00:00Yes, I believe that the jet skis can assist. This is something that we have done before when we had
00:08persons that went missing in the same Boko Reef area. The last rescue in Tobago was done by a jet
00:16ski actually. The last person that died from a jet ski in Tobago prior to this young lady.
00:22President of the Tobago Water and Trails Association Ricardo Alfred said, once called upon, his jet skis can be launched
00:30at Goodwood Bay.
00:31We are willing to assist in terms of, we have a lot of skilled persons, master divers. I am actually
00:39trained in terms of retrieval of items and persons from waters and stuff like that.
00:45So there's a, it's a long process in terms of finding the wave patterns and finding the movements and stuff
00:52like that. But we can assist, we have, we can deploy the use of ATVs to run along the coast
00:58to see if there's any lodge of any bodies on any rocks or anything like that.
01:02Alfred said the use of jet skis makes it easier in maneuvering on the waters.
01:07Jet skis are much more maneuverable than a boat. You know, you're talking about something that could, you know, by
01:14the space of a throttle, you know, you can get up to 200 horsepower immediately, you know.
01:19So it's, it is something that is very maneuverable in these type of waters.
01:24And rough seas would not prevent the jet ski from being operational?
01:29No, you just have to know your jet ski and know the water and you'll be fine. Yeah. We don't
01:34have a long base or a 28 meter or 28 foot boat or 30. You're talking about something, you know,
01:41about 10 feet long, you know, in the water with some very powerful engines.
