00:02Apple is reviewing a report from Palo Alto-based security research company Kalief,
00:07according to the Wall Street Journal. Researchers said they discovered a new method to bypass
00:12macOS security protections while testing an early version of Anthropics Mythos AI software in April.
00:18Kalief said it linked two bugs and several techniques to corrupt Mac memory and gain
00:23access to restricted parts of the device in what researchers described as a privilege escalation
00:28exploit. Kalief CEO Tai Duong said Mythos helped build exploit code for the macOS bugs in five days
00:35but required human cybersecurity expertise to complete the attack. Apple said it takes reports
00:41of potential vulnerabilities seriously and is validating the findings. Cybersecurity experts
00:46are warning of a potential bugmageddon as AI models from companies such as Anthropic and OpenAI
00:52rapidly accelerate the discovery of security vulnerabilities.
