00:00so let me talk about a little bit about uh back to the beginning where you guys were just played
00:04there and it was that must have been a monumental experience being surrounded by your you know your
00:10musical peers and contemporaries can you tell us a little about like what it was like oh it was
00:15insane yeah it was a while it was wild you know you i i can't believe that we were even
00:20there you
00:20know i was like what are we doing here yeah when when we got the call and we're like you
00:24know
00:24sharon's asking you to be a part of this and like is this real like well we didn't know it
00:30was this
00:30email it was like hey sabbath is going to play one last gig with the original four members and
00:35maybe metallica might be there uh do you guys want to be on the show we're like well yeah yeah
00:39of
00:40course of course and uh that's all we knew about it then they announced it and we're like oh that's
00:47like a whole thing and yeah it was it was wild the whole vibe backstage it was it was a
00:53big we always
00:53say it was a big love fest yeah i was everyone was so just happy to be there like talking
00:58to adam
00:58from tool he's like can you believe this like this is crazy what are we doing here yeah yeah what
01:03did
01:03he say about the bucket list like it's like well we were like yeah it's like a bucket list thing
01:07he's
01:07like yeah but it wasn't ever on the bucket list but totally it's like a secret invisible section of
01:11your own bucket list that you didn't even know about it's really like uh it's like fulfilling a bucket
01:17list with that when you haven't even fleshed it out you know it's sort of like it's a weird
01:20and it was neat like all the bands we you know we're all just on this rotating stage and
01:26it wasn't really any production you play your songs and the stage turns and the next band plays
01:32and yeah we just kind of plug in and play and wow and it it was awesome it was so
01:36much fun and
01:37i mean playing itself was chaos it was a lot of energy and it was over we had like 15
01:42minutes but
01:43was it the biggest crowd you had like guys played for would you say or i don't know i mean
01:46if you
01:47if you had the streamers yeah the streamers yeah the week before that we it was funny we we were
01:52on
01:52tour with iron maiden over in europe and the week before we're in london at london stadium and it was
01:57like 75 000 people at that stadium so we got to birmingham we're like it's okay we don't have to
02:02be
02:02nervous this is a small stadium there's only 45 000 45 000 but then they told us afterward that
02:07there was like five million people streaming so i'm like okay well that counts that we didn't know
02:11that yeah it's such perspective right for you guys it's amazing it was really beautiful too because
02:16you know we're we're we were at rehearsals the day before and you know you're hanging out with
02:21steven tyler and you know james is there and and tom morello and axl rose and but it was all
02:26but it
02:27was like everybody was the same like no head was higher everybody was like in this giddy almost like
02:34childlike state and and same energy all around yeah it was really neat and you know we talked about
02:39it afterward like i don't think we'll ever experience anything like that again and you know and then uh
02:44you know we were just you hope to but yeah but yeah it was it was it was just really
02:48special and
02:49especially the whole ozzy and set you know ozzy doing his last show we were out in the middle of
02:54the crowd with like the osbornes were by us a bunch of other band people and um it was it
03:00was emotional
03:00you know you watch it like ozzy singing mama i'm coming home and he was home and and uh like
03:06everyone
03:06was crying and i i keep trying to like figure out like how to describe i think the closest i've
03:12gotten is
03:13you know there was everyone was kind of on the same emotional wavelength watching them and
03:18and i think it was amplified you know you're in a stadium like that and that's what what was really
03:22special was i think all the humans together kind of feeling the same thing kind of just amplified
03:28these emotions it's like just hive mind almost it was it was really crazy feeling it was awesome
03:34yeah it must have been amazing did you have did you get a chance to have any uh did you
03:39get to
03:40talk to ozzy any any memorable moment with him we we talked to sharon and then to tony iomi
03:46the most yeah we didn't get to talk we were we we were planning on it but every time they
03:52wheeled poor hussy and he would get mobbed by everybody we're like i don't want to be that guy
03:56you know be cool honey but in hindsight we probably should have been
04:03that's great and then uh and of course i you guys did you know perry mason and you know it's
04:08funny
04:08i'm i'm listening to your interpretation of perry mason i'm like this song could have been a hail
04:14storm song it's like the way you executed it was just like it's like it was i've actually made me
04:20listen to perry mason differently than i because i wasn't not the biggest fan of that song to begin
04:24with but the way you guys did it i was just like wow this song's really good oh thank you
04:28so much
04:29because why you guys really it was just you did you put your spin on it and i was just
04:32like man
04:33that was that's really that was awesome i think thank you yeah i appreciate it yeah how did you
04:37how did you pick that one well that that wasn't what we were going to be playing until about two
04:41weeks out we were uh we were going to be playing a national acrobat uh outside of what he said
04:48at the
04:48second yeah we worked up a national acrobat and then morello was like hey you can't do that i think
04:53metallica was good i'm like all right fine or yeah or he talked about too it's like tony iomi hasn't
04:59made
04:59up the set list of like so maybe there's that you know he's like but there's there's it's up in
05:02the
05:02air with that one now i'm like okay we're like you know i i i bet you most bands are
05:08playing sabbath
05:08songs so let's do an ozzy song and like when we came up you know in rock and roll listening
05:14to rock
05:14and roll in the 90s osmosis was out you know that song was the one on the radio so you
05:20know we started
05:21there and then dug back and i'm like let's you know perry mason was great yeah and you can sing
05:27that a lot
05:27of it so we should do it oh my god yeah
