 have bought the show
00:39on pay-per-view.
00:41Our main event tonight is going to change everything as Triple H meets Vince McMahon in a no-holds-barred
00:46match.
00:47If Vince McMahon can beat the game, then Hunter's marriage to Stephanie McMahon will be annulled.
00:52It'll be made legally invalid.
00:54If Triple H wins though, Vince has to give him a WWF title shot.
00:57There's a lot of WWF tag teams also looking a shot at the tag team titles at the Royal Rumble
01:02and these tag teams are going to square off in our opening match to determine the number one contenders.
01:07It's a big old battle royal to kick off WWF Armageddon.
01:15This battle royal highlights how good the tag team division is right now in the WWF.
01:20When you compare it to last year, it's like a night and day difference.
01:23We've got the Dudley boys, Edge and Christian, these two began to match a little early by the way.
01:29We've also got the Headbangers, the Hardys, the Acolytes, two cool who get a great reaction on their way to
01:35the ring.
01:35Mark Henry and the Godfather are also here.
01:37And then there's the team that's going to win it all.
01:56So, once you get sent over the top rope, both you and your teammate have to...
02:00Are you being serious right now?
02:02Rodney's being eliminated?
02:04Uh, it's okay.
02:05The Mean Street Posse are playing chess while we're all playing checkers.
02:08Joey Abs runs in to replace Rodders and...
02:11Oh, for God's sake.
02:12No, wait, wait.
02:13Rodney's going back in.
02:15There's still hope for the Posse saying his big peak ass has been on fire since this match began...
02:19Oh, no.
02:19He's been sent out too.
02:21It's like...
02:22You know...
02:22Yeah, fuck it.
02:23This pay-per-view sucks.
02:24We've got Grandmaster Sexy holding his own against Godfather and Mark Henry.
02:28The Headbangers are sent to the back after Marsh gets eliminated.
02:32The Acolytes then team up to get their world's strongest man over the top rope.
02:35And after a little more action in the ring, Christian and Scotty Too Hotty find themselves on the apron.
02:40Unfortunately, the Grandmaster tried to help his partner, but it didn't work out too well.
02:44So, too cool of being eliminated and we're down to the final four teams.
02:48Edge and Christian get eliminated when Edge gets sent over the top rope and to the apron by Bubba Ray
02:53Dudley.
02:53D-Von was standing on the outside, he pulled Edge out, and the crowd booed when this elimination happened.
02:59Edge and Christian have been making quite the name for themselves on Raw every week,
03:02but they won't be facing the tag team champions at the Royal Rumble.
03:06Bubba delivered a great-looking fisherman suplex to Jeff Hardy while Jeff was on the top rope.
03:10And the action continued in the ring with Bradshaw taking the wuzz-up headbutt from the Dudley boys.
03:15The Dudleys were looking good as they dropped Jeff with a back suplex and neckbreaker combo,
03:19but D-Von made the mistake of celebrating after the move.
03:22Matt eliminated D-Von, so now we're down to the Hardy boys and the Acolytes.
03:26Matt and Bradshaw tumbled out of the ring at the same time and the referees decided to let the match
03:31continue.
03:31They couldn't see whose feet touched the floor first, so the match resumed inside the ring.
03:36Matt stays outside while his brother takes a clothesline from hell back inside the ropes,
03:40but Jeff's able to eliminate Farouk after a head scissor takedown.
03:44The officials were too busy tending to Matt Hardy though,
03:46so Farouk got back inside the ropes and once again, the match continued on.
03:51We see poetry in motion from the Hardy boys and Jeff had a golden opportunity to eliminate Bradshaw
03:55when the big Texan found himself on the apron.
03:58Somehow, Bradshaw was able to hold on following a top rope dropkick from Jeff,
04:02and the Acolytes win the match after Farouk delivers a spinebuster.
04:06Matt ends up on the apron alongside Bradshaw and when Jeff came running in at Farouk,
04:10the Hardy boy got launched over the top rope in spectacular fashion.
04:13The Acolytes win our opening match and yeah, this was a great way to kick off the pay-per-view,
04:18a fun bottle royal here that had an unpredictable finish.
04:42Kurt Angle wanted Steve Blackman to close the motherfuck dojo and join the Olympic dojo.
04:47Blackman was open to joining a new school so he could infiltrate it from the inside
04:51and gain all their high-classified confidential information,
04:55but he then noticed that Mr. Angle was only using him to gain match victories
04:58and the Olympic dojo didn't even exist.
05:01So Sensei Blackman's going to deliver a beatdown to Kurt Angle tonight at Armageddon.
05:05Kurt says he understands he's been getting bad crowd reactions ever since he came to WWF,
05:10but he knows he'll get a great response from these fans in Southern Florida tonight.
05:14He then makes his entrance and yeah, he gets booed out of the building, great stuff.
05:18He wants to talk about his three eyes, but he gets interrupted by Steve.
05:22And are we looking at a babyface turn here for Sensei Blackman?
05:26Steve turned himself into an actual missile when performing a missile dropkick.
05:30He then noticed a little bug on the mat that could transform into a giant robot monster at any time,
05:35so he took it out with a top rope splash.
05:37After Kurt performed a dropkick, he too went upstairs to make sure the bug was well and truly dead.
05:42Good work, boys.
05:43Blackman performs a bow and arrow submission followed by a backbreaker.
05:46He then applies a moodle lock because rail recognize rail, but Angle replies with a DDT.
05:52The WWF then passed out copies of the Financial Times to fans in attendance
05:55and naturally this leads to a boring chant,
05:58so Blackman spices things up a bit with some action on the outside
06:01followed by a slingshot sunset flip back inside the ropes.
06:04Kurt replies with a butterfly suplex.
06:06Kurt also cannot understand why these fans are chanting boring,
06:10and seriously, neither can I.
06:12While standing in the corner, Angle admits to Blackman that the Olympic dojo was completely fabricated
06:17and Steve gets angry.
06:18He performs a drop to a hold in the opposite corner
06:21and this gets followed up with the Blackman torpedo.
06:23Steve performs a snap suplex,
06:25he beats the crap out of Angle while the Olympic gold medalist was on the mat,
06:29Stevie then goes for a Vader bomb,
06:31but Kurt gets his knees up.
06:32Our match ends with Blackman missing an enziguri
06:34and Angle scores the win following a German suplex.
06:37But Stevie isn't done yet.
06:39For lying about the Olympic dojo
06:41and for having no highly confidential documents that Blackman could steal,
06:44Kurt gets attacked after the bell.
06:46The crowd cheer for Stevie here
06:47and he seems to be enjoying the response he's getting.
06:50The only bad thing about Steve turning babyface though
06:52is the fact that we may never see Shin Blackman in the WWF.
06:56We'll just have to wait and see.
06:58Decent match here,
06:59the finish was a little flat
07:00and the crowd were tough to please,
07:02but still pretty decent.
07:08Michael Cole's watching Barbara Bush get her evening gown on in the backstage area,
07:12what an absolute horndog.
07:14His eyes are laser focused on BB's big mama jammas
07:17and I can only imagine his reaction to the ending of our next match.
07:22It's an evening gown match that's taking place inside a pool of water
07:25and our contestants include BB, Miss Kitty, Jacqueline and Ivory,
07:29Mae Young and Evil Bitch the Fabulous Moolah are here to oversee the festivities.
07:34Nobody remembers what actually happened during the match
07:37because it's nothing more than women splashing around
07:39while trying to take each other's clothes off,
07:41but it came down to Miss Kitty and Ivory.
07:43Kitty ended up winning the match
07:45and yes, this match actually was contested for the women's championship
07:48so we have our first title change at Armageddon.
07:51The moment everyone remembers happened after the bell.
07:54Miss Kitty said everyone came here to see her get naked
07:56and she wasn't going to disappoint the fans,
07:58so she went ahead and she stripped down to her underwear
08:01before getting her bops out for the lads.
08:03This was all caught during the live feed of the pay-per-view
08:06and it caused some backlash from pay-per-view characters
08:09both domestically and globally.
08:10In particular, Sky Sports in the UK weren't too amused
08:13with the WWF not forewarning them about this planned spot
08:17and yes, it was most definitely planned.
08:20Funnily enough, Sky didn't get the rights
08:22to a few WWF pay-per-views the following year
08:24including the 2000 Royal Rumble.
08:26Anyway, Mae Young wants to show her stuff too
08:29but thankfully she was quickly removed from the arena.
08:31Mae almost succeeded in her mission
08:33which caused a lot of folks to snap back to reality
08:36after Kitty's little misdemeanor.
08:39Next up, we have the heaviest tag team match in WWF history
08:42when super heavyweights The Holly Cousins
08:44take on Rikishi Inviscera.
08:46In Rikishi said,
08:47he represents all the healthy fat people in the world tonight
08:50as he goes into this tag team match.
08:52Keep in mind,
08:53this was the first time Rikishi ever spoke
08:55since coming back to the WWF
08:57so yeah,
08:58quite the statement to make
08:59the first time you get a mic shoved in your face.
09:01He also began his promo saying
09:03Hickory Dickory Doc
09:04and I was fully expecting some clever and witty rhyming
09:08from Big Kish
09:09but alas, no such luck.
09:11He just cut his promo as normal
09:13talking about fighting for the rights of healthy chunky boys.
09:16Rikishi said he'd have his partners back tonight
09:18he needed Viscera to have his back
09:20but unfortunately Big Vis proved to be a terrible partner.
09:24He just stood there as Rikishi went to work at the opening bell
09:27and he let Rikishi dish out all the punishment.
09:29Crash got set on
09:31and not in a good way
09:32Hardcore had to save his partner from taking a bonsai drop
09:35Bombastic Bob then tagged in
09:37and he ended up taking a corner ass attack
09:39followed by a belly to belly suplex.
09:41Big Kish then looked to tag out
09:42but Viscera was in absolutely no rush to join in
09:46so Rikishi forcefully tagged him in
09:48and Visc had to go to work.
09:50Bob Holly took a Samoan drop
09:51while young Crash took a chokebomb
09:53followed by a belly to belly.
09:54Visc then missed a splash on both of his opponents
09:57and Hardcore is able to take advantage
09:59with a missile dropkick.
10:00The Hollies then try their best to bring Visc down
10:02but Crash made the stupid mistake
10:04of trying a sunset flip
10:05so Visc is able to destroy both Crash and Hardcore
10:08before tagging out.
10:10We see a pop-up cutter from Rikishi
10:12Hardcore takes a superkick
10:13we then see the Rikishi driver to crash
10:16Hardcore grabs Rikishi by the hair
10:18and Viscera then delivers a spinning wheel kick
10:20to his own partner.
10:22Was it a mistake
10:22or did Viscera do it on purpose?
10:24It doesn't matter
10:25because the Hollies win via pinfall
10:27and Viscera applauds his opponents
10:28as they head back up the ramp.
10:30This leads the Rikishi squaring up to Viscera
10:32and Big Vis takes a superkick
10:34after the two exchange boards.
10:35Officials have to come down
10:37to break the two men up
10:38and that's how it ends.
10:40Rikishi was impressive here
10:41the pop-up diamond cutter looked good
10:43and the fans were behind him
10:44from bell to bell.
10:51Val Venis says he's going to take a trip to Europe
10:53after he wins the European title tonight
10:55at Armageddon.
10:56He wants to find the most beautiful women
10:58in the continent
10:59because he's the Eiffel Tower
11:00and Big Ben all rolled into one.
11:03What a guy.
11:04Something tells me this Val Venis chaps
11:06overcompensating for something
11:07but anywho,
11:08Venis has some stiff,
11:10get it,
11:11stiff competition tonight
11:12because he's facing two opponents,
11:14the man who many thinks
11:15the greatest European champion of all time,
11:17D'Lo Brown,
11:18and the original European champion himself,
11:21the British Bulldog.
11:22Not only that,
11:23the Bulldog's brought some mean street back up
11:25with him tonight
11:25so yeah,
11:26tough break Mr. Valboski.
11:28My hopes and dreams got flushed down the toilet
11:30when that no-good Teddy Long
11:32sent the posse back to the dressing room
11:33and I legitimately shed a tear
11:35when Davey Boy didn't pull off
11:37a single chin lock in this match.
11:39D'Lo and Venus worked together
11:40to keep Davey in check
11:41but the alliance was short-lived.
11:43D'Lo pulled off a fantastic double clothesline
11:46after he dived over the top rope
11:47but it was Venus who took charge
11:49when the action got back inside the ring.
11:51After briefly going to the outside again,
11:53Venus finds himself in a bad spot.
11:55Davey and D'Lo decide to team up
11:56for a little while
11:57but again,
11:58it's an alliance that short-lived.
11:59D'Lo takes Bulldog out with a right hand
12:01and this allows D'Lo and Venus
12:03to do a little work in the ring
12:04but honestly,
12:05the crowd's been pretty dead for this one.
12:08Things don't improve
12:09when D'Lo botches a springboard DDT
12:11and when Davey comes back in,
12:13the crowd remain quiet.
12:14The spots that these guys planned out
12:16just aren't getting any kind of reaction, unfortunately.
12:19D'Lo performs a top rope sunset flip,
12:22the Bulldog pulls the referee out,
12:24D'Lo then takes a double backdrop
12:26that takes him out of the match for a while
12:27and Val Venus pulls off a spine buster.
12:30We then see the running power slam from Davey
12:32but D'Lo puts Val's foot on the bottom rope
12:34and when D'Lo gets back in the ring,
12:36the crowd finally make a little noise
12:38for his signature leg drop.
12:40Our match ends with D'Lo performing the lowdown on Davey
12:42but Val follows this up with a money shot to D'Lo.
12:45This leads to Val Venus becoming the new European champion
12:48and yeah, can't say I enjoyed this one too much.
12:51The crowd didn't get into it at all, unfortunately
12:54and it's easy to see why.
12:56A very by the numbers triple threat match right here.
13:01Resident pervert Michael Cole talks to X-Pac backstage.
13:04On Sunday Night Heat, Kane wanted his match against Kid
13:07to be contested inside a steel cage
13:09and so Pac wants to add a stipulation of his own.
13:12The Big Red Machine can only win this match via pinfall
13:15whereas Pac can climb out of the cage if he so chooses.
13:18He also tells Tori to stop calling his hotel room
13:21at all hours of the night because she isn't getting any.
13:23I can't help but think that's a bit of a fib, Mr. Waltman.
13:28Tori may not be getting any tonight
13:30but X-Pac's gonna get some
13:31as he takes on Kane.
13:32Not in the way X-Pac meant, of course.
13:35That's a different type of pay-per-view altogether.
13:37Kane's out first accompanied by Tori
13:39whereas old Billy no-mates X-Pac's all by himself.
13:42Waltman squares up to Tori on the outside
13:44while Kane's inside the cage
13:45but the Big Red Machine climbs out
13:47to put a stop to Pac's advances
13:49with a good old-fashioned uppercut.
13:50Kane continues to wreck his opponent on the outside
13:53but Pac grabs the ring bell
13:54and Kane gets whacked right between the eyes.
13:56Kane isn't down for long
13:58so Pac retreats inside the cage
14:00as his opponent follows.
14:02Waltman uses his quickness to get the advantage
14:04but he's quickly shut down
14:05when Kane catches a spin and wheel kick attempt
14:07into a big side slam.
14:08Kane stays on top with a military press slam
14:11but when he tries to run his adversary
14:13into the cage
14:14Pac's able to counter
14:15and it's Kane who tastes the steel
14:17before getting dropped
14:18with a spinning heel kick.
14:19Waltman tries to escape
14:20but Kane stops him
14:21as both men find themselves on the top rope.
14:24Kane ends up getting his wee red machine
14:26smashed on the rope
14:27before getting his head
14:28repeatedly rammed into the cage.
14:30Kane briefly goes back on offense
14:31but his backdrop's countered
14:33into a tornado DDT
14:34which did look pretty good.
14:36The crowd's been deathly silent
14:38throughout this one
14:38but they perk up a little
14:40for Kane's tilt-a-world backbreaker.
14:42X-Pac then gets thrown into the cage
14:43before taking a big boot
14:45and look, it would seem X-Pac has some mates
14:47as the outlaws run down to the ring
14:49with bolt cutters.
14:50Didn't see that coming.
14:51They cut the chain off the door
14:53eventually
14:54and Mr. Ass slams the door
14:56into Kane's face
14:56before sliding a chair into the ring.
14:58The outlaws take their leave
15:00as Pac scores with an X-Factor
15:02right onto that steel chair.
15:03X-Pac's mates have also thrown
15:05some handcuffs into the ring
15:06and Kane gets cuffed to the cage.
15:08This results in Waltman
15:09cracking his opponent
15:10over the head
15:11with that steel chair a few times.
15:13Pac then wants to escape
15:15but Tori climbs through the open door
15:16to try and stop him.
15:18Unfortunately for her,
15:19she gets a loogie right in the face
15:21before taking an X-Factor
15:22and despite this horrible act
15:24it doesn't really get a response
15:26from the crowd.
15:27Kane kicks the chair into Pac's face
15:29despite still being handcuffed
15:30to the cage
15:31meaning Pac has enough time
15:33to recuperate
15:33and make an attempt at climbing out.
15:35Kane's able to free himself though
15:37by breaking the handcuffs
15:38and he intercepts Waltman
15:39before his feet can touch the floor.
15:41Kid gets put back inside the cage
15:43he gets the door slammed in his face
15:45Kane then heads to the very top
15:47and he delivers a huge flying clothesline
15:49which finally gets the crowd on their feet.
15:51He's then able to score
15:53with a tombstone pile driver
15:54which is enough to put Pac down
15:56for the 1-2-3.
15:57Kane picks up the win for himself
15:59he gets some retribution for Tori
16:01and yeah, this one was grand.
16:03Not the best cage match you'll ever see
16:04but it was perfectly serviceable
16:06with a big spot at the end
16:07to top it all off.
16:08Surely this means now
16:10that this feud is over though.
16:12Right?
16:13Right?
16:20For the second pay-per-view in a row
16:22China puts our intercontinental championship
16:24on the line against Chris Jericho.
16:26Y2J attacked China's thumb
16:28with a hammer a few weeks ago
16:30which led to no criminal charges
16:32but that's commonplace in WWF I guess.
16:35Then, now and forever.
16:36Both China and Miss Kitty
16:38show off their championship gold
16:39as they make their way down to the ring
16:41but when the champion gets inside the ropes
16:43she immediately gets jumped
16:44from behind by the challenger.
16:46China's able to turn the tide
16:48with some forearm shots,
16:49a back elbow and a kitchen sink
16:51before she avoids an oncoming Y2J
16:53in the corner.
16:54On the outside,
16:55Jericho's able to take control
16:56by dropping China over the announce table
16:58before attempting to hit her
16:59with a steel chair.
17:01Kitty distracts Jericho long enough though
17:02to allow China to dropkick the chair
17:04into his face
17:05but Jericho is able to send China
17:07into the ring steps.
17:09Back in the ring,
17:09Jericho goes for a top rope attack
17:11but China counters with a low blow
17:12before connecting with her
17:13handspring back elbow
17:14and a DDT for a near fall.
17:17A spinning wheel kick from Jericho
17:18leads to China being tied up in the ropes
17:20and Y2J begins to focus
17:22on the champion's injured thumb.
17:24Jericho mocks China with his one foot pin
17:26and he scuffs his boots on her face.
17:29He then removes the turnbuckle pad
17:30and he continues his offence
17:32with a backbreaker
17:33before stretching China out over his knee.
17:35China gets sent into the ropes,
17:37she connects with a crossbody for a two
17:39but Jericho's able to regain control
17:41with a bulldog and a scoop slam.
17:44His lion salt attempt gets countered though
17:46and the challenger takes a swinging neckbreaker.
17:48China then delivers a powerbomb
17:50and as is the case in pro wrestling,
17:52he who sets it up must take it.
17:54Chris gets catapulted into the turnbuckle
17:56that he himself exposed earlier in the match
17:58but it only gets a two for the champion.
18:01Jericho's able to counter a pedigree
18:02into a backslide for a near fall of his own
18:05before placing China on the second rope
18:07for a backdrop
18:08but China is able to turn in midair
18:10to counter the move.
18:11She didn't get the full body rotation here
18:13unfortunately
18:14but still it was fine.
18:16Our match comes to an end
18:17when Chris locks in the walls of Jericho
18:19and after a heroic struggle
18:20China has no choice but to top out.
18:23Y2J wins via submission
18:25and we have a new intercontinental champion
18:27here tonight at Armageddon.
18:29Jericho wins his first of many
18:30IC titles in a match that was
18:33truth be told
18:33not as good as their Survivor Series encounter.
18:36Not to say it was bad or anything
18:37but I feel this one wasn't as heated
18:39despite all of the actions
18:41that led up to the match.
18:43After the match,
18:44Jericho tells Mitchell Cole
18:45as he calls him
18:46that the intercontinental belt
18:48has been finally restored
18:49to the level it deserves
18:50but he then gets interrupted
18:52by the previous champion.
18:54China extends her hand to Jericho
18:56and she congratulates him
18:57on his victory
18:58so I guess smashing someone's thumb
19:00with a hammer
19:01is a perfectly forgivable offense.
19:08Yet more championship goals
19:09set to be defended
19:10as the New Age Outlaws
19:12defend the tag team titles
19:13against the Rock and Sock connection.
19:15Mankind and Road Dogg start us off
19:17and Foley takes the early advantage
19:18with a shoulder block
19:19followed by a leg drop
19:20and then he immediately applies a chin lock.
19:23Now, we all love a good chin lock,
19:25no doubt about it,
19:26but 30 seconds into the match?
19:28Come on, man.
19:29Mr Dogg's able to fight out
19:31and make a tag to Billy
19:31and Billy drops Mick face first
19:33into the mat for a two.
19:35Mick then tags in the Great One
19:36who receives his customary Rockus ovation.
19:39Rocky and Billy square off,
19:41renewing their rivalry from the summer
19:42which as we all recall
19:44went just swimmingly for Mr Gunn
19:46and the theme continues
19:48as he gets stuck in his own shirt
19:49while the Rock lays the smack down.
19:52Foley comes back in
19:53as does Road Dogg.
19:54Roadie goes for the dancey punch
19:56but he gets stopped
19:56with a mandible claw.
19:58Billy breaks it up
19:58before he and Rock slug it out on the floor
20:00though these two eventually get joined
20:02by Mick and Road Dogg.
20:04Mr Ass and the People's Champ
20:05fight amongst the people
20:06as they go into the front row.
20:08Billy gets hip-tossed back over the barricade
20:10and all four men are back around ringside.
20:13The fight eventually gets back inside the ropes
20:14where Billy takes over on the Rock
20:16culminating in a not-so-great-looking
20:18diamond cutter from BA.
20:20The outlaws stay in control
20:22taking turns at isolating Rocky
20:24but the roadies' attempt
20:25at a pump-handle drop
20:26gets countered with a low blow.
20:28Some sick double-teaming
20:29puts Rocky back on the canvas though.
20:32See lads,
20:32now is the right time
20:34to pop on a chinlock
20:35as Rocky succumbs
20:36to the deadliest hold
20:37in all of sports entertainment.
20:39It stays in for a nice age
20:40but eventually Rocky gets out
20:42and he plants Billy
20:42with his float-over DDT.
20:44Both men tag their partners in
20:46and Mankind nails both outlaws
20:48with his running knee in the corner.
20:49He then tries his own version
20:51of the dancey punch
20:52but he accidentally clocks the referee.
20:54He is able to connect with the pile driver
20:56but there's no official
20:57to count the pinfall.
20:59Billy and Rock end up on the outside
21:00once again
21:01as Foley scores with his double-armed DDT.
21:03He signals that it's time
21:05for the people of Florida
21:06and more specifically Road Dogg
21:08to meet Mr. Sockle.
21:09The mandible claw gets applied
21:10but then Mick's former partner
21:12Al Snow makes his way to the ring
21:14and he clobbers Mick in the head
21:16with head.
21:17The monaghan head.
21:18Not his eye.
21:19Never mind.
21:20The referee gets revived
21:21but he gets pulled out
21:22before he can make it to three.
21:23Rocky then makes a beeline for Al
21:25and Mr. Snow gets battered
21:27on the entranceway.
21:28Meanwhile,
21:28Mick gets hit with the ring bell
21:30back inside the ropes.
21:31Although he is able to kick out
21:33of the follow-up cover,
21:34the match continues on.
21:36Mick then takes a pile driver
21:37but he's able to fight off
21:38both outlaws
21:39before tagging Rocky back in.
21:41Rocky goes to work on the champions
21:43before connecting with a rock bottom
21:44to Mr. Ass.
21:45He makes the cover
21:46but here comes Al Snow
21:47to break up the pin
21:48and cause a disqualification.
21:51Mick and Al then brawl up the ramp
21:53as Rocky delivers a rock bottom
21:54to Road Dogg
21:55and Rock dishes out another rock bottom
21:57to Al Snow
21:58before hitting him
21:59with the people's elbow.
22:00I feel like I say this every month
22:02but this tag team match involving the outlaws
22:04wasn't all that good.
22:05Now, fair enough,
22:06this one didn't follow the usual formula
22:08but the main issue here
22:09was that it went on for way too long.
22:12The DQ finish didn't help matters either.
22:20Finally,
22:21after everything he's been put through,
22:23The Big Show gets his hands
22:24on The Big Boss Man
22:25in a one-on-one match.
22:26Boss Man tormented Big Show
22:28over the death of Daddy's show last month
22:30and even though Show became the WWF champion,
22:32The Big Boss Man didn't stop.
22:34As a matter of fact,
22:35Boss Man became the number one contender
22:37before going to Mommy Show's house.
22:39All because he found out
22:40that Big Show's actually
22:41a big, illegitimate, nasty bastard.
22:44Boss Man's words, not mine.
22:46A very personal rivalry here
22:47that's been highly entertaining
22:49simply because it's all been
22:50so deliciously absurd.
22:52And hey,
22:52it all gave Boss Man a WWF title match
22:54on pay-per-view.
22:56Boss Man says,
22:56Show's fake daddy died
22:58and went to hell.
22:59The Boss Man's been running around
23:00crying saying,
23:02Who's my daddy?
23:03Who's my daddy?
23:04Which may have been disgusting,
23:05but it was still funny.
23:06And Boss Man wrapped up
23:07his pre-match promo
23:08by saying he'll be Big Show's daddy
23:10after he wins the WWF title.
23:13Unfortunately,
23:13this match is only three minutes long,
23:15meaning it's the shortest
23:16WWF pay-per-view championship match
23:18of the year.
23:19Quite simply,
23:20Paul White isn't getting the opportunity
23:21to show what he could do
23:22as WWF champion.
23:24And if you've been watching
23:25reliving the war over the past month,
23:27you would have noticed this too.
23:29He's not even being booked
23:30like a typical WWF champion.
23:32Albert tried to help on the outside,
23:34but he got chokeslammed through a table.
23:35This bought the challenger
23:36a little bit of time
23:37and Show got his head rammed
23:39into the ring post.
23:40Boss Man then struggled big time
23:41to get his opponent back in the ring.
23:43He went for the cover
23:44and after kicking out,
23:45the Big Show performed a kip-up.
23:47Our match then ended
23:48with a standing sidekick
23:49followed by a chokeslam.
23:50And, well,
23:51at least it was different
23:52from every other WWF championship match
23:54we've had on pay-per-view
23:55over the past few months.
23:57Not saying it was good or anything,
23:59but yeah,
23:59there you go.
24:09They build up to our main events
24:10like a twisted family drama
24:12if the family was run
24:14by a power-hungry patriarch
24:15who only found his moral compass
24:17when it was convenient to do so.
24:19Triple H being
24:20the cerebral assassin he is
24:22slipped a little something
24:23in Stephanie McMahon's drink
24:25and he got married to Vince's daughter
24:27in Las Vegas
24:28while Steph was knocked out unconscious.
24:31Vince naturally lost his mind
24:33because, sure,
24:34Vince might exploit his family
24:36for ratings every now and then,
24:37but unlawfully marrying his daughter,
24:40that crossed his very flexible line.
24:43Instead of doing the sensible thing
24:44like calling the cops
24:45and having Triple H locked up,
24:47Vince decided that
24:48the most logical way to deal with his daughter's
24:50drugged up wedding in Vegas
24:52was to try and annul it
24:53inside a wrestling ring live on pay-per-view.
24:56If Vince wins,
24:57Triple H signs the papers
24:58and the marriage is over.
25:00If Triple H wins,
25:01not only does he become
25:02the number one contender
25:04for the big show's WWF title,
25:05but there's a lot more at play here.
25:07A win means Hunter gets an official seat
25:10at an unwelcome
25:11McMahon family dinner table,
25:12permanently,
25:13giving him a very strategic position
25:15as we roll into the year 2000,
25:17even if Vince and Stephanie
25:18want nothing to do with him.
25:20Stephanie McMahon's here tonight,
25:22she takes her front row seat
25:23to see what could be a game changer.
25:25Hunter's brought a sledgehammer
25:27to Armageddon tonight,
25:28but Vince has brought something
25:29way more useful,
25:30a handful of Shawn Michaels'
25:32finest disco dust.
25:33Triple H has been blinded,
25:34and no,
25:35Vince didn't miss by a mile at all.
25:37It's time for our main event,
25:39Triple H vs. Vince McMahon
25:41at Armageddon 99.
25:47Vince begins the match
25:48by throwing rights and lefts
25:50at his opponent.
25:51Triple H is acting blinded,
25:52and therefore,
25:53McMahon's able to get in
25:54a few free shots.
25:55They don't look pretty
25:56at all, to be honest.
25:58He does perform a clothesline,
25:59and he gets dirty with a low blow,
26:01but hey,
26:02no holds barred,
26:03anything goes.
26:04The destruction of Triple H continues
26:05with a bump at the commentary table,
26:07followed by a bump at the ring steps,
26:08and here we go,
26:10we're going into the audience.
26:11You just know we'll eventually
26:13make it up the entrance way too,
26:14because it wouldn't be
26:15a 1999 WWF pay-per-view match
26:17without the same old tired stuff.
26:19These spots have become
26:20such blatant shortcuts
26:22that they really have to be called out.
26:24Hunter turns it around
26:25when the two fight
26:26in a dark arena tunnel,
26:27would be great
26:28if we could actually see what's happening.
26:30Triple H stays in control
26:31as the two make their way
26:32back to the front row,
26:33though Vince manages
26:34to backdrop Hunter
26:35over the security barrier.
26:37Mankind then shows up
26:38with a shopping cart
26:39filled with wonderful toys,
26:41so Vince takes
26:41the most lethal weapon of all,
26:43a trash can lid.
26:44In the shot he tries
26:45to give Hunter
26:46looked pretty bad.
26:47I'm not sure
26:48who took the impact here,
26:49but it's Vince who goes down.
26:51Triple H gets the last
26:52of Sean's amazing powder
26:54out of his eyes,
26:55and this little break
26:56gives Vince another swing
26:57with the trash can lid.
26:58Hunter takes a few more shots
27:00as Stephanie watches on
27:01with a gleeful look on her face.
27:03The guy beside her, though,
27:04is absolutely stoned
27:05out of his mind.
27:07Vince then uses
27:07the whole trash can
27:08to knock Hunter back
27:09over the barrier.
27:10Stephanie talks a little trash
27:12to her husband
27:12as Vince goes looking
27:14for more weapons.
27:15This time,
27:15he grabs a crutch,
27:16but the game goes back
27:17in control
27:18and that crutch gets lodged
27:19right into Vince's nutsack.
27:21Vince gets thrown
27:22into the shopping cart
27:23and his bump
27:24look quite comical.
27:25In the two then trade weapon shots
27:27as they,
27:28you guessed it,
27:29begin making their way
27:30up to the entrance stage.
27:32Triple H stays firmly
27:33in the driver's seat here
27:34as he uses the entrance props
27:35to his advantage,
27:36but the best shot
27:37he gives McMahon
27:38is when he uses
27:39the shopping cart
27:40to great effect.
27:41That looked pretty awesome
27:42and funny.
27:43Just when you think
27:44these two are heading
27:45back to the ring,
27:45they stop in their tracks
27:46and they head back up the ramp.
27:48There's more toys
27:49to play with up there
27:50and by god,
27:51these men are gonna play.
27:52Another comical bump
27:53happens when Hunter
27:54swings a turret around
27:55and it bumps Vince
27:56right on the dome.
27:57Even Stephanie thought
27:58it was funny
27:59and look,
28:00she's covering her face
28:01so she doesn't laugh
28:01all over her half-baked neighbor.
28:04Hunter then rubbed
28:04some broken glass
28:05into McMahon's forehead
28:07but Vince comes back
28:08by throwing Triple H
28:09into an airplane prop
28:10before performing
28:11a little aircraft adjustment.
28:13Hunter gets hit on the head
28:14and I don't know why
28:15but I'm finding all this
28:16really funny.
28:17Honestly,
28:18stopping myself
28:19from adding in cartoon sound effects.
28:21We go to the side
28:22of the entranceway
28:23very briefly
28:23before the two head
28:24into the backstage area.
28:26Things are now getting interesting
28:27but the heat's gonna get
28:29seriously turned up
28:30as we approach
28:30the end of our main event.
28:36Hunter drops an elbow on Vince
28:38while the two were on top
28:39of a car.
28:40Hunter then disappears
28:41and Vince has no idea
28:43where his opponent went.
28:44Stephanie watches on
28:45from the crowd
28:46as her dad goes hunting
28:47for her husband
28:48and McMahon's now left the arena
28:50as he continues his search.
28:52A car then tries to run Vince over
28:54but the Ketlag chairman
28:55of the board
28:55dodges the vehicle.
28:57It was Triple H
28:57who tried to run Vince down
28:59and this plays into
29:00what happened to Steve Austin
29:01at Survivor Series.
29:02The two then walk around
29:03the parking area
29:04where Triple H uses cars
29:06and an 18-wheeler
29:07to do more damage
29:08than his dad-in-law
29:08and the game
29:09even body slams Vince
29:10on top of a limo.
29:12Hunter taunts Vince
29:13as the two head back
29:14inside the arena.
29:15On the way there
29:16Hunter asks McMahon
29:17if he wants a snack
29:18from the vending machine
29:19but Vince says no.
29:20McMahon's truly had
29:21his ass handed to him here
29:22but the old devil
29:24isn't out yet.
29:25When the two get back
29:25in the arena
29:26he uses a steel pipe
29:27to keep his opponent
29:28at bay for a while
29:29and this leads
29:30to Triple H
29:31climbing up the side
29:32of the entranceway.
29:33Hunter goes up the scaffold
29:34and Vince follows close by.
29:36Unfortunately for McMahon
29:37it's Triple H
29:38who manages to keep his grip
29:39and Vince goes down
29:40into a bunker prop
29:42set up at the entranceway.
29:43McMahon's been busted open
29:45and to make sure Vince
29:46is done for
29:46the game smacks him
29:47with an empty gas can.
29:49Triple H has this all
29:50under control
29:51so he goes back to ringside.
29:53He grabs a microphone
29:54and he taunts Stephanie.
29:55He says Stephanie
29:56will never have to wonder
29:57who her daddy is again
29:58because he's standing
29:59right in front of her
30:00at this very moment.
30:02Hunter then gives Stephanie
30:03one last chance
30:04to say goodbye to Vince
30:05before he puts McMahon
30:06away for good.
30:07Great bit of work here
30:08and a great way
30:08to build anticipation.
30:10Hunter puts Vince
30:11in the ring
30:11he lifts a steel pipe
30:13above his head
30:14Vince defiantly flips
30:15Hunter off
30:16and so Triple H decides
30:18to use his sledgehammer
30:19instead.
30:20Hunter grabs his weapon
30:21of choice
30:21as Stephanie screams
30:23from her front row seat
30:24but just as Triple H
30:25is about to deliver
30:26the kill shot
30:27Vince gets in a low blow.
30:28This buys Vince enough
30:29time to hit Hunter
30:30with that steel pipe
30:31and now it's Triple H
30:33who's in trouble.
30:34McMahon decides to pick up
30:35the game's sledgehammer
30:36Hunter's just about
30:37to meet his maker
30:38but Stephanie McMahon
30:40gets in the ring
30:40and she stops her dad
30:41from hitting his opponent.
30:43Instead Stephanie wants
30:44to do the honors
30:45and it's she who wants
30:46to put an end to Triple H
30:47for good.
30:48But in the end
30:49she just couldn't do it.
30:51She just doesn't have it
30:52in her.
30:53So Triple H takes the weapon
30:54he whacks Vince in the gut
30:56and right in the face.
30:57Triple H wins via pinfall
30:58and that's it.
31:00He's going to stay married
31:01to Stephanie McMahon
31:02and he's just become
31:03the number one contender
31:04for the WWF title.
31:05After the bell
31:06Stephanie tends to her dad.
31:08She looks very worried
31:09about the state
31:10Vince is currently in
31:11but Hunter goes to
31:12brain her too
31:13just before the pay-per-view
31:14comes to an end.
31:15Stephanie turns her head around
31:17she looks a bit shocked
31:18at what Triple H was about to do
31:20but then she gives Hunter
31:21a big old smile
31:22before embracing him
31:23in the middle of the ring.
31:25It was all a set up
31:26Triple H and Stephanie McMahon
31:28had worked together
31:29to pull this whole thing off.
31:31These two are madly in love
31:32it seems
31:33and Triple H just played
31:34the perfect game.
31:40A brilliant end
31:41into the pay-per-view right here
31:42and even though the main event
31:44was formulaic in places
31:45it was still pretty entertaining.
31:47The big reveal at the end
31:48is truly a historic moment
31:50and it launches the final chapter
31:51of the WWF's Attitude Era.
31:53The rest of the show
31:54was a mixed bag
31:55though I did enjoy it
31:56more than Survivor Series.
31:57The bottle royal opener
31:58X-Pac vs. Kane
32:00and China vs. Chris Jericho
32:01are all worth a watch
32:02and the main event
32:03I feel is a must-see
32:05Attitude Era showdown
32:06that changes everything
32:07as we move forward.
32:09Armageddon does come recommended.
32:10Check it out
32:11if you haven't seen it in a while.
32:12And please join me on Thursday
32:14for reliving the war.
32:15This McMahon-Hemsley relationship
32:17is soon going to affect
32:18every single person
32:20who works for the WWF.
32:21Thank you very very much
32:23for watching.
32:23I do appreciate it.
32:24And please take care.
33:16We'll see you next time.
