00:00These have been pretty credible sources that we've looked at.
00:03Week 1, the Texans will be hosting the Buffalo Bills.
00:07Stick a pin in that.
00:08I think there's a conversation there.
00:09We learned yesterday that they would be heading to London in Week 6 to take on the Jags.
00:15Week 7, they are at home to face the New York Giants.
00:19Week 11, Thursday night football, they will be facing the Indianapolis Colts,
00:26and that will be here at Reliance Stadium.
00:30Week 13, the Steelers will be hosting your Houston Texans Sunday night football.
00:36As of now, that could be a flex possibility with how bad I think the Steelers potentially will be.
00:41But Week 13 at Pittsburgh, Sunday night football.
00:45Then they go to Washington to take on the Commanders in Week 14.
00:49That's a road game.
00:51Week 16, Thursday night Christmas Eve game, they will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia.
00:58So those of you all thinking about taking that trip, be safe.
01:05You say Philly?
01:07Yeah.
01:07That's one of a few stadiums I will never take my Milner tradition of going to road games to.
01:11Oh, you've got to go to Philly.
01:13No, I really won't.
01:14I have seen actual news stories and heard too many things about how awful those Eagles fans are.
01:22I ain't going to put myself or my wife in that position.
01:25Well, to be fair, you're not wrong.
01:29You're not wrong.
01:30Just a real quick update.
01:31Mike has not completed his time of giving up homers.
01:34He gives up a two-run homer.
01:36It is now 5-1.
01:41That Crawford box, that old short porch out there, that guy looked like he barely swung, man.
01:45I mean, he just poked that thing out there in the Crawford box as it was over.
01:49Dana Brown somewhere slowly dying inside.
01:52No, he's not worried, man.
01:53Mike Burroughs gives up his second three-run homer in the first and now a two-run bomb in the
02:02fourth.
02:02Astros trail 5-1.
02:04All right.
02:05Philly is one, man.
02:06I feel like Philly is one you have to, you just got to be smart.
02:10Philly is one you have to, I think, experience.
02:12Like it was for me, Oakland.
02:15Oakland, my mom was smart.
02:16We went in there.
02:17Did they throw batteries at you?
02:20Not us specifically, but they did throw a big thing of nachos on a six-year-old kid walking up
02:26the stairs.
02:27But, um.
02:28Kid probably deserves it.
02:29You just got to be.
02:30He seems pretty nice.
02:31You got to just be smart, right?
02:34You don't, like, Tyler, maybe you can't control yourself.
02:37You're going full-fledged jersey, everything.
02:40Hey, man, we, you know, we went denim shirt with a little Chief Arrowhead right in the corner with a
02:46jacket over it.
02:47Like, we just, we were neutral.
02:48We were neutral with that thing.
02:50Yeah.
02:51And, uh.
02:51Kind of like what I did at Dodger Stadium.
02:53Yeah.
02:54Smart.
02:54Smart.
02:55Yeah.
02:55You know, you know, you wear a little neutral stuff.
02:57But I think you got to go.
02:58You got to go visit.
02:59Maybe you don't take Megan there.
03:01Maybe you don't take Megan, but maybe you take some of the fellas.
03:04Yeah.
03:04Yeah.
03:04I tell you, I would argue that Astros fans going to L.A. is probably more dangerous than, uh.
03:11Really?
03:12Texans fans going to Philly.
03:13Really?
03:14Yeah.
03:14Now, if you're Giants or Cowboys or maybe even Washington going to Philly, that may be different.
03:21But, yeah.
03:22I mean, I think you probably already experienced and survived the worst of the worst for a Houston
03:28sports fan.
03:29Yeah.
03:29I bet.
03:30I mean, the stories I've heard, that L.A. stuff is scary.
03:32I mean, it don't.
03:33I mean, I could handle the Philly stuff.
03:34I've been there.
03:35I played arena ball in Philly.
03:36I mean, I'm familiar.
03:37Hell, I was with the Cowboys.
03:38You went out there.
03:39And they are.
03:39They're rough.
03:39That game I went to at Dodger Stadium, like I said, with your recommendation, Ron, I was
03:44just wearing an Astros polo with, like, an Astros logo pretty small on it.
03:48But I was supporting my team, and I still got a handful of FUs, you know, as I was passing
03:54people and stuff.
03:55It was pretty hot back then, too, though.
03:57It was pretty hot right there.
04:00It was still fresh.
04:00Yeah, it was real fresh.
04:02It was real fresh.
04:02All right.
04:03Let's look at this, because I disagree with something I've heard Sean Pendergast say.
04:08But Sean Pendergast, he wanted, boy, he wanted the Browns week one.
04:12He wanted a rollover team week one.
04:16He did not get that.
04:16He did not.
04:17No.
04:18He got a Super Bowl contender.
04:20Right?
04:20Buffalo's still Super Bowl contender.
04:21Oh, yeah.
04:22I mean, I would think, until we see what Joe Brady's all about, and you can't knock Josh
04:25Allen out of the mix.
04:26Yeah.
04:26I think they got a Super Bowl contender, one of the teams that people believe has a chance
04:31to come out of the AFC, the Buffalo Bills, week one at home.
04:35And I love it.
04:37I love it.
04:38I love it for it.
04:39It's even better than last year, when they had to go to the Rams.
04:43On the road, you get them at home.
04:45You could argue this is their toughest home game.
04:49Right?
04:49Maybe Baltimore, because of the history with Baltimore and the physicality.
04:54But, you know, I would say Baltimore-Buffalo with Dallas in there.
04:59But I would think Baltimore-Buffalo are arguably two of their toughest home games.
05:04So you could argue Buffalo's one of them.
05:05This is probably the healthiest you're going to be going into the season off of training
05:12camp, right?
05:14And you're at home.
05:17And I would imagine if you have a chance to have the best home crowd, it is a home crowd,
05:24week one, where everybody's hungry and everybody's excited and everybody's ready to go.
05:29Now, Buffalo fans are going to try to come down here.
05:31But this still feels like you may have the best crowd and you're ready to roll.
05:36There's no real pressure of a primetime game, although I think it should be one.
05:40But there's no pressure of a primetime game.
05:42And it'll be one of the biggest games on CBS.
05:45Yes, you might get the big guys.
05:47You might get Romo and Jim.
05:49But I like this early on, them having this challenge to kind of get this one in their
05:56toughest home game, probably playing at the healthiest they'll be.
06:01And you get D'Amico, who we've seen what he's had to do and what he's done to Josh in
06:07a week.
06:07You give D'Amico the entire offseason to get ready for Josh Allen and his crew.
06:15Even though they've got a new head coach, he's kind of new.
06:17He was the OC, so you still know about what this team – I love the idea of this.
06:22Yeah, I like this week one matchup for the Texans with the Bills.
06:25You're getting them at home.
06:26And as you mentioned, I think, look, anytime you can catch Josh Allen that early in the season.
06:32You mentioned the Rams game last year.
06:34These veterans don't play a whole hell of a lot of football.
06:37Football in the preseason, if any.
06:40And, hell, as long as Joe Brady and Josh Allen have been together,
06:42there may not be any for Josh Allen in the preseason.
06:45And then he's got to come week one, first rattle out of the box.
06:48He's got to face D'Amico's defense.
06:50And we know how D'Amico's – we know how he practices.
06:52Hell, defensively, at least, we know how he practices.
06:55Those guys are going to be ready to play.
06:57So not only do you have the recent history of some, like, crazy success against Josh Allen,
07:05but now you're catching him right out of the gate with very little preseason snaps to get prepared for the
07:11season.
07:11And I've said it before, and this is one thing.
07:14This is a heel I'll die on for quarterbacks.
07:15If I were a coach, my quarterback would play significantly more than what NFL quarterbacks play now in the preseason
07:21for this one reason.
07:23You simply cannot duplicate and replicate the speed, the power, the sound, the action around a quarterback's feet
07:32and in a quarterback's face in practice.
07:35I mean, I know D'Amico damn near tried to do it last year versus CJ.
07:39There ain't no doubt when CJ was trying to install an offense.
07:41But at the end of the day, and a guy like Josh Allen, it may only impact him for a
07:46drive.
07:46It may only impact him for a series.
07:48It may be a quarter.
07:49I don't know how long it's going to be, but there is no doubt about it that Josh Allen week
07:53one is going to be a little bit –
07:58gun shy is not the right answer, but a little bit uncomfortable.
08:01Or let's say this, not as comfortable as we typically see Josh Allen.
08:05He's not going to be seeing things as clearly from jump as we see him, you know, middle of the
08:10season.
08:10So I'm with you, man.
08:11I like catching the Bills at home.
08:14Their quarterback, their offensive-minded head coach against our defense and our defensive-minded head coach,
08:19I like this – I mean, this is – in terms of schedule placement, this is advantage Houston.
08:25I think so.
08:26Yep.
08:27I absolutely think so when they're – because sometimes it matters when you play teams.
08:31Yeah.
08:31And where they are.
08:33Hell, you know, and like I said, it's the healthiest you probably will be in the season.
08:39You remember like, oh, boy, that Baltimore game is going to be tough last year.
08:42Until you got about six, seven weeks in and Baltimore didn't have any of their meaningful players.
08:49The odds of that happening to the Texans week one against Buffalo against one of their toughest opponents
08:54is very, very – it's very, very slim to none.
